UCaG Guide / General UCaG OOC / Welcome/Goodbye A guide of the UCaG, general discussions of the UCaG and a Welcome/Goodbye thread! "The UCaG is a playground. Know it, and you will enjoy it even more." ~DragonYugi ---- The Unofficial Contests and Games Board The Unofficial Contests and Games board (also known as the UCaG) is the place where you come to play games and contests created by other users. As the name implies, the contests in this board are unofficial. In-game prizes will not be given as prizes, but it is possible to win things from other boards, such as signatures from the Creative Art Forum. Important! Remember that there is already an existing forum for RolePlaying here. This is the forum for games. A game or a contest has a defined goal that a player must achieve to "win". A game or a contest can be played over and over. Role Plays do not fit this description. To create a game, you'll need to first post it in the Pending Contests and Games forum. There the game will be reviewed before approval or denial. Before making a game, it is a requirement to read the =UCaG= rules. The Unofficial Contests and Games OOC Board Discussion threads for the games in the UCaG are located here. It also contains the thread for nominations for Game of the Month. You can make threads for pending games, but keep in mind that the thread will be deleted if the game is denied. The UCaG Dictionary Courtesy of DragonYugi Action & Reaction - An A&R is an Action and Reaction game. A&R games generally work with the creator of the game posting updates for the players, and the players post reactions to that. It is important in A&R games that players do not take over the game and only post reactions to their characters. Otherwise, it crosses the line into RP territory and is locked. Generally, A&R games require applications Biography - A small or big block of text describing the history and past experiences of a person or a character; commonly abreviated as "Bio". Contest - A competition, especially one in which entrants perform separately and are rated by judges. Forum Strategy Game - A complicated strategy game that puts you in the role of a commander/ruler. These are usually statistic based and can be challenging to beginners. As a general rule, A&R games have you focus on a single character or group whereas FSG games let you control larger groups. Game Creator - The creator of a game. He has the right to allow or refuse players. However, this is not a position that gives you higher standing over others. Out of Character/Context - Commonly known as the OOC, an OOC is discussion thread of a game. Quick Reply - Also know as Post After Me (PAM) games, they are fun and easy to play. Most of them have simple rules that do not require applications. Quick Reply games do not require OOC threads; discussion of these games belongs here in the General UCAG OOC. Introduction When you first post here, we encourage you to introduce yourself to the community. Here are some questions by steel blade that could help. What was the reason you came in to the UCaG Community in the first place? - (Was it to create a game or just to join in the fun?) In all of your creations, what was the game you're most proud of and why? - If applicable. What inspired you to make... your favorite created game? your first game? What was your first game you have played in the UCaG? What was your favorite game you have played in the UCaG? Acknowledgments Let's try this again. I am posting this as Darkflame was unable to because RL requires sleep. The previous thread became a cesspool of off-topicness, flaming and trolling. I would highly suggest that people who post from here on out stick to the topic at hand and leave off harassing and attacking each other. This kind of environment is not conducive to unity and the community importance. IF you come across rule violations, instead of contributing to it and encouraging it by posting, report it, ignore it and try to post on-topic without ANY referral to the rule breaking or rule breakers.
