Yes its been in the rules since August, when the new =ED= GD moderator, Lord Barrius came into power.
He changed the rules slightly saying that asking for fame is considered as begging.

Impressive. I make one little change and I'm Hitler now? Goodness, you obviously don't know me very well. I suggest you talk to some of AQ's players and ask them how "oppressive" I really am.

In the meantime, to answer your question, F4F was removed because it was essentially forum-legalized begging. Many people had expressed disapproval with the F4F thread and with fame in general, and the thread's very existence was a violation of the forum's rule not to beg for in-game benefits, so I decided to get rid of it.

Please ask forum-related questions in the designated locations next time. And please, if you disagree with any of my changes in forum policy, feel free to PM me. I appreciate input from the players of this game as to how we can keep the forums a constructive place for our users to post in, and will certainly be willing to explain any policy I have set into place. Thank you!
