DunkThatOreo -> Read this if you want to (11/7/2011 20:43:40)

Well i'm just about done with this game, horrible community, not enough communication from the ED team,
no creativity or originality, no fun, this game is just plain boring. Anyone who disagrees obviously hasn't been here for more
then a month. Not even fay beee could uplift my spirits when i come on the game or the forums. There is barely any hope for the COMMUNITY.
I believe is there much hope for the game but I don't know about the community. I'm not gonna go *if we could just come together as one!* because
that's cheesy and that isn't what i want. i don't want us to *unite* or any crap like that. I just want us to be able to carry a conversation without someone
blowing up and flaming people just for there opinions. I don't mind a little arguing but it has to be atleast sort of civilized. This community would also be better if people actually think out what they are going to say before saying random stuff that will guarantee you being flamed at. Basically all i'm asking for
is for us to be a little more civilized and thoughtful about what we do and say so we can get the fun back that we had in Beta. Also please just stop
with the tlm balance discussions because we all know they are overpowered and the ED team are going to nerf it really soon. If anyone agrees with me or
disagrees with me plese explain why because I want to see how we all think about this matter. I hope i through to atleast one person.

Cinderella -> RE: Read this if you want to (11/7/2011 21:52:11)

I'm sorry if you don't believe I communicate enough with you- I make an effort to post consistently in the forums and on Facebook, and we're working on furthering the story and bringing more original ideas into the game. Perhaps if you could give specifics of how I could improve in communicating with the community or be specific in why the game is, as you describe it "no fun and plain boring" it would be more useful to me than simply making that statement.

PivotalDisorder -> RE: Read this if you want to (11/7/2011 22:05:17)

the game isnt boring, it is you who have become bored by it, their is a big difference.

its just that online games break the rules by allowing the same game to run for years at a time, instead of moving on and making Epicduel 2
for example. why spend all that money updating and drawing better artwork etc when the existing game is still popular AND most importantly,
profitable. if ED was around in 10 years their would still be people playing it no doubt, and they wouldnt be bored.

go find another game man. nothing keeping you here :) I am playing something else right now because of the delay to tactical merc fixes and
as for the community, the game is pvp based, go check other forums for big pvp games and you will see the exact same thing or over-modding

Sparticus -> RE: Read this if you want to (11/7/2011 22:13:21)

Cindy, I had the misfortune of hanging around OZ 6 last week for a few hours each evening. Most of the players there, including the OP, just hang out and chat. The social atmosphere there was about as stimulating as watching paint dry. The conversations were circular arguments and adolescent ramblings. There was no coordinated activity, no place to direct all that pent up desire to fight and absolutely nothing game wise to achieve. Even I had little to do and I'm easily amused.

My suggestion would be to have some sort of unofficial contest, race, challenge or some way to burn off this pent up energy. Having a MOD organize some sort of event on occasions with little notice and a low rarity badge as a prize would sure stimulate the crowd. It would, at minimum, give the higher level players who are clearly bored, something to do.

I have a few more ideas but since this isn't a suggestion thread I'll hold them until asked.

Xx. Christian .xX -> RE: Read this if you want to (11/7/2011 22:36:28)

UMm cindy his not talking about you i think his talking about everyone (mods) i kinda agree with that, Cindy is the only one that is really active in forums in-game its Eventus Donna and wiseman and the admins barely communicate to us and during in-game mods are busy doing smoething and that something will be (......Fr33 V@r1VM.....F@ct10n....1Vs1....etc....)

nico0las -> RE: Read this if you want to (11/7/2011 23:13:36)

@Sparticus I gave up on Oz 6 a long time ago. It's always dead when I get there.

Us high levels need something to do. Reaching the level cap is a minor distraction, and clicking the same five buttons (1v1, malf, static charge, gun, massacre, repeat) gets old.
We need something to keep us entertained. Not like a daily leaderboard, where we need to make 400-500 wins in a day, but something smaller, something that makes us log on.

On the bright side, I have found things to entertain myself with, such as I have begun NPCing 45 wins a day, trying to switch from cyber hunter to anything, seeing as it's impossible to actually WIN as a cyber (Although, I did have a good day for 1v1, around 86%). I have also left my "Never buying achievements rule", and began actually buying some.

endtime -> RE: Read this if you want to (11/8/2011 1:02:06)

Just by noticing the forums, 95%+ of the people are unwilling to read a post more than a few sentences long. What does that tell you about the demographics?

Remorse -> RE: Read this if you want to (11/8/2011 1:26:20)

I agree with sparticus.

And maybe having more mentions for balance changes and ACTULY SOMEHTING DONE ABOUT THEM.
Will lead to less agruging => less angry players => happier communtiy.

Plus faction vs. faction torunements would solve most bordem while making the faction feature actully interesting.

Having said that I do like the game is goin towards quests but pherhaps consider never ending quests eg. farming quests, would certainly solve alot of so called credit issues as well.

PivotalDisorder -> RE: Read this if you want to (11/8/2011 1:35:50)

@Endtime: ty for not writing a second line cause I would of just skipped over it to the next post

Darkeroid -> RE: Read this if you want to (11/8/2011 1:55:09)

I have had enough of these! If you dont like the game, dont PLAY it!WHY PLAY A GAME WHEN YOU HATE IT!!!???
Also you guys are the ones killing the game!!!If you wanna leave, just leave. We just dont give a **** to these kind of people.

