Oba -> What happened to the token hacking factions? (2/6/2012 12:17:06)

First of all I want to bring up that the moderators clearly ignore questions in PM. I have experience with getting threads locked, due I often bring up "info" that the moderators not always have liked. And they always have said that I should bring that to a moderator in private instead (PM).
So I did that this time, sent a PM to Lycus and Ashari. Lycus is good as always, well atleast he did answer me and he said that he not had much information about this topic (the factions who hacked tokens), but I didnt really get an answer, did I?

quote:

Hey, I'm afraid I didn't get too involved in the punishments for these faction/s who were caught hacking, therefore I don't really know what went on... I'll have to talk to some other staff and see what I can find out, then see if I can get back to you!

I gave him a few days to get information and contact me again, but he didnt. I dont blame him, since atleast he answered me.
So 4-5 days ago I decided to send another PM to Nightwraith, since he might have more information about this; but he didnt accept PM's. Than I PM'd Ashari right away instead. Still havent got a answer from her, and that is the reason why I decided to make a thread instead, apperently the only way to get attention, eh?
I also pointed out that if I not got a answer, I would create a thread about it and see if anyone knew more about this.
So be it.

Anyway, now to the topic.

We all know about the token hacking factions by now, right? Mainly The Legion Kings and GUAP who abused this hack as most. (Yes, you deserve getting pointed out directly..!). But nothing really happened to them, now did it? I dont know if something did, so please fill me in if you know! I also asked that in the PM.
There have been factions getting dispanded for dummying, and I find this, token hacking, just as serious. So why wont these faction dispand?

See it as this; "Three star and a sun" got banned for dummying, due they got unfair wins and would sooner or later get on LB and so on.. I dont even remember if they got on LB, its possible they got that far.
Now will sooner or later The Legion Kings, as an exampel, get on the Alltime flag board, since they still have those flags they used their hacked tokens at. Not to mention how unfair it is for those who had the flag before them, and have spent their hard worked tokens on.

I find two options in solving this; Either dispand their factions, or delete ALL of their donated tokens, or might even delete all the tokens the members still have. They should get punished in some way atleast, thats for sure! Banning the leader, or anyone else in the faction, dosent really solve the point I want to get out of this. I dont give a fudge if they get banned or not, but it is UNFAIR for the other factions when these, especially The Legion Kings and GUAP, hacked a big amount of tokens that they still have use of. (Yes, you deserve getting pointed out again!)

Calogero -> RE: What happened to the token hacking factions? (2/6/2012 12:31:14)

I PM'd Cindy myself about this topic... As of this day also no responce...
It's probably not important enough....

Clearly Dummying is more severe than Hacking tokens
that will be proven when this thread gets deleted

Stabilis -> RE: What happened to the token hacking factions? (2/6/2012 12:35:41)

I believe the perpetrators of the misdeed can still be respected their privacy so no staff member would be obliged to expose any related details.

Oba -> RE: What happened to the token hacking factions? (2/6/2012 12:37:40)

We might not have the right to get this kind of information, I see that. But actions should still be made, no? These factions should still get punished, even though we not have the right the get information about it.

Lord Loss... -> RE: What happened to the token hacking factions? (2/6/2012 12:39:48)

Depressed Void, if they made hacking tokens so obvious (by taking 4 flags) then they shud make their punishment as obvious

Santa ClawZz -> RE: What happened to the token hacking factions? (2/6/2012 12:40:07)

If only I had access to the old ED Forums, I'd show you what great privacy THREE STAR AND A SUN got....

Necromantres -> RE: What happened to the token hacking factions? (2/6/2012 12:53:31)

I Know It Isn't Fair... Since Dumying Isn't Still Possible I Don't Believe Disbanding Is Good.. "Everyone deserve 2 chances" But In My Experience With The founder Yet They Deserve To Be Taked A Cut From That Battle Tokens...

So if I hacked tokens, items... you name it, should I not lose them if I get cought? In this case I dont think they deserve a second chance.

Necromantres -> RE: What happened to the token hacking factions? (2/6/2012 13:02:45)

actualy no.. as i told if you would hacked let's say credits... i wouldn't ban you... of course i would take them from you the amnount i would find fair...

Oba -> RE: What happened to the token hacking factions? (2/6/2012 13:05:17)

But I am not saying they should get banned either, only that they should lose their tokens they hacked. (Might not be easy to see how much they hacked, and that is why all the donated tokens should disappear.)... Or dispand their factions, which would make more sense since they have alot of hacked Flag points.

Stabilis -> RE: What happened to the token hacking factions? (2/6/2012 13:07:18)

Thread Skimmers! Yes, of course they should be punished, but they have no rule or law to haze the suspected.

