^ For your suggestion, I would show:

Which is higher, defence or resistance? And if resistance was higher it would highlight that fact. But also which armour type they are wearing, P or E? As that could be critical when it comes down to using the correct rage attack. And of course the only other thing we would show is health, energy, the name of the equipment, and weapon damage.

None of:

Skill trees, base defence, base resistance, base stats.

That would be OK.

it isn't much a problem actually.

u can tell what roughly what build they will have, by how much HP they have, how much energy, what items. and how they perform their strategy.

for example if i see a tech mage doing malf, gun and aux, and has huge amount of energy left (in the range of 50-60)
i already know thats going to be a super charge attack, from that alone.

or i could have guessed it from the start by using a physiclal damage and determining the amount of defense he had aswell with energy.
and then an energy drainer would solve that problem with super charge.

the same would go with str BH, and some str ch. (some str ch use 47 energy instead of around 65 so theirs would be trickier to figure out but can still be done.
measuring the amount damage he does with ur def/res will determine his str. and as soon as he uses static (or before) use an energy drainer) then again u can also figure out his build from the hp and items. most str ch use 125 hp.
and u can tell around how much someone will have from what stats by the requirements on weapons aswell as its stats.

overall players who WANT to WIN will have to use their brains more. unlike today.

showing defenses would somewhat show the build entirely.
for example showing high dex for mages.
or for ch

the only thing that should be showed at the most, should be
Health (for obvious reasons)
Energy (for obvious reasons)
weps names. (ill agree on that since not everyone knows the wep's name)
And class (altho it would be nice to see people confuse a merc for tlms. or a ch for bh. or bm for tech mage.)

but showing weapon damage, defense, and if armor is E or P. u might aswell just leave it how it currently is.

Allow me to clarify what I was trying to say in different words:

Tells you which is a higher value- defence or resistance.

Tells you which armour type they are using- E or P.

That way you can exercise the maximum damage without learning their weaknesses (ex... low dexterity, you have the advantage in blocking).


EDIT:

So if your enemy had 29-35 base defence and 25-30 base resistance with a +9 energy armour, the status would show:

WEAKNESS = DEFENCE

ARMOR = ENERGY

Overall I do think it's great idea.
Yeah surely luck will play major factor here again but sometimes you can see after primary let's say, that they are Physical or Energy. If they do low damage (most players know what low means when enemy hits them (high Str = they will see bigger dmg, and vice versa)) then it means that they are most likely Support build and in TLM/Merc case, they will use Multi so we can actually switch to Defense mode or try to use Assimilation/EMP. Yes Assimilation is less reliable at times (especially if at L1-3 only) but classes w/o Energy regen try to usually match their EP perfectly so they don't waste points in it.
For TMs, example you have gold is perfect. You can distinguish Caster or SC TMs by simply looking at Energy (although some do have Reroute and lower Energy) or by looking at Gun/Aux damage. If they have DA, they won't be Caster build but perhaps Support or SC (from my experience). BMs will be similar to Mercs although if they have Plasma and Fireball, you're screwed if you defend against the wrong one. But hey! Who says you must win every battle + if they do so, you should be able to defend against next attack OR if they wait until your buff is gone then try to kill before then (or EMP/Assimilation, etc).

I will agree about not showing tree, base stats (only you yourself can see them) but I'd like to perhaps know total Res and Def. Yes total, so I can see when they use buffs (Def/Res ones) and it'll show total so you know what attack to use. Yes you will be able to guess what type of build they might be but showing the lowest one (and if it's at quite higher range) it will prove that build is a Tank. Showing total but not base + Armor + Agility, etc would be perfect.
So what you would see is just defences which are a bit crucial in PvP game. It could be a bit of a give-away but some builds can get quite high Res and Def while maintaining high damage without likes of Plasma/Mineral Armor. Hybrid isn't a problem.
Considering post above, sorry I just read it so this is edited, it could be a way to solve things as Armors usually decide on type of build. For example, let's say TLMs have Mineral so best Armor is E, and vice versa for CHs. By learning what Armor they have and highest value, we could get enough information. Most of the time, players will try to get higher Res or Def and buy opposite Armor to get as much (balancing it out) - for example my build has equal Res and Def, I use E Armor but I'm Support build so I have quite high Matrix to make up for it.
But one question arises; if one is higher due to the nerf/buff via a skill, it will change as well to show which is higher now (they can be countered by Bots, skills, etc) but they might not make up for the Dex/Tech lost and if you wanna Rage, it'll certainly be helpful.
