Star Captain Extreme Challenge Part 2: A Walkthrough

Note to all: The builds included in the following walkthrough may contain perma-rare/promotional weapons and/or mechas, an alternative to the build will be posted as soon as 1 is found. Also this quest is recommended for players of Level 40+ as the enemies do not scale and require certain weapons to beat them.

Simu-Nosferatu
A typical pure damager enemy, which increases its damage each turn. However having 0 Immobility Resistance makes stunning weapons very useful
Berzerk Trigger - Bonus or Boost Nerf
Berzerk Effect - Deals all Critical Damage for the rest of the fight.
Immobility increased to 100
Overrides all existing Bonus, Nerf, Dots and other effects.
Ways to beat Simu-Nosferatu:
1) Stunning - As it has 0 Immobility Resistance, stunning weapons are very useful against it, including but not limited to the only Level 3 Stun Gun RC1.
2) Out-damaging - In battle, one of the ways to defeat your enemy is to completely overpower him, which is what will be achieved with this type of build.

Stunning Builds:
Type 1 - Kelvin Head Stun Gun Lock
Chassis: A mecha BD weapon which can stun the enemy (e.g. Khael series/ Frankenmecha OC series)
FA: Any stunning FA (e.g. Shining Electron Sniper/ Glowing Frying Pan/ Corrupted Drakel P-VW__F series)
BA: Stun Gun RC1
FS: Any FS weapon that have gives a Passive additional EP regen (e.g. Rune series / Perfect Witch Launcher series) or Any FS which gives you a Passive Efficiency buff (e.g. Mana Piercer F series)
BS: Earth Day Solar Panels series
HD: Kelvin Head series (perferably Kelvin-Zero for the stability, but other variations will also work with certain amount of luck)
Stats: Efficiency
Mods: EP Boosting Mods (e.g. Invisible Poultice series/ Collection Box series/ Star Ring series)

Activation Order/Explanation: BD > FA > BA > HD > Repeat until the enemy is dead or you run out of EP in which case use the BS
The main focus of this build is to use the stunning weapons reapeatedly with the HD to reset all of the Cooldowns. However if you have to make sure that none of your stunning weapons nerf his Boost or Bonus, which will trigger his Berzerk ability.

Type 2 - Full Stunlock
Chassis: A mecha BD weapon which can stun the enemy (e.g. Khael series/ Frankenmecha OC series)
FA: Any stunning FA (e.g. Shining Electron Sniper/ Glowing Frying Pan/ Corrupted Drakel P-VW__F series)
BA: Stun Gun RC1
FS: Any FS weapon that have gives a Passive additional EP regen (e.g. Rune series / Perfect Witch Launcher series) or Any FS which gives you a Passive Efficiency buff (e.g. Mana Piercer F series)
BS: Earth Day Solar Panels series
HD: Disc Driver C-series
Stats: Efficiency
Mods: EP Boosting Mods (e.g. Invisible Poultice series/ Collection Box series/ Star Ring series)

Activation Order/Explanation: BD > FA > BA > HD > Repeat until the enemy is dead or you run out of EP in which case use the BS
The main focus of this build is to use the stunning weapons reapeatedly like the previous stunning build, the only difference is that instead of using only a maximum of 3 stunning weapons, most weapons on the BD are able to stun. However if you have to make sure that none of your stunning weapons nerf his Boost or Bonus, which will trigger his Berzerk ability.

Out-damaging builds:
Type 1 - Pure damage
Chassis: A mecha BD weapon with high damage and no Bonus or Boost nerfs (e.g. TerriFi series/ GLaDERP Security Model A series)
FA: High damaging FAs (e.g. Salvaged Deluxeblade series/ Sniega Liegabals series)
BA: High damaging BAs (e.g. Nephyrisis Embrace series/ Salvaged Quadmissile/ (Salvage) SnowZooka series/Default on TerriFi series)
FS: Any FS weapon that have gives a Passive additional EP regen (e.g. Rune series / Perfect Witch Launcher series)/Any FS which gives you a Passive Efficiency buff (e.g. Mana Piercer F series)
BS: Any high damaging BS that increases its own damage and/or its bonus (preferably Master Chef series/ Graphel ALB series)/ Earth Day Solar Panels series
HD: Salvaged Skull series
Stats: Efficiency
Mods: EP Boosting Mods (e.g. Invisible Poultice series, Collection Box series or Star Ring series)

Activation Order/Explanation:
If using the TerriFi series as the Chassis:
HD > BA > FA > BA > BD
The main point of this build is to basically out damage Simu-Nosferatu. With the Salvaged Skull series's instant +40 Boost, you can quickly utilize many high damaging weapons in order to out damage it.

