goldslayer1 -> Run Button (1/27/2012 1:43:44)

i think the run button should be put back into 1 vs 1 matches.
why?
lets see,
enemy goes first, he crits, on my next turn i get blocked = automatic loss
so instead of wasting another 60-80 second on the match only to loose. i can just end it early and not waste my time.

what do u guys think?
would the run button make things faster?

Adam in Wonderland -> RE: Run Button (1/27/2012 1:46:46)

2vs2 is problematic enough as is. Adding the run button again would make that worse. I know you meant 1vs1, but they would have to use it for all battles if added. Do not support.

so u support players having to start off an an unjust match and then watch them suffer another minute of injustices?
the run button would solve that.

kittycat -> RE: Run Button (1/27/2012 1:49:27)

Well, i dont support because if people were about to lose, they would click the run button. The purpose of battling is to make one person standing and one person fainted, not being interrupted by the fear of loss.

the run button already gives u a loss.
ur just not wasting time for a lost match that was predetermined from round 1.

and if ur fighting a str CH and he goes first, crits u, and block u the turn after that and then blocks staic. u know u already lost.

kittycat -> RE: Run Button (1/27/2012 1:57:56)

@Goldslayer1, even though you know you are going to lose, putting the run button would still put you in a losing position, but you shouldn't be jumping to conclusions when battling, and it will ruin the purpose of battling. The purpose of battling is to win or lose. If you think losing is irritating to you, don't do random battling.

goldslayer1 -> RE: Run Button (1/27/2012 2:04:50)

i dont even know why i bother when speaking to people who dont understand how unlucky i am..

can a mod please delete this thread? or lock it?

XxKirachanXx -> RE: Run Button (1/27/2012 2:14:32)

I can sympathize with that I suppose.
More then once I was ditched by a teamate in an already grim look juggernaut battle during power hour.
I can think of the credits and exp I would have earned if I wasn't forced to hit the refresh button or bear through a juggernaut taunting me by healing, when the most damage I could do is 3...

Goony -> RE: Run Button (1/27/2012 2:20:27)

There is a run button, just click setting and change server ;)

goldslayer1 -> RE: Run Button (1/27/2012 2:22:52)

yeah then i have to choose server than char. and takes about another 30-40 seconds.
and then to go back to the NPC spot i was in.
i prefer a run button. instant drop back to where u were.

altho server change its what im using today whenever i go second and both malf and static gets blocked in a row.
(it happened more often than u think)

how bad is my luck?
a lvl 29 with just armor and claws, beat me.

he was a BH non var and he beat my ch. with lower dex and support.
he critted 5 times in a row. and blocked 7 times.
i had to use 2 heals, and 2 boosters.
and with 139 hp, i still lost.

Adam in Wonderland -> RE: Run Button (1/27/2012 2:45:24)

5 crits and 7 blocks is not possible unless they are hacking. Especially if they have no stat bonuses from an aux or gun. This is why I stick to npcs. Examples of extreme luck. It's not statistically possible which means cheating. There are some who practice hacks. Which the staff does very little to prevent or stop till the damage is already done, see the faction flags as an example. That's the sad truth. My advice, npc.

i said this before that it may be a hack.
i was told my some that i was paranoid or crazy. and that hacks didn't exist.

and many others just said i was unlucky.
this isn't the first time i been critted 5 times or blocked 7 times.
(high amount of times i been blocked was 9 back in gamma. 7-8 blocks has happened many times to me tho)

to put it simple, a non var is better than me. because atleast he doesn't loose by luck but by stat disadvantage >.>

Adam in Wonderland -> RE: Run Button (1/27/2012 3:00:56)

Gold, you were beaten by a hacker, a cheater. I assure you this was the case based on what you are saying statistically. Sorry for your loss. I know for a fact that there are hackers out there which is why I only npc. Losing from normal luck factors, mismatches and disconnects is bad enough but to someone who is obviously cheating to win is no fun at all. Again 15 npcs an hour is the way to go. Random 1v1 are rarely fair battles as much as the staff would like people to believe they are.

