DK -> Forward, in Reverse. (11/13/2011 0:49:31)

First off, since the major changes to the game and the addition of the 3 New Classes (So essentually, since Delta began) I havn't been playing as often, although, often enough to see the way builds work now-a-days, and the Nerfs to some great builds of the past, either way however it is slit up, I've recently found that the survival of "First Gen" Classes to be to adopt some of their old favorites, which, each in their own way have been able to regain some of their lost glory through new found outlets. Playing as a Bounty Hunter myself I've been using a build that is almost purely defensive, and upon looking into the skill trees and build make ups of Tech Mages and Mercs, it seems possible that just using older style builds (Perhaps those found in/directly after the Beta Launch)to be a way for some of the older classes to have their way in some effect. I'd like to see what how other people feel about looking backwards in order to make progress, from any and all classes.

It is possible but things have changed since beta,
Yes deffesive build may return but this is only because of the power or tank builds that are left.

If you dont have great defenses or great power you arnt gonna survive in the battles today in beta however their was many combinations of all types and that what I loved about it.

Personally I think it was the added amount of stats given from enhacancements that have led to the minimising of build options to either power or tanking.

Evidience of this includes when they first developed enhacements it was on primary wepons and then armour not long after this powerful piling build were obtaining high hp and great defences as well as piling for power, that is why I belive changes like agialty occrued soon after.

Then the addition to enahcments were aloud on guns and auxs, soon after that stat diminishing occrued to counteract these changes but the fact of the matter is along as these extra stats are here, i belive most old builds will never work agian unless they are like I stated revlolved around defences or power.

Beta was fun and wasn't OP'ed like now. Those were good times back then, which i believe you can remember most of.

^^ Ahaha, well honestly in Beta we had the Heal Loop Tech mage's (me :P) so i guess you could say that there was one OP class for each Testing phase [;)]

^I remember the smokescreen + massacre bounty combination killer BH build before the Heal-looping TM build took into effect. But beta was good times; I was soo excited and burned all my credits on a measible bike which I sold sadly cause I needed mula for enhancements haha.

If you look at it it's rather easy to see in the past every class once had a build that was considered massively OP'd, and each one currently has the potention to do it once more o.o Perhaps with a larger amount of inventive thinking though.

Well, hunter still uses the traditional strength build, with some variations (high massacre, mroe focus, etc).
Mercenary has gone down the drain.
I don't know why, but people have turned away from mage. It still seems good.