To mods:Bann me if you want to.i have had enough.

xxomegafaustxx -> RE: Read this if you want to (11/8/2011 2:53:19)

^Pointing fingers is not going to resolve any problem. I don't necessarily think he "Hates the game" moreover plays it because he "Hates it" but rather is protesting that there is a problem within the community.

This problem in the community can be seen in the nonvarium varium Gap, OPEDness and nerfs on classes, faction disorder +misconduct, dev's communication (delaying of updates and cyclic excuses), imbalance and bugs, etc.

I have to agree, ED is boring. Too repetitive, quests/missions can only be done once, no further incentive for higher levelled players other than ranking, etc. The game lacks substance and quality player vs. quantity players. There's simply nothing to do other than press buttons for "digital pixelated" wins.

Fay Beeee -> RE: Read this if you want to (11/8/2011 6:26:24)

Dunk sorry you are a bit bored.

I still go to Oz to chill (when I have time) but I have to say that it is not always easy to chill there.

Although there are still good moments.:)
Old friends/ new friends / fun chat/ Sparti dancing (LOL never thought I would ever see that) and Digi pops in regularly. Also we see a few mod (occasionally) but as soon as they appear they get swamped, so it mush be even harder for them to show up.

See you in Oz Dunk :) When we are both on.

DunkThatOreo -> RE: Read this if you want to (11/8/2011 7:04:37)

I don't get how you cheer me up so fast fay you're like a optimist magical being made of flowers and happyness all the time lol.
@darkeroid I remember I made a similar post just like that to someone and yes part of it is true but the game itself isn't exactly exciting.

Cinderella -> RE: Read this if you want to (11/8/2011 7:22:31)

one of the problems that I'm faced with when addressing complaints is that yes, you will have to wait a little longer for things besides simply dueling- there are some limitations to how quests work right now (which limits story progression), although that will be rectified soon.

Sparticus -> RE: Read this if you want to (11/8/2011 8:21:48)

Story line development takes time. In the meantime why not use ad hoc filler to tide the players over? You don't need to do something formal, just put something together quick and dirty and run it manually, ie: Design a badge worth 50 points and make it silly looking then have a trivia contest hosted by Hudef. Players can get to know him and he can give them free stuff. Everyone wins. Another example would be scavanger hunt. Choose an item from the list of weapons in a shop and players have to buy it, arm it and bring it back to you, first one to do it wins. Make the weapon available at the outpost or some obscure place and cheap-non varium. Perhaps even give anyone who completes the task a badge just for playing. I could think of 100 more "party game" type events to fill the time and make some good vibes start flowing around here. Time to promote your game and get online with the masses.

Darkeroid -> RE: Read this if you want to (11/8/2011 8:41:32)

@Oreo-Yes it is exciting.Just learn how to have fun in the game.

I am Primal -> RE: Read this if you want to (11/8/2011 10:46:48)

i agree with oreo and sparticus i'm sure i was your idea of fiesta :P

PivotalDisorder -> RE: Read this if you want to (11/8/2011 13:35:36)

events are an absolute nightmare. I used to run a great guild on another game and even running an event for twenty people was hell.
I was also a GM on a private server with a hundred or so people and running a fair event then was almost impossible.

it is not just a simple thing, doing events. if you don't announce it the majority of players, those who missed it complain, if you do announce
it then everyone turns up and it is lagsville, worse than anything you have ever seen on epicduel, would probably crash whichever server
the GM is hosting the event on, AND the majority will still miss out due to full server, and end up complaining.

For events to work, they need to be organised outside the game and need objectives anyone can complete on any server at any given time.
good luck trying to figure the logistics of that one out. how do other small flash based games do it?

Stabilis -> RE: Read this if you want to (11/8/2011 16:15:26)

"From laws there will sprout rules, from rules there will sprout maxims, from maxims there will sprout norms, from norms there will sprout order."

I believe that as much as players can do to behave civilly, there is not enough authority to moderate here. I believe the security measures need to improve.

DunkThatOreo -> RE: Read this if you want to (11/8/2011 17:05:36)

@Darkeroid- really? what fun can I have in ED, battling? Fighting people with the same build 90% of the time? Hang out with my friends who have
retired/quit a long time ago? Please explain to me where there is fun in ED. Not trying to be disrespectful to cindy or titan or nightwraith or whoever, it's
just plain fact.

DeathGuard -> RE: Read this if you want to (11/8/2011 17:10:28)

@DunkThatOreo: You know what I do when I'm bored of fighting str tlms in 1 vs 1, do a 2 vs 2 build and go and have fun in it, recently I got varium and bought new gun, armor and aux and I find that tlms aren't that hard if you're a full/almost full varium. I think that's what makes you bored, pwn the tlms with same builds, I must assure you that some of my friends are always willing to have a pretty nice challenge, also if you wanna challenge me anytime, just pm me.

AQWPlayer -> RE: Read this if you want to (11/8/2011 17:23:45)

Don't worry, it's even more boring when you're non varium and only have NPCs to battle. That's what I do everyday: NPC ;)

xxomegafaustxx -> RE: Read this if you want to (11/8/2011 23:44:30)

^Not boring, challenging. I think the correct word is "frustrating", when you know you're gonna lose due to varium imbalance and oped builds.

[EDIT] Wow Sparticus, I have to say that your ideas sound awesome (hopefully, the devs will see this). I do feel that ED needs something other than the already established PvP interface like (insert ideas here)-some cooperative faction, buddy missions, quests such as bludrut's dungeon, as well as competitions, organized factional wars, etc~

And if you guys ever played AQ/Battleon (The first game arguably by AE), you missed out on an awesome experience. Haha, the game makes me feel AQ nostalgic.
