Most of you probably know me as a very pessimistic kind of guy. I regularly troll on these forums, and I rant and rave about what the devs have & haven't be doing and whatnot.
However, in the spirit of the holidays, I'd like to kind of reflect back on the year.....I know, some things just never turned out right. But it's always nice to look back and see where we were one year ago, and how things changed.

For one thing, though I have sometimes insulted the staff, and for that, I apologize, I'd like to thank them for "introducing" new features that have helped to improve gameplay. It's not everyday we can thank the devs (maybe this can be a Dev Appreciation Week idk) I'd like you, as a community, to post new "features" that were introduced in the year (make it easier on Cindy :D).

It's okay for you to say something like "Eggzookas - Most OP wep". That's fine by me. But don't turn this into a balance discussion. What I want is a simple thread to reflect on ED's ever changing personality (except for that pay-to-win, but what can you do?)

People who are discussing on this topic, please refrain from sarcasm. I know some of the new features brought about great disgust to you (and me). However, I'd like you to post your viewpoint on certain "feature" introduced in the 2011 year....(without any profanity please :D)

- Fame
Although this feature was supposed to bring "light" to "special" players, it brought a lot of fame begging. Still a nifty feature (for extra cheevos :D)

-2v1 Boss Battles
I enjoyed this immensely. I always liked the idea of pairing up with a friend to take down a boss. Though there have been relatively few bosses, I feel that it still worked out in the end (moar bosses please?)

For me the greatest 2 moments of 2011 were the introduction of mutating items (saves money!) and 2v1/1v2 battles.

agreed. 2v1 boss fights are easily one of my favorite features. theres allways the huge tension buildup associated will all boss npc releases, followed by the mad rush to be the first player(s) to deafeat it. Quite fun.

best weap feature introduce has got to be the egg zookas. They were just pure awesomeness despite I missed the chance at getting it ><

Frankly, who can ever forget Power Hour? That thing has helped me level up multiple times, and has made the game quite fun in fact. Please keep commenting!

The retrain revamp has done wonders for saving time, one of the highlights of the year for me.

Well, everything is going to get nerfed eventually; nothing stays OPED for a very long time.

To me, I especially missed it when Titan and Nightwraith posted on the old forums of ED. Looking back introspectively, it felt as though they were part of the community as they actually engaged in talking with some members about some of the releases. Now Titan and Nightwraith are hardly seen in-game or in-forums, they practical disappeared. However, we got great mods like Cinderella and Ashari to fill in the shoes of NW and titan. It's better than nothing I suppose.

My favorite changes were some little balance changes which arnt nerfs or sudden decesions to add requirments, simply changes for the better,

Some include making the obviolsly Oped combined with tank robots now being only able to do one move per 3 turns.
I also think skills being scaled by level was also great, it has helped to revive the use of many attack skills in battle such as multi, supercharge, overload as well as some new useful attack skills firball, and plasma cannon, it does wonder for variety and therefore balance.

I do hope they continue to increase the scale at which skills improve by level for many skills as their is still a list of basically useless skills in combat at high levels and this should not be the case.
These skills include stun grenade, plasma grenade, field commander, intimidate. Many other are also boderline useless but arguably not.


Balance changes like these should be done much more often and are problery the most needed thing for this game right now.
Its all about attacking the problem at the core rather then preventing it for short periods of time.

The introduction of Character Pages, pretty nifty ideas at the time.

Also, the fact that they introduced weapons with "specials", like increased hit chance, crit chance, stun chance, and other various special effect chances.

Well, first off, 2v1 is, although broken for the non variums, immensely fun and is countless hours of enjoyment.
Second, I should say character pages are definitely a plus.
Third, fame. Lord I hate it, but I think it turned out for the better.
Fourth, the retrain revamp and skill scaling.
Last but not least, the heal nerf.

Again, I thank the devs for putting up with our crap. I can't tell you how many times I'VE lost my patience with this community, but you are quite an example.

New classes were classy

Missions are magic

Inventory ingenious

Character pages rages

New War gets a four (out of four)

International interconnected

two vs one is fun

Nightwraiths Birthday was more than okay

Fross stuff is boss stuff

Harvest fest was the best

Talk like a pirate day is hard to say

New fortune city is not a pity

DragonCon lasted long

Hudalf is like Rudalf (showing the way)

Thats about it for Delta

Definitely gotta say i love the new map button. I'm not completely sure that's from 2011 since I'm just recently coming back from an "extended" break, but I'm sure it should at least get an honorable mention.
