Proluge
1000 Years Ago

The astranged being leaped from rooftop to rooftop, craving for human flesh. It already devoured every citizen in town but there was something else that disturbed it greatly. It didn't take too long for another being to attack it. The two wrestled under the dim moonlight until the overhead clouds passed on by. One was a grotesque crimson slimy humanoid with glaring eyes. The other was a man, who wore pitch black jeans without shoes. His torso was laced with intricate tribal markings that ran up his arms to his fingertips. He had markings on one side of his face that appeared as half of a skull.

"I never expected you to be here, Slayer," the creature bellowed in numerous voices. The man stared on from the darkness of his hood.

"Please, just walk away. I hate to kill," he said. The creature laughed hysterically as it prepared to pounce on him.

"You're pathetic Slayer," it said as it leaped," just like your father!" The man enveloped his body in light as he dropkicked the demon. He grabbed it and threw it skyward. He jumped after, punching furiously. The demon kicked back, but the man blocked. He intensified the light energy around his right fist as he retaliated.

GOLDEN FIST OF THE CELESTIAL GOD

The demon was impaled by the man's fist as it coughed up blood. The man kicked it into the Earth, creating a small crater. He landed on it, killing it effectively.

"Great job Crow," a voice said. He turned to see a heavily armored man walk to him.

"What do you want Damian?" Crow asked. The armored man reached a hand out but Crow drew back.

"Don't touch me."

"Why are you anti-social?"

"Shut your mouth!" Damian became enraged and ran to Crow. Crow jumped to a tree and stood on a branch.

"Leave me alone."

"Ill kill you Crow. Why can't you be normal?" Crow instantly dispersed in a bright white light.

Revenge was all Damian could think. And quick revenge.

Crow appeared in front of a small worn cottage and entered slowly. There were various other people sitting at tables talking. He walked to an empty table and slammed his head, tired. Suddenly, a woman wearing a black corset, black pants and heels sat next to him. She lowered her face to his, her curly blonde hair mixing with his straight long silver hair.

"Crow," she whispered. He looked back at her, face flushed.

"Hey Winter," he answered. She smiled as she hugged him.

"Meet me at the lake in a couple minutes," she said. She got up and ran out. Crow slammed his head again, but because of the excitement.

Crow appeared from one of the pathways at the entrance to the giant lake not to far from the building. He looked around, searching for Winter. For a while, he believed he was led on, until the entrance was sealed by a magic barrier. Damian appeared, grinning.

"What do you want with my life!?" Crow shouted. Damian snapped his fingers, revealing a treant holding an unconscious Winter in its grip. Crow stared at her, then at Damian.

"Let her go!"

"Then fight me. You can't run away now. The magic barrier negates your Chronomancy." Damian held two giant swords in his hands, ready to attack. Crow instantly crashed into him, blind with furious emotions. He destroyed the torso of the armorial and burnt Damian's chest. Then he kicked him into the barrier. Crow punched the Treant in the face, forcing it to release its grip on Winter. He caught her in his grip and tried to escape, but Damian stopped him. He smirked as the ground beneath Crow glew purple. Despising what was about to be done he threw Winter on a pile of leaves. He was immediately shocked by a purple energy and was rendered paralyzed.

"Tell me your Chronomancy secrets Crow!" Damian shouted. Crow began to mumble enchantements. As Damian approached. Crow dispelled the paralysis and rammed into Damian. He began to attack Damian with a barrage of fists and kicks. Damian was hit full on, but didn't become affected. He grabbed Crow and body slammed him into the ground.

"Remember Crow, I am a Crusher. My endurance surpasses that of Slayers such as yourself." Damian grabbed Crow's throat and hoisted him in the air. His fist turned into solified darkness.

EXECUTIONER'S WAKE
Crow was slammed into the ground.

"Where is the Dragon Amulet?" Crow enveloped himself in pure light as Damian became pure darkness.

