Remorse -> ED's Tipping point. (12/23/2011 10:14:23)

What do you guys think caused ED to drop in entertainment and pretty much leave a sad, angry but very patient community? ( if we werent patient we wouldnt be here.)

Personally I think it was the creation of enhacments, not only did if ruin balance but it pretty much doubles the price of this game.

People constantly agrue that You dont HAVE to buy enhacments, but you sorta have to to last one second with the terriable balance leading to constant STR builds.

I think enhacments would be OK if they were some how made Not a commpetitive advanatge in battle not only would it solve balance but it would solve price issue aswell. (I have come up with alot of idea to solve this PM me if you want to know them)

Another possible tipping point would be the creation of TLMs.
I honestly have no idea how that could possibly pass balance testing.... If they even tested them at all perhaps it was the wrong approach as you dont need testing rather logic to determine that TLMs ARE NOT BALANCED!

The good thing about tipping points however is they have the potential to rise agian......... Lets all hope ED starts rising.
Anyway what is your opinion of the tipping point for ED discuss.

I agree, ED's Tipping point was when they added enhancements to armors, guns and auxes. Giving primary weapons 3-6 enhancements was pretty good idea, but they ruined it by adding more enhancements.

AGreed ^

I could live with it being just primiaries or armours it was almost good infact. BUt having them on guns and auxes...... really? It was just asking for trouble.

hardcore59 -> RE: ED's Tipping point. (12/23/2011 11:51:09)

aside from the obvious... alot of the older and nicer players started quitting and nao we have an influx of rude players, alot of the ones i fight who think they have the right to call someone a noob and talk smack (at the end of the match) like little...well i won't say it, but in retrospect, they are the noobs i have a vid that i need to upload to youtube about some guy calling me a noob yet he wouldn't fight me and if it happens to you as much as happens to me (98.3 times i don't even say anything the rest i say like bacon strips or something and they get angry?) but y'know it gets ridicuMous i actually think i rage more off ED than I do Call Of Duty that's not a good sign at all

v that too

Laces -> RE: ED's Tipping point. (12/23/2011 12:02:50)

Merge with AE. This game was a game meant for much older people before AE merged with ED and therefore giving it a much younger player base. Also, people came in with expectations of weekly releases and the Devs had to try to appease all those newer players and that eventually led to the situation we have today.

Plus, the players. Who demanded Class Change? Players. Who demanded Enhancements? Players. Its not the Devs fault. I don't blame them for not listening to us anymore. Our ideas ruined the game :3

IsaiahtheMage -> RE: ED's Tipping point. (12/23/2011 12:07:25)

I think it was all the money-based events,delays, and lack of balance that caused all of this.

kittycat -> RE: ED's Tipping point. (12/23/2011 13:55:34)

Probabable factors could include misbalanced classes, too many enhancements, etc.

rej -> RE: ED's Tipping point. (12/23/2011 15:00:01)

There was no true tipping point; It has basicly been a slow, steady decline into destitution that began in gamma.

MirageD -> RE: ED's Tipping point. (12/23/2011 15:02:40)

i think part of our problem....is a lot of ED mods....play AQW...and prefer to spend their time there

T.600 -> RE: ED's Tipping point. (12/23/2011 22:05:30)

I agree with both of the issues that you presented Remorse. The other one has got to be the delayed updates. Updates give people something to do they make the game improve. A lot of people look forward to coming online each Friday to check out the update. Sadly, when it's delayed people have nothing to do and no motivation to log on. Just look at the war. The amount of players who are online have increased because of the recent consistent updates.

Yu84 -> RE: ED's Tipping point. (12/23/2011 23:42:51)

Personally, I think its close to impossible for an underpowered nonvar class (Bm, Merc, etc.) to beat a full var overpowered class(Tlm) of the same level without a great deal of luck and/or stuns unless the TLM is an extremely unskilled player who is making truly bad decisions.

Nub Apocalypse -> RE: ED's Tipping point. (12/24/2011 0:06:18)

I don't think it was much to do with the updates really, I still think the devs are doing a great job. IMO, this is just caused by the natural boredom which grows within players. This game lacks a sense of captivity over time, after playing for so long, it isn't surprising that players aren't obsessed with it anymore. All this game has to offer is fighting and missions which involve fighting/moving, or character customisation if you will. Why many people have been playing this game for so long and still haven't quit is because they have something in this game they value, normally their friendship with other players in the game. I'm sure most of you will agree talking and chatting with you friends is much more exciting than the monotonous processes of constant battling.

On the other hand, you are kind of right with the enhancements, I would even say it triples my investment into this game, possibly more. Back in Beta, I could honestly say that I can last a whole year with just one 10K varium package, but now, I would buy 3-4/yr. However, I don't really agree with this being a cause of the decreasing attractiveness of this game, what this only does to me if make me feel in a situation where my expenditure is limited, and I have to buy carefully.

+1

Stabilis -> RE: ED's Tipping point. (12/24/2011 12:57:22)

Its kinda silly that only 3 or 4 stat points can add a whole benefit to your character (+1 strength damage, +1 defence, +1 resistance, +1 support damage [plus luck]). These possibilities are at the cost of ONLY 3 OR 4 STAT POINTS. And we have a carp-load of enhancements.

AQWPlayer -> RE: ED's Tipping point. (12/24/2011 16:00:12)

^
Plus the base stat advantage that varium weapons have.