Type 2 - Spam damage
Chassis: A mecha BD weapon with high damage and no Bonus or Boost nerfs (e.g. TerriFi series/ GLaDERP Security Model A series)
FA: Any FA that increases its own Damage (and Bonus) per use (preferably Sniega Liegabals series)
BA: Any high damaging BAs that deals massive damage or increases its own Damage (and Bonus) per use(preferably Nephyrisis Embrace series/ Salvaged Quadmissile series/ Dragonfist)
FS: Any FS weapon that have gives a Passive additional EP regen (e.g. Rune series / Perfect Witch Launcher series)/Any FS which gives you a Passive Efficiency buff (e.g. Mana Piercer F series)/Any high damaging FS (preferably Chibi Dragonoid)
BS: Any high damaging BS that increases its own Damage (and Bonus) per use (preferably Master Chef series/ Graphel ALB series)/ Earth Day Solar Panels series
HD: Salvaged Skull series
Stats: Efficiency
Mods: EP Boosting Mods (e.g. Invisible Poultice series/ Collection Box series/ Star Ring series)

Activation Order/Explanation:
HD > Master Chef series/Graphel ALB series/Sniega Liegabals series/Salvaged Quadmissile series > Master Chef series/Graphel ALB series/Sniega Liegabals series/Salvaged Quadmissile series (repeat until HD finishes Cooldown, in which case use the HD again)
Not much thought, just by using the Salvage Skull series, it allows your Weapons that increases their own damage to deal even more damage!

Type 3 - Healing Spam
Chassis: A mecha with a BD weapon that heals (e.g. Hunter Eidolon)
FS: Any FS weapon that heals you for quite an amount (e.g. Ticklish Zorbo/ Rune series/ Mana Piercer F series/ Chibi Dragonoid)
BS: Any high damaging BS that increases its own Damage (and Bonus) per use (preferably Master Chef series/ Graphel ALB series)/ Earth Day Solar Panels series
HD: Salvaged Skull series
Stats: Efficiency
Mods: EP Boosting Mods (e.g. Invisible Poultice series/ Collection Box series/ Star Ring series)

Activation Order/Explanation:
HD > Master Chef series/Graphel ALB series/Sniega Liegabals series/Salvaged Quadmissile series > Master Chef series/Graphel ALB series/Sniega Liegabals series/Salvaged Quadmissile series (repeat until HD finishes Cooldown or your HP is quite low, in which case use the BD or any healing weapons for a heal)
Similar to the above mentioned Spam Damage build, this one utilizes one or two of the spam weapons mentioned before and combines them together with some healing weapons to survive a bit easier.

Type 4 - Stunning Spam
Chassis: A mecha BD weapon which can stun the enemy (e.g. Khael series/ Frankenmecha OC series)
FA: Any FA that increases its own Damage (and Bonus) per use (preferably Sniega Liegabals series)/Any stunning FA (e.g. Shining Electron Sniper/ Glowing Frying Pan/ Corrupted Drakel P-VW__F series)
BA: Any high damaging BAs that deals massive damage or increases its own Damage (and Bonus) per use(preferably Nephyrisis Embrace series/ Salvaged Quadmissile series/ Dragonfist)
FS: Any FS weapon that heals you for quite an amount (e.g. Ticklish Zorbo/ Rune series/ Mana Piercer F series/ Chibi Dragonoid)
BS: Any high damaging BS that increases its own Damage (and Bonus) per use (preferably Master Chef series/ Graphel ALB series)/ Earth Day Solar Panels series
HD: Salvaged Skull series
Stats: Efficiency
Mods: EP Boosting Mods (e.g. Invisible Poultice series/ Collection Box series/ Star Ring series)

Activation Order/Explanation:
BD > HD > Master Chef series/Graphel ALB series/Sniega Liegabals series/Salvaged Quadmissile series > Master Chef series/Graphel ALB series/Sniega Liegabals series/Salvaged Quadmissile series (repeat until HD finishes Cooldown)
Basically the Spamming build, but with some stunning weapons thrown in.