"GO AWAY!" Crow shouted. The two punched each other's fists, releasing energy.

Winter awoke, dazed and confused. She yawned as she looked around. She got up and turned to see a horrific sight: Crow encased in crystalized darkness and Damian encased in crystalized light. She started to cry, unaware of what she should do. Then, she noticed a dragon-shaped amulet with a red orb inside. She picked it up, and was filled with unknown memories and information. She placed it in her pocket and walked away, looking back at Crow, the only guy she could ever love.

One
Present Day Falconreach

Winter sat in Serenity's Inn trying to remember just what happened after she woke up from that attack. Everything up until then was as clear as diamonds. She suddenly had the memory of Chronomancy in her head, and traveled to present-day Falconreach on her own. All she thought about was freeing Crow. She asked around for help, but to no avail. Finally she returned to where she was now, sitting in Serenity Inn. Right then, she felt lost and dismal unilateral a hand grabbed her shoulder.

"Excuse me," the man said,"I heard you were in need of magical assistance." Winter looked into his face, his long white hair, purple eyes and beaming face. She almost saw Crow in his image, and remembered what she needed to ask.

"Um..,I have a friend who's sealed in some sort of wierd magic. Could you unfree him?" The man thought about it as he walked to the Inn door.

"Let's go. I'll try my best."

"You know Crow?" she asked as the man stared in awe at the magical encasing of Crow and Damian.

"Of course, he was an old friend of mine from magic school. How did he end up like this?" Then Winter had another vision of a memory she didn't seem to recall. It was Crow talking to her about a very powerful mage whom he knew for a long time. His name was....

"You're Warlic ?" she asked. He smiled as he began gathering magical energy.

"The one and the only." Warlic shot forth a purple beam of enrgy that melted the half that Crow was encased in. He fell out to the floor, gasping for air.

"Crow !" Winter shouted as she ran to him. Warlic walked to him and helped him stand.

"Warlic," he said as he stretched out his arms,"how long has it been?" Warlic smiled.

"A few days my friend."

"No, how long was I encased in that seal?"

"About 1000 years." Winter was shocked. She couldn't believe she was 1000 years into the future. She knew she traveled in time but she wasn't sure how far she went. Crow eased up out of Warlic's hold and looked at Winter.

"I'm sorry for getting you into this." She shook her head.

"It's fine, really." Crow blushed.

"Do you have the Amulet?" Winter looked at him puzzled.

"You mean the Dragon Amulet?" She took it out of her pocket and threw it to Warlic. He caught it, and examined it.

"This is it," he said. "The Genesis Dragon Amulet."

"What's the Genesis Dragon Amulet?" Winter asked.

"It's one of the the first ever Dragon Amulets. Or more importantly, Crow's Dragon Amulet."

"So are you, a DragonLord ?" Crow shook his head.

"I am no DragonLord, but a Slayer."

"You mean you slay dragons?" He shook his head again.

"Slayers are wizards who use a rare type of magic called Physical Magic. Physical Magic is the ability to turn the mana within one's self into an any element. It may sound like regular magic, but Slayers can only be taught by powerful magical entities."

"So who, or what taught you Slayer magic?"

"The Celestial God Ko."

"A real god?"

"Yep." Warlic nodded.

"However, it's a lost art because gods are extinct. Then there are Crushers, like Damian. However, we don't have enough time to explain Slayers and Crushers in deph. We must get Crow healed. The effects of Rift Lock are serious."

Celestial Slayers

Celestial Slayers, or Slayers, are human beings who have been taught lost magic called Astral-Physical magic by Celestial Gods. The name Celestial Slayer actually refers to the people who slay for Celestial Gods, although they have the ability to slay Celestial Gods. Celestial Slayers are not abundant in numbers because Celestial Gods themselves are extinct. However, legend foretells that all Celestial Slayers will become Celestial Gods due to a Celestial Slayer's advancing evolution.

