I think it's a good idea, but I want to hear your guys opinion. Would you guys like a Varium -> Credits feature? Like maybe you're short XXXX credits from that LQS item, and you'd like to fork over some varium for the credits?

An exchange rate of 100 varium = 2000 credits? (That's probably too high though)

Retrosaur -> RE: Varium -> Credits? (But not Vice Versa?) (2/6/2012 21:37:42)

Covered before. No. If a player gets hacked by a scammer, then they can abuse the function. Not needed.

drinde -> RE: Varium -> Credits? (But not Vice Versa?) (2/6/2012 21:41:36)

Well, maybe if you set up a password system to use the converter.

Soliqe -> RE: Varium -> Credits? (But not Vice Versa?) (2/6/2012 21:48:15)

@hyped

You're making me laugh. It's the player's fault for allowing themselves to be scammed.

PD -> RE: Varium -> Credits? (But not Vice Versa?) (2/6/2012 21:53:59)

^^

And in the case of a keylogger/Stroketracer?

goldslayer1 -> RE: Varium -> Credits? (But not Vice Versa?) (2/6/2012 22:04:13)

@pd
still his fault for accepting malicious software. (technically speaking)
but in that case if its pure hack, or keylogger ED should be responsible with this.

@joe
if we measured varium to credits prices.
100 varium should actually be 10k.

this is based on the war kill cannons. 10k credits and 200 var cannon.
the 200 var cannon does twice the damage as the 10k cannon.
so based on that 100 var should be 10k credits.

Joe10112 -> RE: Varium -> Credits? (But not Vice Versa?) (2/6/2012 22:07:57)

@^: True, but then 10,000 varium = a mind whopping 1000*10,000 = 10,000,000 credits...

IDK, just a suggestion. If you get LEGIT hacked, then ED has to deal with it. If you get yourself scammed, too bad for yourself. Plus, the hackers could just buy Varium items and delete/sell over and over if they were malicious and wanted you to have no varium...

DeathGuard -> RE: Varium -> Credits? (But not Vice Versa?) (2/6/2012 22:14:18)

100 varium for 10k credits is absurd, 100 varium shouldn't be more than 2k credits, else varium people would be more oped and such, we would get more weapon variability and for 500 varium would be 50k credits meaning we would be saving varium for class change, like 400 varium and remember the incoming from this game helps them survive so I don't support. Credits should be earned and not bought with varium.

nico0las -> RE: Varium -> Credits? (But not Vice Versa?) (2/6/2012 22:14:46)

If you follow the logic of an enhancement (so 1700 varium = 170 000 credits (I believe)), that could work. However,
varium and credits should not be exchangeable, as varium has a different value to the person than credits.

One varium should be equal to 100 credits. That way it's proportional AND reasonable.

anyone whos against 100 varium for 10k only proves credit war kills is completely unbalanced.

btw, credits are a fake number.
varium u have to pay for.

1 var = 100 credits

thats the same as 100 var = 10k credits

Almost all here is pay to win so credits should be other fact to be changed to it too? I'm against it.

Yeah it is, I will offer a revamp of it later, is late here.

Joe10112 -> RE: Varium -> Credits? (But not Vice Versa?) (2/6/2012 22:38:39)

ENH style:

1700 Var = 170,000 Credits

1 Var = 100 Credits

Which seems logically fair. Of course, since ED wants to make money, 1 var = 90 credits.

Retrosaur -> RE: Varium -> Credits? (But not Vice Versa?) (2/7/2012 0:03:03)

Yay Solique is back :D

But one thing I must say.

If conversion were allowed. It wouldn't be a good thing.

For one thing, the balloon-like economy of the ED's economy would..
.
.
*puts on sunglasses*
.
HYPER-INFLATE

YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

Soliqe -> RE: Varium -> Credits? (But not Vice Versa?) (2/7/2012 0:11:08)

Like goldslayer pointed out, it would be an ED privacy issue and would be up to the company to fix it.

1 V = 100 Cred is a bit overdone.

So:

1 V = 25

100 V = 2,500

1,000 V = 25,000

It's a fair amount considering armors have costed 25,000.

Joe10112 -> RE: Varium -> Credits? (But not Vice Versa?) (2/7/2012 0:38:31)

1V=25 I feel is too little.

1V=50+ Creds is more like it.

Wouldn't it be nice if you could type in how much Var you wanted to switch to Credits (like I have 366 var, I'd like to swap 66 var to credits), and it would automatically give me 3,300 credits? (66*50 by my way, 6,600 by Gold's way)

Although 1V =100 Creds is a little...big, it's what ENH and Wars dictate what varium is.

Varium gets like a 100% edge over credits.

Soliqe -> RE: Varium -> Credits? (But not Vice Versa?) (2/7/2012 1:04:21)

@above I tried 50 but it's way to much... 25k is perfect fine... plus you'd only be trading varium by 100s not 1s.

kittycat -> RE: Varium -> Credits? (But not Vice Versa?) (2/7/2012 1:45:00)

Credits should be earned like DeathGuard said, but however, more opportunities should be present other than the so-called "pay to win". There should be times where more credits are given. If varium to credits was ever to be implemented, it would be supporting the statement, "pay to win".

Joe10112 -> RE: Varium -> Credits? (But not Vice Versa?) (2/7/2012 14:56:36)

Well Varium is pay-to-win basically already, but there arn't really THAT OP weps and items for nonvars...

Stabilis -> RE: Varium -> Credits? (But not Vice Versa?) (2/7/2012 15:13:51)

Sure why not? Period.

Aere -> RE: Varium -> Credits? (But not Vice Versa?) (2/7/2012 17:53:44)

You wouldn't get "hacked". I promise, there are very few people who send out keyloggers or other viruses looking at EpicDuel Accounts. It's not like you can even trade, anyway.
