Supporting the new suggestion. Seems good.
Unfortunately, a DC is not necessarily the player's fault.
It should only apply should the other player close the tab/browser, or server list.
Then, it should say <player's name> Has left the battle, character in control of <You/other user>. Win will not be added.
For those who DCed, <Player name> Has DCed. Player in control of <You/other user.> Win will count regardless.

If a person server lists, they should be unable to enter battle until the battle ends, as a sort of punishment.

@Below Make a requirement for full equipment, excluding armor, and a level requirement as well.

Jekyll -> RE: start punishing runners (11/16/2011 20:52:59)

My partner just ran in 2v2. Again. [:@] He was using an apprentice staff and nothing else. (1) He is a dummy (2) He didn't dare to play (3) He got DC'ed.

Going by (1), its against the rules, so ban him.
By (2), since he doesn't dare play, there is no need for him to play at all.
By (3), he shouldn't be playing with such a poor internet connection, it will just ruin more fights and make them unbalanced.

What should we do? Ban these people for 15-30 minutess, regardless of DC or no DC. I had enough. Of my 2v2 losses (329), I can guarantee that at least 75 of them are from running cowards. Another method is when it becomes a 1v2 situation, the 1 person should not get credited a loss, as it is not his fault at all.

State Alchemist -> RE: start punishing runners (11/17/2011 13:47:21)

as I am a lvl34, I am playing my non var alt once more (lvl 29). I notice people run if the battle wont favor them.

If it is OBVIOUS that people are bailing on purpose, ban them, don't keep giving benefit of doubt

Remorse -> RE: start punishing runners (11/17/2011 13:53:06)

Wow drinde talk about stealing my past ideas e.e

nico0las -> RE: start punishing runners (11/17/2011 19:18:08)

@State as I mentioned earlier, there's a difference between a battle not being in your favor, and it never being in your favor.
We learn from failure, true, but solid failure will get you nowhere.
1000 losses and 300 wins isn't exactly a solid record, and there are players (level 30s, mind you) with that record.
The problem isn't at the player level, but more so at the balance level.
First time I didn't blame the community. You're all welcome.

rej -> RE: start punishing runners (11/17/2011 20:19:52)

Punishing the runners: no

NOT punishing the player left: yes.

2v2 fights in which your helper does not participate in should automaticly count as:
10 credits
10 experience
1 battle token
5 influnece (optional)
0 loses.

DatGuardian -> RE: start punishing runners (11/17/2011 22:13:37)

After 5 times it is 15 miniuts to a hour then next 5 times it is half hour to 45 mins, should keep going up.

drinde -> RE: start punishing runners (11/18/2011 1:06:04)

LoL, I didn't even know you had that idea, Remorse.

You can have all the credit, I just want fair battles. =3

ND Mallet -> RE: start punishing runners (11/18/2011 1:10:30)

@remorse Does it really matter who suggested it? It's not like everytime that the feature is used your name will flash across the screen saying that you suggested it. Also, as far as I know people have suggested controlling the character that ran way back in Beta on the old EDF. It's not like it's unique to anyone at this point.

drinde -> RE: start punishing runners (11/19/2011 1:51:41)

Oh yeah, I forgot who, but this guy suggested this idea.

Matching players should be based on total amount of Stats, not LV ranges. A Max Difference of 20 Stats would be adequate, since 20 stat = 5 LVs.

Stabilis -> RE: start punishing runners (11/19/2011 8:55:34)

^ I don't understand that, is there a recognizable pattern for people with stats? As practically nobody will have the same build.

Yes. There is a very recognizable pattern. This is it: If you have more stats, you will probobly win.

Stabilis -> RE: start punishing runners (11/19/2011 14:40:17)

^ Erm, stats being proportional to character level, would that not be the same idea as organization by level? I'm confused.

drinde -> RE: start punishing runners (11/19/2011 21:25:04)

^
A Non-Var LV34 may have the same stats as a completely Enhanced LV29.

Gepard Acht -> RE: start punishing runners (11/19/2011 22:31:32)

^heck a lvl 28 out-stated me , and just yesterday mir and i got to a fight with two fully enhanced lvl 34 Tlms and we all know who wins
