My Name is Jake -> RE: =ED= EpicDuel DNs December 15th 2011 (12/17/2011 0:10:54)

It seems like they just started working on the already delayed release on thursday/friday and did nothing the rest of the week.

kaiseryeux21 -> RE: =ED= EpicDuel DNs December 15th 2011 (12/17/2011 0:12:41)

if its true what u say jake, it will make me really really sad..[:(][:(][:(]

FrostHS -> RE: =ED= EpicDuel DNs December 15th 2011 (12/17/2011 0:18:38)

@Jake they never do anything T_T They just come up with excuses

Evil Mage -> RE: =ED= EpicDuel DNs December 15th 2011 (12/17/2011 0:20:01)

As long as its today or tomorrow Im happy with them.

Nexus... -> RE: =ED= EpicDuel DNs December 15th 2011 (12/17/2011 0:29:07)

I can't believe all of you still tolerate this. Watch, this release gets postponed to next week, and when it finally does come, there will be no balance update, there will be no new weapons, the new war system will be broken, the new achievements won't drop, and the new leaderboard will cause lag to creep back into the game engine. Then we will get more excuses from the admins and the cycle will repeat itself. Don't believe it will happen? It has (many times), and you should not be surprised if it does again. Personally, I got tired of the same old excuses a year ago, and no Cindy, its not your fault, its the developers fault, or possibly AE's. Don't try and throw yourself under the bus like you usually do when releases go awry, its not worth it, and really you are not to blame.

*Can feel the power of the old frosty coming* :D

Retrosaur -> RE: =ED= EpicDuel DNs December 15th 2011 (12/17/2011 1:01:16)

Ain't that the truth..

I did this a couple of months ago. I ranted and ranted about how the release was going to be delayed one week. Every little kid was like "noooo that'll never happen the devs are just too awesome to do that". Then BAM, delayed.

Too many kids are getting deceived. Unfortunately such is the nature of ED.

raff -> RE: =ED= EpicDuel DNs December 15th 2011 (12/17/2011 1:04:19)

I really feel bad for the developers being put down like this, but there's some truth to all these complaints. Don't make promises you can't keep, also take a month off just making balance updates and fixing bugs.

Evil Mage -> RE: =ED= EpicDuel DNs December 15th 2011 (12/17/2011 1:05:13)

I better wake up to a decent release if I dont....There's gonna be a giant rant.

Retrosaur -> RE: =ED= EpicDuel DNs December 15th 2011 (12/17/2011 1:08:47)

@EvilMage
Better do your ranting now. We all know what to expect.

From Twitter
quote:

Practel
Gotta hit the hay! So tired.

Means two things:
A) They've finally finished testing
B) They've quit and they're delaying until next Friday.

By all means, B seems to be the most logical test.

Charfade -> RE: =ED= EpicDuel DNs December 15th 2011 (12/17/2011 1:17:55)

^ Practel went to bed because he had an extremely long day, and spend the better half the morning traveling

The rest of us are still at it squashing the bugs!

Laces -> RE: =ED= EpicDuel DNs December 15th 2011 (12/17/2011 1:21:49)

At you clowns, do you have any idea on coding? None for most of you. (I know you do Hype). Don't act all smart and attack the Devs because you honestly have no idea what your talking about. I have no clue either. Thats why I don't attack the Devs like half of you idiots. If you have no knowledge in the field, you shouldn't be talking.

Frost, want to back up your accusations? Because anyone can point fingers. I could say your some fat loner on a computer screen raging because you have nothing to do but play an online browser game. But can I back up that statement? Nope. So I don't say anything. Understand that I mean no offense, but I'm pretty sure that no one cares about your ranting. There's plenty of things in life to do besides wait and rage on a computer game. Honestly.

Retrosaur -> RE: =ED= EpicDuel DNs December 15th 2011 (12/17/2011 1:22:27)

@Charfade
Now that's something to look forward to, communication from the devs.

Kudos to Charfade for actually listening (although that doesn't really quell my anger about the release, at least it makes us feel noticed).

+1 fame :D

See, in this age, communication is extremely vital to keep a game running. It allows the players to feel like they are worth something, and to increase feedback between both customer and provider.

Now, if only we could get a few more posts. I know that if I asked too much of your team to post updates, then nothing would get done at all, so I'll just shut up for now....