Simu-Vampire Minion
A high damage dealing enemy that causes a HP and EP IDoT on your for 99 turns and cannot be stunned.
Berzerk Trigger - Defense nerf or DoTs
Berzerk Effect - Deals all Critical Damage for the rest of the fight.
Overrides all existing Bonus, Nerf, Dots and other effects.
Ways to beat Simu-Nosferatu:
1) Out damaging it - There is no other way you can beat the Simu-Vampire Minion as with all other methods will just get ripped apart by the IDoT. Stunning does not work as it is un-stunnable with its own effect.

mechquestlord -> RE: Star Captain Extreme Challenge Part 2: A Walkthrough (1/1/2012 15:39:00)

FYI the dharmahp equipped with the head and shoulder gift items from a couple days ago or so and a balldrop mace can stunlock indefinitely and therefore should be mentioned here.

Thiefboy109 -> RE: Star Captain Extreme Challenge Part 2: A Walkthrough (1/1/2012 18:15:12)

@MQL
Those are perma rare, (well not balldrop, but the gifts) and therfore shoud not be mentioned. I'm in the opinion that it's ok to use seasonal rares, because otherwise it would be exceedingly hard.

@Selutu
Nice guide. It's written well. Instead of the (Weapon1 or Weapon2) all over the place, I think it would be better to list them like this, best to worse: Weapon1 / Weapon2 / Weapon 3. I just think it makes it easier to read.

@below
Read, I did indeed say that it was not rare. Plus I have the salvagable version, so I know. Master Chef and Roasted Helm are both perma rare, so they can't be in the guide.

mechquestlord -> RE: Star Captain Extreme Challenge Part 2: A Walkthrough (1/1/2012 18:35:34)

FYI balldrop mace is a salvageable weapon. the best alternative is the spikey bull mace. also the new head is RIDICULOUS. i pwnd the simu-nosferatu with it and a master chief.

stealthwings -> RE: Star Captain Extreme Challenge Part 2: A Walkthrough (1/2/2012 4:58:26)

Two errors I saw:
First,
quote:

Enemies does not scale

Should be enemies do not scale.
Second, seed shooter is a BS, not an FS.

Selutu -> RE: Star Captain Extreme Challenge Part 2: A Walkthrough (1/2/2012 5:30:04)

Thanks you stealthwings and Theifboy, credits added as well.

mechquestlord -> RE: Star Captain Extreme Challenge Part 2: A Walkthrough (1/2/2012 17:53:50)

FYI master chef is SEASONAL RARE. that means it WILL return next year.

Thiefboy109 -> RE: Star Captain Extreme Challenge Part 2: A Walkthrough (1/2/2012 18:35:08)

@MQL
Actually I knew that, I just forgot when posting. (And you never know for sure, do you? =/ )
Still, Roasted Helm is perma rare, so the build doesn't apply. Oni would work though.

mechquestlord -> RE: Star Captain Extreme Challenge Part 2: A Walkthrough (1/2/2012 18:39:28)

i guess.

pity roasted helm is rare. ah well. best substitute is an evil oni (or something like it) to help MC buff up.

Thiefboy109 -> RE: Star Captain Extreme Challenge Part 2: A Walkthrough (1/7/2012 13:10:15)

A useful weapon that I like using on Simu-Nosferatu for both damage and healing builds is Chibi Dragonoid. It doesn't cause berzerk, and it has good damage as well as HoT. HoT can be useful for pure damage, basically buys you an extra turn to kill it.

As for Minion... he's a tough enemy. Imbiber works great, but it is a rare... I'll go test some stuff and get back to you about him.

Selutu -> RE: Star Captain Extreme Challenge Part 2: A Walkthrough (1/7/2012 20:40:30)

@Theifboy109
Thanks for the suggestion, I'll go put it on... And by any chance do you have a screenshot of beating the Simu-Nosferatu with a stun-locking build? I can't really take the screenshot since I ran out of inventory spaces...

Thiefboy109 -> RE: Star Captain Extreme Challenge Part 2: A Walkthrough (1/7/2012 21:55:08)

@Selutu
Here's stunlock picture: http://i1207.photobucket.com/albums/bb476/thiefboy109/Simu-NosferatuKilledwithKhaelViper.png
An older picture, before I had X-Boost and before the SC Bonus that came with new menu stuff.

Napalm Torment has extra EP Regen, that's why it's on it.

Selutu -> RE: Star Captain Extreme Challenge Part 2: A Walkthrough (1/7/2012 22:00:44)

Thanks! Added and credited... And btw what is the HD? Forget it... I recognize it now... Kelvin Zero...