Celestial Gods

Celestial Gods were ethereal beings that were once humans who became gods. The matter of how they obtained this status is unknown. Celestial Gods served as controllers of space and, rarely, time. Celestial Gods worked along side with the Elemental Lords for various of reasons, but they focused on outer space in general. They were the Guardians of Space, while the Elemental Lords deal with planetary issues. Once every 500 years, Celestial Gods selected their disciple/s in order to handle planetary affairs because a Celestial God cannot become corperate on Lore. Instead they tell those by the stars, and those who are smart enough to decipher the Star Code will gain the status of Celestial Slayer.

500 years before the current time in Lore, the Celestial Gods had an internal war. The Elemental Lords desperately tried to intervene but the Celestial Slayers instead kept warring. A little after the Celestial Gods became presumably extinct, as told by the Elemental Lords. Celestial Slayers went into decline but not extinct. A few thousand exist, as the ratio of humans to Celestial Slayers is 50,000 to 1. The extinction of the Celestial Gods was the presumable reason shadow beings from nearby galaxies went to Lore. Rumor has it that they inhabited weapons to hide from Celestial Slayers.

Celestial Magic / Astral-Physical Magic

Celestial Slayers gain their mana from the stars, suns, and space in general. They aquire the energy with a rare magic called Astral-Physical Magic. The magic can only be used by Celestial Slayers because the amount of mana one star holds is enough to kill regular people and most magic users, unless a Transverse Switch is applied to match the element of the user. However, there is a deadly side-effect called Star Rot. Star Rot corrodes the arms of the user over time. It also prolongs the user's lifespan, but the agonizing pain is carried on by the increase of lifespan.

A few Celestial Slayers have the ability to use Chronomancy to an advanced state. Those that learn Chronomancy can bypass Star Rot by using the skill named Shift Warp. This ability can destroy Star Rot, but has to be constantly active 24/7.

The Vindication's Judgement

The Vindication's Judgement is a sacred spell that can be only used by Celestial Slayers. The spell however can only be activated upon death. As the Celestial Slayer dies in battle, he or she becomes engulfed in a blinding golden light. A golden apperation reaches out and instantaneously grabs the soul of the enemy that struck down the Celestial Slayer. The being drags the enemy's soul and drags it into the bright golden light and fades in an explosion that harms only enemy allies. Nothing else is affected by the attack. This is only one of the 3 Celestian Harbringer spells that is known.

VanHellsin24 -> RE: (DF) Grimm Tales of Van Hellsin (2/28/2012 13:28:05)

Dromian Crushers

Dromian Crushers are human hybrids of lesser demons who are created to destroy Celestial Slayers. Crushers were created originally by a man named Alexander Dromian, after launching a failed siege on a Celestial Compound. His original intentions were to create his own Celestial Slayer, but instead made hybrids that can match the power of a Celestial Slayer. Crushers are expert hand-to-hand combatants, but can resort to weapons and magic if necessary.Although a normal Crushers cannot defeat a Celestial Slayer, a pack of Crushers can overwhelm a Celestial Slayer with ease.

Dromian Crusher Magic: Necro-Physical Magic

Dromian Crushers have an exceptionally large resovoir of mana, enough to rival Celestial Slayers. Although Crushers have demonic abilities and spells, they possess one particular type that proves a challenges the power if Astral-Physical magic. It's a lost art named Necro-Physical magic. It involves the user drawing on necrotic forces and assimilating it into his or her body. Then, while "charged" on necrotic energy, they can unleash total destruction onto their enemies. The magics of Necro-Physical magic can nerf most Celestial Slayer abilities, but prolonged usage can make the user's body weaker to light and Astral spells. This causes some Crushers to wear full plated armor.