Necromantres -> RE: What happened to the token hacking factions? (2/6/2012 13:11:01)

disbanding a faction is for me like banning them... i see yours oppinions are good...yes the founder dumyed... maybe and some player(and i dumyed 10 wins for a mission until i realised it was illegal) but why to disband the faction why to take all of their memeber tokens since maybe some leaved... in my oppinion let's take 3/4 of their tokens donated to flags and to the founder a reduction of credits...(maybe)

PivotalDisorder -> RE: What happened to the token hacking factions? (2/6/2012 13:12:54)

what happens AFTER they are reported or caught by staff is none of your business no matter how "invested" you feel you are in the situation.

if they tell you the punishment and it isn't severe then it just encourages others to risk it. if they took a more severe approach that still only means they
banned the account. they won't IP ban unless it is a serious problem. also it is very likely that if they can hack tokens then they can get around an IP ban.

I did not know that the founder dummyied, nor did I claim that. I took dummying factions as an exampel since those factions get disbanded, should not the token hacking factions also then? I for one think so atleast. It is just as unfair get a unlimited amount of tokens, as it is to get easy and fast wins.

I have never, NEVER, said that they should get banned for it. As I wrote in the beginning I do not care if they get banned or not, just that they lose those hacked tokens which is unfair to others.

Bu Kek Siansu -> RE: What happened to the token hacking factions? (2/6/2012 13:16:57)

If I may give my opinion, you should just need to wait the result since you already sent a PM to Lycus and Ashari.

As far as I know we're not allowed to post or to discuss about Hacking Accusations in the forums. :p

I also pointed out that if I not got a answer, I would create a thread about it and see if anyone knew more about this.
So be it.

You can try to send a PM to Lycus and ashari again if needed. :)

Taken from the ED GD Rules: http://forums2.battleon.com/f/fb.asp?m=17029388
quote:

  • No Hacking Accusations!
This is stated in the Universal Rules but it needs to be said again.
Do NOT post in ED GD with any hacking accusations about anyone. It is not allowed.
Contact a moderator by sending a private message to The Lawman if you would like to report someone.
    Do not post about them.

  • Oba -> RE: What happened to the token hacking factions? (2/6/2012 13:20:56)

As I pointed out in my first thread, I was already aware that this is not a good discussion, but when you see massive hacking in factions that still show in leaderboards daily, I get the feeling that waiting is not the right choice.

If this thread gets locked for a discussion about hacking in-game, since its against the Forum rules, should not the Faction who hacked (which is against the games rules) get locked (disbanded)?

As far as I know we are not accusating anyone. It's a proven fact that the factions mentioned above hacked.
We are discussing about the fact that nothing has been done to punish their advancement onto the leaderboard
    with said hacked tokens

Elf Priest JZaanu -> RE: What happened to the token hacking factions? (2/6/2012 13:25:43)

Though Accusations could lead to potential problems...

If there is a breech where any player can obtain tokens beyond traditional means, this is more of a civil service thread as well. I feel if the game does not address issues like this openly, some people might take this as a sign the game does not value it as a priority and this could be taken advantage of.

If this thread does cease, I request the author open a Q & A post about what the game is doing about any possible breeches in tokens.

Speaking of disciplinary action against factions who violate the rules, the actions should be catered to the offense.

This does give me an idea in the suggestion thread. :)

Lord Loss... -> RE: What happened to the token hacking factions? (2/6/2012 13:26:50)

psibertus, what do u mean its none of our business, they are already 10th on all time flag capture by taking 4 flags each with 50k+ at least, they passed black knights of chaos, streetworrion, dixie chiks and didooox killers, we know these facs well, they are old have many 1vs1 or 2vs2 medals and we know that they earned all their tokens, and all the effort they spent on their flags means nothing. Legion kings is a fairly new faction and they passed them all in a 1 month or so and still hold multiple flags. we all know they hacked tokens and yet we see that no1 is doing anything, tell me how does that not encourage others to try better than not knowing the punishment

Stabilis -> RE: What happened to the token hacking factions? (2/6/2012 13:29:50)

My advice is to discuss the HISTORIES of crimes in EpicDuel, not the current issues, or potential suspects.

Since the only people whom hold authority or judgement in these cases are members of "game law" such as the Lawman or Admins.

Algorithm -> RE: What happened to the token hacking factions? (2/6/2012 13:35:41)

    I wonder . . .

Elf Priest JZaanu -> RE: What happened to the token hacking factions? (2/6/2012 13:43:27)

I created a suggestion that will put every player on notice about responsibility and fairness. Once they sign the document, they must be bind by it, and they will not be able to give an excuse of "I didn't know".

Here is the suggestion, please don't discuss it, just review.

Stabilis -> RE: What happened to the token hacking factions? (2/6/2012 14:06:12)

If you reply to Jzaanu's suggestion your post will be deleted, just to warn you.

Cinderella -> RE: What happened to the token hacking factions? (2/6/2012 14:28:18)

It is not our policy to discuss punishment of individuals. However, I can confirm that we take hacking very seriously and we have punished the individuals that we caught using the exploit. However, there was not enough evidence to suggest that they were working on behalf of a specific faction. We do not want to issue punishment unless we have absolute proof of wrongdoing.

I'm locking the thread because it isn't up for discussion.
