My best advice to you in that situation is just dont give up! [;)]

ORDER -> RE: need advice (2/13/2012 19:58:05)

I like to say "thanks" when im called a noob. It really throws them off. I also like to say "Well we all cant be Pros like you" right before I end the match by Rage Aux them to death ;)
Sometimes I get called noob by a low lvs who can hardly damage me (like 5-6dmg) in Jugg so ill just go afk for several turns then come back just to heal. Ill drag the battle out for about 10 15 minutes before I kill them. This is a little mean but I only do it to repeat offenders.

OmilliYo -> RE: need advice (2/13/2012 20:59:41)

my days when i was levels 1-25 all you ever hear is "no heal". If you do heal then you would be called a noob. The ignorant person i am, i do the opposite of what they say. Then we

win!! oh yea... noob 4 life!!

dont give up -> RE: need advice (2/13/2012 21:00:18)

@chosen one i see what your trying to say. im like that too to my friend soldier ;) i go like omg noob luck lol. but when other ppl say it i know there not joking and say noob for no reason. like what u said omg a nub to vix. well vix know u were joking but when other ppl say it they mean it, because there losing or there so proud that they beat u in battle cus ur lvl 34 and there low lvl (''win with crit or other luck''). [&o]

@spar lol funny when u use my name [:)] but thx

XxKirachanXx -> RE: need advice (2/14/2012 1:22:22)

I have a funny little story to tell...
I started a 2v2, Now I'm pretty well equipped if I say so myself...officer armour, hero's heart set, hazard blaster, and hunter cannon.
And our opponents were in quite the pickle, they were both caster mages with poor defense, not to mention a slight level disadvantage. My partner was a tank merc, and I'm a tank/strength merc. The stronger one went down in a few turns. My partner had low health and so did the opponent, whereas I had nearly full health. And so, I was feeling rather charitable, and decided to give him a shot at getting a little more creds and exp, he really couldn't beat me unless had miraculous critting and blocking powers ;D
Now...as I'm trying to give the little guy a break, cuz I couldn't count how many times I wish I was given this opportunity, my partner then proceeds to use a health booster, essentially cutting off the little window the little guy had, and calls me a noob.
That was rather unjustified, wouldn't you agree?

Wraith -> RE: need advice (2/14/2012 1:25:07)

@Above: In a game where you're supposed to kill people, you let someone kill you? Are you betraying your team? If my partner had the chance to finish the match but chose not to I would call him/her a noob.

I feel no sympathy for you.

@OmilliYo: You wouldn't believe how many reports my noob alt (Regina Inferni) has as a result of boosting. People don't understand a random +25 HP (more than a heal @ that lvl) heal, for 0 EP. Trolololol

Healing ish fun XD

XxKirachanXx -> RE: need advice (2/14/2012 1:32:50)

Actually, the game was clearly set, both my teammate and opponent had about 10 hp, whereas I had roughly 50 and a decent wall of defenses, with full energy it would have taken two turns, both bolt and rain crits to finish me off.
There was obviously no possible way he would have beaten me. So why not allow him a little more exp? It's not like I was giving the match ;D
Lvl 29 by my experience is the beginning of a very, very rough journey...
I'm still a little new to this game, and am also mostly non varium. But at lv 27-29, I find the gap between my wins and losses decrease quite a bit. You tend to face mostly variums at that point. Why not give a little slack if it would literally cost you or your teammate nothing more than a single turn?

Wraith -> RE: need advice (2/14/2012 1:38:21)

@Above: It costs time. Time is important. And anyways, you aren't supposed to buy something new every level. My alt is swimming in credits (not literally, about 2k...more than my main lol) and still using low level gear. Problem? Not in existance.

And you have encumberance. When I was at that level, I survived fairly well with a Malf-Overload-Aux-Heal build. I even beat a few Level 32s (level cap at the time).

Now look at it from encumberance's view. I could have equipped my Frostbane, I could have purchased a Caden;s Cuirass much earlier, and I could have had Frostbolt Blaster. All weapons not available to me, but are available to lower levels now.

I was unwilling to spend an additional 1000 Varium for another armor, and thus was stuck with Necro Mage until...when did WarBot first come out? I got the first one iirc lol.

XxKirachanXx -> RE: need advice (2/14/2012 1:49:12)

True... after two abandoned characters, I lost hope after getting bankrupt at a crucial point with insufficient gear both times. I learned that I could get away with only spending 1.5k up to level 25, stocking up on the best credit gear for that level, and I wouldn't need more till about lv 29-30. Even with a slip of about 5k credits, I found myself fully geared better than most other nonvariums.
But do the little newbies know that? Think of the poor newbies ;D
Ah well...I guess that's why they give you six character slots, huh? ;3

Wraith -> RE: need advice (2/14/2012 1:50:37)

@Above: That;s why NPCing exist. If their smart, they'll know to fight these easy guys with a challenge button.

After all, someone learned how to NPC...

I figured out that was the best way at level 27, when I was a punching bag for the 32s.

XxKirachanXx -> RE: need advice (2/14/2012 1:56:26)

Yep....thanks to npcing, if you have a decent build and have decent luck, getting to lv 15 without a single loss is pretty easy.

Oh...and out of curiosity: How long did you play before you no longer considered yourself new to the game?

Wraith -> RE: need advice (2/14/2012 2:04:17)

@Above: The game was simple back in Gamma. Stat does this, Stat does that.

The build part was hard. Sure, you had a great build. But I had to spend about 3-4 months with a build to know it inside out, and then I switched to BH (/fail), which I failed miserably at. I went to Merc next, which I quit becuase tanking back then was OP. I went back to BH, with some unique builds. (Check DevilsWraithAE on youtube and find an ancient vid of me beating Titan with a STR Focus BH with Energy Claws, that was hard back then because stats were little).

However, even after about 8 months, I still felt like I was not reachng my maximum potential. I began watching videos of TurkishIncubus, Endtime, etc. to learn their maneuvers and strategy. At about 16 months right now, I no longer feel new.

I think I changed at about the year mark :P I'm slow.

XxKirachanXx -> RE: need advice (2/14/2012 2:12:16)

If I'm not mistaken, I had first joined during the "Talk Like a Pirate Day" season. So I've been playing for about 5 months top :/

Yeah...I found youtube pretty helpful as well, I usually watch BasicBall's stuff and a few others, including BarneyStillpwnsyou or something like that, he made some sort of a different build for every day of a month. It was pretty interesting really.
And I'll have to check that stuff out, thanks ;D

Wraith -> RE: need advice (2/14/2012 2:19:12)

@Above: Meh >_> <_<

Barney = awesome.

I'm off to sleep. can only grab another 4 hours of it then to school. Oh crap, I still have HW >_> procrastinating ._.