Dracolich Morph

The most powerful and basic spell of all Crushers is the ability to become a dracolich. In this form their senses are heightened and can track Celestial Slayers with ease. Their power and magic resevoir is increase dramatically, as well as the ability to near fully nerf a Celestial Slayer's abilities. However, there is only one drawback: their resistence to light. In human form they can easily walk in daylight without any drawbacks. In dracolich form, the smallest rays of light can seriously injure them. Also, they are vulnerable to fire and anything else that had lluminescance. The biggest asset to using this spell is that, while in this form, they can virtually store a portion of their soul in Purgatory, making them near invincible to death. However, Vindicator's Judgement can still kill them effectively.

Two
The Genesis Amulet

Crow held the Genesis Dragon Amulet in his hand, examining its grooves and design. His head was throbbing as he tried to remember his dragon. Surely, his dragon couldn't have died. Celestial Dragons are immortal beings. His dragon, Lazarus, was one of the only Celestial Dragons to had survive the Judgement War. Besides Lazarus, only about 7 others survived. By now they were fully grown, roaming the universe. He could summon Lazarus right now if he wanted to. The Genesis Amulet has that ability, as well as another set of abilities. Winter and Warlic were down in the Inn while Crow rested. He got up and leaned out the window, gazing at the sky. He rubbed the red ruby, which was in the vented of the Amulet. It wasn't a ruby, but his and Lazarus' blood. He concentrated mana into the Amulet, which began to glow.

A blaze of blinding fire blazed down from the heavens and swooped inside Crow's room. The fireball dispersed leaving a baby dragon in its place. The dragon had golden skin and white horns on its head. Its wings were magnificent for a baby dragon, folding graciously. It had strange markings similar to Crow's covering its torso. The dragon flew to Crow and nudged its head next to his. Crow was quite familiar with Lazarus' smooth head against his.

"Crow, it has been such a long time," Lazarus spoke.

"Indeed brother. How have you been, searching the universe?"

"Alas, my searches have come to a stop for now. Urgent matters have shown themselves on Lore."

"So it has what I've been fearing. The Crushers are searching for the other two Sacred Dragon Amulets."

"Not the Crushers, brother, but a more deadly force. 'They' are making their way to Lore now."

"Who?" But as soon as the question would be answered Warlic came in the room.

"Crow, I must depart now. There are some ingredients that I need to collect to make a new potion."

"Alright Warlic." And with that he left.

"Lazarus, we need to find the other two Amulets."

"One is already being used. The other hasn't been unlocked."

"Who is using the first one?"

"A DragonLord named Godfrey. He owns the Alpha Amulet."

"Should we take it? The Amulet is in respectable ownership."

"Yes, so we should search for the Omega Amulet." Crow started to walk to the door with Lazarus in suit. As they approached the Inn entrance Winter stopped Crow.

"Where are you going?"

"Somewhere important, and urgent." She held his arm and blushed.

"I want to come as well."

"It would be safe to stay here." She drew back, depressed by the answer. Lazarus flew up to Crow's head.

"I thought you had feelings for the girl. We're going to need every hand we can get on this matter." Crow felt bad, then turned to Winter.

"Lets go. I'm sure this could help you understand what I do for a living." She smiled as she ran to them. He turned to Lazarus, who nodded in approval.

The Three Sacred Amulets
Genesis, Alpha and Omega

Most individuals are familiar with the powerful Dragon Amulet used by the powerful DragonLords. The power that a Dragon Amulet possesses is immense. However, the first three Dragon Amulets were so powerful that they could merge the User and their dragon into one. The Sacred Dragon Amulets were forged by the predecessors of common day Dracomancers in the ability to bond with dragons with a powerful artifact. In one year, three powerful Dragon Amulets were created with the original intentions, but the users of the Amulets shaped modern Lore.

