sylar67 -> Normal Mercenaries ?? (2/4/2012 11:23:05)

Since the mercenaries class have become the last scaled between the 6 classses what about giving them a small buff ?
giving them a 2nd passive might make them oped and we dont want that but what if hybrid armor got buffed to 9 defense 9 resis instead of giving them a 2nd passive :)
i think that would help them a lot ... what is your opinion ? and do you have a better one ?

I am Primal -> RE: Normal Mercenaries ?? (2/4/2012 11:28:03)

umm i agree normal mercs need a buff. and what u suggested could maybe work. but blood mages are as weak as normal mercs just now, if not worse. so if this was to happen bm would need a buff too

Plus 9 is way too much.

Anyway I dont think they need to touch hybrid, hybrid is fine and does its job,

What they need are better combintions with hybrid like the possible sugested rage imrpoving passive or the aux impriving passive would be fine.

Plus this is meant to be discussed in balance discussion thread.

Remorse.

IsaiahtheMage -> RE: Normal Mercenaries ?? (2/4/2012 11:37:18)

I agree they need a buff but +9 is way to much. Maybe make Blood Shield go back to how it was you know lasting for 5 turns?

Passive Field Commander!!!

Field Commander is simply a useless skill and waste of energy.Like i always say...

Lets say you got Max Field Commander that gives +40 str, and you got 21-26+34 primary dmg. Field Commander will give +6 more dmg, in 4 turns it will do +24 more dmg. The problem is Field Commander require 1 turn to use so instead of using Field Commander a simple strike will probably do +20 dmg. So whats the point of wasting 20 energy on field commander???

Remorse -> RE: Normal Mercenaries ?? (2/4/2012 11:53:45)

^ I think it would lead them to have one side variety plus lead to many Oped builds.

However I actuly created an idea which would solve you problem,

Its a feature similar to rage where you fill it buy having turns pass without doing dmagae (eg. being blocked or using boosters sheilds heal etc.)

When its full you can use any NON attack skill aswell as an attack skill straight after.
So you could field commander then use an attack/attck skill in the same turn!
Providing you fill the bar in time which would prevent the system from being possibly oped such as a passive field commander.

TurkishIncubus -> RE: Normal Mercenaries ?? (2/4/2012 12:04:47)

^ why, Tank+Str builds, Full str builds, Dex-str builds, its like having extra attack power in other builds.

And the class is the most str related one, Field Commander + Intimidate + Double strike + Berserker + Maul + Atom all str related.

So doing lets say a Tech build + having +30 more str will buff those skills. Maybe using Bunker + Berserker will be a good combo.

2) Field Commander should be more useful than it was before. If it's still not good enough we'll take another look at it. There are also other plans for Mercenaries but we weren't able to get to them this week.
from Rabblefroth aka Hudelf

relax. also Wiseman did mention that one day they might replace Blood Shield with a new passive which would be pretty cool. because Hybrid armor gives +6
to both res and def, I expect the passive will protect you from particular attacks, like Shadowarts does for Hunters.

dont give up -> RE: Normal Mercenaries ?? (2/4/2012 12:20:41)

i agree with turk since that merc is about the strongest class of all so y not passive fc

Oba -> RE: Normal Mercenaries ?? (2/4/2012 12:33:37)

How about giving them a "smaller" version of Diamond blades?? For those who not know it works like Deadly aim, but this on primary instead of gun. It would replace Field Commander, and maybe give about +5 damage at level 10... or something like that.