@Laces
Dawwwwww thanks :D
I really wish I could be a good programmer/designer, but for now, I'm trying to become a jack of all trades. Not a whole lot, mind you, just a tidbit:
Adobe CS3
Adobe Photoshop
Premiere Pro
GarageBand (that's right, i said it)
Autodesk Maya
JAVA
C++
C#
Python

But it's relatively bad. I'd probably say I would be nowhere near Titan. Or Hudelf (whoever he is, seeing he doesn't have a twitter account).

goldslayer1 -> RE: =ED= EpicDuel DNs December 15th 2011 (12/17/2011 1:28:54)

maybe instead of spending money on ED, i should save up a punching bag. so when ED has a delay or screws up. i take my anger andd frustration on the punching bag for a week. i might have to buy a new one every month tho :/ and they cost $400

Clutch -> RE: =ED= EpicDuel DNs December 15th 2011 (12/17/2011 1:32:08)

@Laces: No need to call anyone an idiot. Yeah you're right I have no idea how hard coding may be, but as an Economics/Finance major, I do know something on the business side. And in my eyes, as paying customers of this game, they have every right to complain if they're doing so in a calm mannered way, some of which I'll admit are not. The VERY first thing I learned in Business school and the most important was that a business must keep their current clients happy, because without them, they are nothing, something of which I feel ED has not done a good job of here today with a lack of communication and accountability. If a business can't keep a promise, don't make it in the first place.

Retrosaur -> RE: =ED= EpicDuel DNs December 15th 2011 (12/17/2011 1:34:25)

@Clutch
ED relies on their "loyal" fan base to keep them running. Eventually, the enthusiasm of such consumers will wear out, but in the meantime, they still have a decent-size player base who are still wholly devoted to their game. Mind you, most players of ED do not actually read the forums (less likely to be swayed by the opinions of others).

Charfade -> RE: =ED= EpicDuel DNs December 15th 2011 (12/17/2011 1:39:45)

XD I've been lurking >_>

Also I have been updating my Twitter when I can and answering questions when I can. There are somethings I'm not able to answer but for the most part I do what I can. We are all on testing atm, the list is huge!! Normally we only release one or 2 new npc's only a hand ful of new weps and missions.... we really blew the gasket on this one. With 8 new npc's, 6 of which are fightable, missions for each side, 10 new earn able achievements, a newly codeifyed Frysteland themed leaderboad, frost weps from last year, 3 bombifyed cut scenes, not to mention expanding Frysteland including 10 new screens...

I know I'm probably missing something...

buy ya, we are getting close! wont be going to bed till its out!

back to testing

Retrosaur -> RE: =ED= EpicDuel DNs December 15th 2011 (12/17/2011 1:42:13)

Thanks for the communication! Glad to know you do what you must because you can!

Best of luck with testing. For now, I'll hold off on the barrage of posts....

funny, i was told the testing team didn't need any more help. and that they were full already.
seems like you guys need help after all.

Big words, promises if you will, ones I only hope you can keep.

Good luck Charfade and the Team, and please keep us up to date. On your word I (and probably many others) have decided to stay up along with you.

Clutch -> RE: =ED= EpicDuel DNs December 15th 2011 (12/17/2011 1:43:58)

@Hyped Which is the sad part, this game is becoming filled with children who cannot discern how much they are being misled here. Lets face the facts, the game is attracting a younger audience. And it shows, the players have become more immature, I cannot tell you how many threads i've read about people calling each other names and childish things, and this can be explained economically! The game has become too expensive and an older persons demand for time is much more elastic than a childs! Moreover ED is relying on asymmetric information and the fact that kid's parents will buy them what they want and never stop by to check if their kid's game is being 'updated'. Its a sad but true digression, this game is becoming a children's game, which stinks :/.

** I know i'm sounding like a downer, but I think it needed to be said. On the bright side, I am excited for the update and i'd like to thank Cindy and Charfade for communicating :).

Retrosaur -> RE: =ED= EpicDuel DNs December 15th 2011 (12/17/2011 1:45:27)

In the end though, Charfade and the rest will succumb to fatigue. You can't really go without sleep (even if you decide to take large doses of energy drinks).

However, i'm not discouraging anyone. I'm just hoping you pros can finish up before you really begin to feel tired...that's when you succumb to the sleep

Charfade -> RE: =ED= EpicDuel DNs December 15th 2011 (12/17/2011 1:47:01)

everything for the most part is working. not really any bugs atm, just making sure everything is clickable, all buttons are working... that kind of thing

so it is safe to say I wont be going to bed till its out :)

goldslayer1 -> RE: =ED= EpicDuel DNs December 15th 2011 (12/17/2011 1:47:22)

@hyped
dont u need an ID that says ur 18+ to buy that game anywhere?
so technically it isn't a kid game.
altho heres my question.
if a game is going to be rated for adults anyway, why hold off on things like language or bloody scenes?
holding off wont make ur rated adults go down to PG 13

Retrosaur -> RE: =ED= EpicDuel DNs December 15th 2011 (12/17/2011 1:51:34)

@Goldslayer1
Though this is offtopic, I am 18, so....yesh, I got it for myself, but I have friends who are 16 and still got it. I'm in California, and recently there was a law that was shot down that effectively wanted games that were Mature to be only sold to people under 18 WITH a guardian. Now that law is gone, any minor can buy the latest GTA....

Anyways, best of luck (i keep repeating myself ._.)

:D