The Genesis Amulet

Three thousand years ago in modern-day DragonSpine, a tribe of dragon worshipers hatched the idea that they wanted to bond more with the dragons. They gathered enough resources and magic to create an amulet that would allow its user to speak and bond with a dragon IF it accepted the user of the Amulet. The Genesis Amulet had extreme power from bonding with different dragons from time after time. An ability that is unique to the Genesis Amulet is the ability to become impervious to dragon attacks (besides clawing and biting and tail whipping). In time the Genesis Amulet was deemed too powerful and was to be sealed inside a secret cave deep underground the Dragonspine mountains. However, the Amulet was given as a gift to a man from the future by the chieftain of the tribe. He prophesied that he would run into an encounter with a "dragon from the heavens above."

The Alpha Amulet

The Alpha Amulet is believed to be the first "Alignment-driven object" in Lorian history. The Amulet was created by the Dracomancer warrior Oraelous Razencrow Trikulzarus. He was a man of pure intentions and of a brave heart. He crafted the Amulet using a portion of his own pure soul, perfecting it. The Alpha Amulet gave the user the amazing ability to bond with Greater Dragons (different from Great Dragons, just larger than normal dragons). Also, equipped with Oraelous' own armor (which became the basis of today's DragonLord armor) the user became a fighting force of good and justice. His or her's power was believed to be god-like. It didn't take too long for the Amulet to become lost to history during a war between the Dracomancers and the predecessors of modern day DragonSlayers. Thousands of years later the Amulet wad discovered by an unnamed DragonLord who has bonded with a Greater Dragon.

The Omega Amulet

The Omega Amulet was crafted by a group of evil Dracomancers hell-bent on controlling all of dragonkind, and almost succeeded, too. The Omega Amulet was "born" inside the heart of a dying Greater Darkness Dragon. The Amulet was said to possess dark power far greater than any known artifact at the time. This also made bonding with the Omega Amulet impossible for any Lorian Dragon. Instead, with the Amulet, one was able to manipulate thousands of dragons at once under one user. One Dracomancer named Vindorsan nearly controlled the entire dragon race, until the "God of all Dragons" intervened and killed him before he could finish the job. Legend says that the Omega Amulet is sealed away under the protection of the fabled DragonKing. Others believed its buried away on the spot Vindorsan perished, hidden underground, ready to cause havoc and destruction

VanHellsin24 -> RE: (DF) Grimm Tales of Van Hellsin (2/29/2012 20:20:46)

Three
The Bomb

"How did you survive all this time," Crow asked. Winter was busy thinking about Crow she didn't notice the question. When she did she blushed.

"When I picked up the Amulet, I guess I activated some Chronomantic portal. I knew it was Chronomantic because I saw you use it before." He nodded.

"At the least, you're safe. That's what matters to me because…well… I love you and all." She froze, absorbing the information.

So the feeling was mutual! !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Winter passed out, still shocked. Lazarus smirked.

"Carry her, the Omega Amulet is only a few hours away." Crow picked her up, resting her in his arms like an injured person.

"I think it wad bad timing."

"Don't doubt yourself."

"But it's like, I loved her the first time I saw her. I wouldn't call it love at first sight, but something of the sorts."

"You're young Crow, you have a lot to learn. I have faith in you brother."

"Thanks brother."

Winter awoke inside a tent on a scenic view of a valley at afternoon. She got out and saw Crow and Lazarus watching the sunset, reveling in the sight. Crow sighed, stretching his arms. As he turned, he saw Winter looking at him and Lazarus. He walked to her.

"I love you too," she said. She held his hands in hers, interlocking fingers. They embraced each other, love filling the two young lovebirds. They kissed passionately, for a while. After which they just stared into each others eyes, realizing that they found the courage to tell their feelings. It brought back nostalgia of the first time they met.

Crow sat in the small Mage Guild sleeping as usual. He'd just finish 4 jobs in a row and rest was the first thing to his mind. As he was roused awake by another duel, he got up and ran for the door. As he did he bumped into a woman who fell on him. They looked at each other, faces too close for just strangers. They were like that for a quick second but it felt like minutes to them.

"Sorry about that," Crow said as he helped her up. Their hands touched, each other liking the feel of the other. They would have held longer if it weren't for a man named Zodiac who came through the door.