Jekyll -> RE: Run Button (1/27/2012 3:05:10)

I have given up completely on 1v1 and 2v2 too. I'll just fight NPC's again...

goldslayer1 -> RE: Run Button (1/27/2012 3:05:40)

@adam
whats more hilarious is how frostbite has 11% chance
and lowest block is 4%
but 4% tends to block more than frosbite actually happens
basically u block more than u do frostbite.
(i been blocked more than i done frostbite)

xxmirxx -> RE: Run Button (1/27/2012 3:10:56)

Well gold if brought back 1vs1 there will be more cheating.

TurkishIncubus -> RE: Run Button (1/27/2012 3:15:49)

I use "change server" as run button

Calogero -> RE: Run Button (1/27/2012 5:18:15)

@ Mir

how would it help cheating... They are adding the Challenges don't count for Wins/Losses thing so Dummying would be over...

A run button would be nice but it's not Really needed.

Fay Beeee -> RE: Run Button (1/27/2012 5:51:52)

I do not usually come in in these threads (and will probably wish I had not here lol)
The first reason I left 2v2 was because of the run button.
Too many were running as soon as fight started (both sides of fight). Totally unfair. Yes I can understand the 'time saving'
BUT if they had stayed they could have been just what was needed to swing the fight.
By running the do not even get the credits, or xp.
They have a choice to fight 2v2 - as I did. How can you expect to learn strategy if you run all the time. It is not realistic to expect to win every time you enter a fight.
If you do loose a lot, then imo,
1---you either have the wrong build
2---you do not know enough strategy
3---you are a little low in level
4---you need to rethink what to play (I did npc to get my strength up - then 1v1)

No offence to anyone
Good Luck
and sorry but
NOT supported

goldslayer1 -> RE: Run Button (1/27/2012 6:05:23)

strategy is flushed down the toilet when luck is severely involved.
when ur playing a match, and ur enemy goes first, crits u on that first turn.
and then blocks ur next 2 attacks, (malf and static for me) i already know that im done.
my build has 139 hp
and the usually enemy will have 125-139

they go first, and crit a 40-50 damage
my next 2 attacks are blocked his strikes do about 30 damage.
40 + 60 (from 2 strikes)
im already down to about 40 HP before i actually get a hit on him while he still has about 100-110 hp
im sorry fay but after that theres no swinging the flight.

1) i have a good build. (all builds are capable and most tend to have more dex than ur average enemy)
2) i try to make my builds as versatile as possible. to be good against almost anything.
3) im lvl 34
4) i do NPCs every hour.

after all that, its not a strategy problem. its a luck factor problem.
where players with lower dex are blocking. or im hardly ever going first. (all bloodmages i fought today went first except for mamaril)

Fay Beeee -> RE: Run Button (1/27/2012 6:14:18)

Sorry Gold. Does not sound like the sort of luck I get.
Either he is very very very lucky, or imo he has *cough*help*cough* and needs reporting. At least for an investigation, just to put your mind at rest.

Stabilis -> RE: Run Button (1/27/2012 6:31:10)

Aaaaaaand we're back to balance.

xxmirxx -> RE: Run Button (1/27/2012 6:38:44)

andy123 If u run into match with friend they can run which means dummy no one would know so perfect way to get away . Fay beee I also hate run button in 2vs2 seriously reck my 2vs2 stats because of people running.

Battle Elf -> RE: Run Button (1/27/2012 6:45:07)

Personally, I would like a run battle for certain circumstances, for when there is no chance of me winning.

I also see how this feature could be easily abused, especially for the Daily Solo Battle Champion

I guess i'm stuck in the middle :\

Just my opinion
Battle Elf

Stabilis -> RE: Run Button (1/27/2012 6:50:55)

Has anyone played Arcanists before? Turn based combat-strategy is what it is. In team games, people don't run because if a player ever disappears then the team with only one player gets double the turns.

Example: team1a and team1b vs team2a and team2b

It is team1a's turn. Blahblahblah.

It is team2a's turn. team1a is dead.

It is team1b's turn. Blahblahblah.

It is team2b's turn. Blahblahblah.

It is team1b's turn. Blahblahblah.

That's what I mean.

It worked there it could work here.
