Master Volcon -> Rarity (2/19/2012 19:09:38)

Do you guys agree with the current way rarity works. It appears that staff just assigns a number. I don't really see a set standard so far.

A good example is that the Hero's Heart Set costs 16,000 credits, is mutating, and only has 1,100 rarity.

Yet the Hero's Heart Broadsword only costs 15,000 credits, is not mutating, and has a much higher rarity at 1,650.

Do you think that there should be a set number? Do you think the staff should have the number be public knowledge before you buy it?

I <3 RARITY

OH wait, not that rarity? Darn it. ._____________.

I really don't care about rares at all. After you get enough to get the treasure hunter cheevo, rarity scorse are just irrelevant unwanted bling that makes you look like some kind of selfish materialistic loser.

There are a few ways rarity could work that I have thought of. One is where the rarity is based on how many of an item there actually is outside of npc shops. So if everyone were to be buying the Hero's heart set then it would not be as rare.

Second, players being able to trade/sell stuff to other players has alteady been suggested and this would allow the players to decide how rare an item is by choosing how much they would trade/sell for it.

Rarity is used to show off your monies!

Too bad I sell outdated gear!

rarity is for horders.. sure the achievement would be nice, but it's not exactly worth it.

There needs to be a fixed amount for each rarity. Then there would be no confusion.
