so what do you guys think? no flamming,no going off-topic,no turning this into a suggestion that is all

^ Um no....

Do you not realise you could just get a hearbreaker bot?

Plus if they do buffs are not overpowered by any means.

In fact if you consider they have to use a non rage giving turn to do so it can be extremely underpowered in the times when turns are very valuable.

Is this about skills such as reflex boost or field commander and how their values for energy costs and stat boosts should be lowered?

Buff skills in some cases are quite underpowered because you cannot make up for the turn lost to defend in damage. Of course if you consider something like +30 Def/Res (Matrix/Energy Shield) it may be worth it but going for about 8-10 Res and wasting one turn is not worth against Str/Stat abusive builds. Weakening the latter one even further will make the game even more Str-only.

Good point with Rage, but my overall point was that they don't need a nerf because they have disadvantages as they are now.

^ Its still not worth it for DM or Energy sheild because,

If you use it, thats one turn wasted then if you cosider they rage ALOT earlier AND that it costs energy AND you dont get rage that turn thus rage later.....
Infact that explains why people dont level up defence matrix or energy sheild past 3-4 because the extra energy cost and rage speed bonus for the enermy.

No Sheilds DO NOT need nerfing or reducing especially because of the heartbreaker bot.

The way I see if your build has a particular weakness to these defences then get the heartbreker bot...

@Remorse well i dont have any var at mo and i dont like the heartbreaker bot .

@Depressed void yes for refelx boost and no for commander as i see it as not so strong of a buff i should change the title in that case.

@trans ......... yes that is true but not all the buffs are at a disadvantage for example defence matrix and technician are still quite powerful.

Can you give your insight on this? It isn't all about popularity of your topic. Your reasoning of why such a thing would be done is important.

And Remorse explained it. You miss turn of damage and cannot catch up with it as you lose damage on it and some defense isn't enough. Seeing that Matrix/Energy Shield can give a lot of Def/Res gives only Rage quicker to enemy and kills you in the end. Rage seems to be problem here as well which in my opinion, either fills up too quickly or has too strong damage (ignoring defense).

Also this belongs in Balance Thread as it's literally a balance issue.

hmm lets way up the power...

A reflex boost that gives the average player the same defence as a TLM or fireball which hits between 70-80....

Even if you dont have the heartbreaker bot you should make you builds to take into account for sheilds.
At least you can come up with counters for people who sheild for example strong attacks in both energy and phsical attacks, mana drains. Quick good rage skills.

Were as a player trying to counter power builds has to Hope for a start and luck....
Sheilds dont cut it anymore because they rage extremely fast and you waste a turn if they hearbreaker it its even worse..

I completely agree, We think alike in many topics.

I also think rage is a problem in this case but adjusting rage isnt the only solution.

We must not forget that the minimum damage possible is 3 regardless of how high a defense is or how low an attack is in damage.

the balance disscusion nothing gets answered and im not doing this for popularity also that 1 turn can increase your chance of winning or do nothing at all thats why i did this post.

That is how this game is ment to work, The victor should be the person with the smartest strategy NOT the person with the biggest power and the most luck.

You however think that players should be able to win effortlessly by spamming and things like sheilds are just anoying,

Were as I think sheilds are not as effective as they are ment to be, but in some situtations they do their job, to serve as tool in winning with wits not power.

no thats not what i want i actually want the battles to be more fun and long rather then creating an op class and winning as you said effortlessly. if you saw my wins and losses you would understand why i want this done but this is what you think not what i want.

Though you dont see many people who are against effortless builds, but at the same time want sheidls nerfed....

Sheilds does not require any nerf or buff.

Shields have advantages and disadvantages like they are useable at low lvl +1 , but they stay only for 3-4 turns -1.

Obviolsy you havnt been a focus BH or at least not for long because if you look at it from their veiw.
Nothing they can do gives themhigh enough defence to withstand massivly spamming power builds.

So with reflex what lacks in defence actuly is made up with blocks, fair enough from my veiw.

yes i have been a bh but rarely needed to use reflex boost but it hasnt been too much of a problem as defence matrix believe me

^ You do know defence matrix does not effect blocks what so ever....

Infact the main reason people use DM is cause their smoked.
So they should actuly have a lower block chance....

Don't see how thats a problem.

obviously you know a way around the super charging tech mages and cybers strengh builds that have rage so quickly. wish i could do the same wait do cybers have DM and more?

^ Did you know back in beta or early gamma, most builds could beat each other regardless of luck or who starts rather mainly strategy.

Alot has changed suddenly its effortless builds vs effortles builds then blame bad balance on luck.
And suddenly if there is a stratgy build that can beat a few effortless spamming builds WHITH STRATEGY :O its somehow oped....

my skills are 10 dex boost 10 multi shot 4 blood lust and 4 smoke hence i am 28 my build is unstoppable against mercs my dex (with boost) 124 and my armor is energy (eng stat 44 plus 6 resistance) i barely losed ever. but then came heart bot it ruined my buildn i almost lost again a lvl 25 full var tm (further assuring me that if h were my lvl he`d beat me. I THINK that the hearth robot should be nerfed i can deal with gamma bot and energy bot but not against hb. why cause its breaking many offense defense builds like mine. ALSO what u think pricing for rusty robo?