"Move out of the doorway loverbirds," he said. Crow smiled.

"What's your name?"

"I'm Winter Dragonrock."

"Crow Van Hellsin."

"That's a cool name."

"Thanks." They stood there a little bit longer until Winter remembered something important.

"Sorry, I'm going to go turn this job in." Crow nodded.

"I have to leave anyways. Another duel is about to start." Winter smiled.

"Ill see you around Crow."

"Cya Winter."

After 4 hours of digging they found the Omega Amulet. It looked a lot like a Dragon Amulet, but more corruptive.

"What do we do about it?" Crow asked.

"Seal it under powerful magic," Lazarus answered.

"We could ask Warlic."

"Splendid." Crow picked it up and placed it inside a bag he carried along. Winter smiled at him.

"Why do you need all these Amulets?"

"Not sure at the moment. Right now, I own the Genesis and the Omega Amulets and some DragonLord owns the Alpha Amulet."

"Is his name Godfrey?" Crow nodded.

"I think you might be able to see him. Dragongrasp is heading over to Falconreach in a few days."

"She's right," Lazarus spoke. "Dragongrasp even should be arriving tomorrow." Then he pointed his tail to the horizon. A Greater Ice Dragon was in the horizon carrying a large fortress with the Dragon Amulet sign on the various banners on it.

"Ready?" Winter said as she turned back to Falconreach. Lazarus roared out to the Greater Ice Dragon, which roared back in return. Crow opened up a time portal with a flick of his wrist.

"I'm ready." As they began to enter, the Omega Amulet began to glow intensely. It formed a sort of gravity from preventing Crow from entering the portal.

"It's not letting me enter," he said. "You guys go on." Winter hugged him.

"Be safe," she said. Lazarus flew straight in with Winter behind. As the portal closed Crow began walking.

You finally did it... he told himself. Then, a large shadow draped over him, seeming to grow larger. He jumped to the side dodging a giant dragon's foot. He looked up and saw a giant fire dragon eyeing him with blazing eyes. It had magnificent crimson and gold armor plating that seemed to amplify it's fiery presence. A figure jumped off and landed with extreme power. He wore what sort of looked like the DragonLord armor, but more tribal and more powerful. He had a giant sword that had to be placed on his back. It seemed nearly as tall as the man himself.

"You! You have the Omega Amulet!" Crow got up, forming light around his fists.

"You have the Alpha Amulet." The man was shocked, and sighed.

"You know about the Amulets too?"

"Yea."

"So you must be the man from the future." It didnt hit him then, but it suprised Crow that someone figured it out.

"Yea, that's me."

"Sorry about the attack mate. Siegfried here told me the Omega Amulet wad below. The dragon nodded.

"Most apologies Van Hellsin," he said.

"It's ok." At that moment the Omega Amulet flew into the sky overhead, gaining speed. As it reached the clouds it exploded with the power of 1,000,000 mana bombs. Undead Dracomancers crept from the ground in an instant, and the 3 were surrounded.

"Can you fight Van Hellsin," Godfrey asked. Crow began to gather energy around his body. He jumped and created a sphere of celestial power. He set forth the power in a beam, destroying hundreds of the undead Dracomancers.

"I can handle my own." Godfrey laughed.

"That's the fighting spirit!" With that he jumped on Siegfried and rushed into the sky. Siegfried engulphed his body in fire and shot at the Amulet.

"I'll handle the Dracomancers. Plus…" Night had finally set over the sky. Crow's hair hung in the air flowing from the energy he was gathering from the stars. His body began to glow gold with his eyes blazing white energy.

"The stars are out."

Four
War

Godfrey and Crow decimated the entire group of undead Dracomancers within half an hour. Siegfried had bonded the Omega Amulet within a magic called Dragon's Light. The three weren't tired, nor finished.

The Dragoon was still alive.

The deranged half dragon half human monstrosity stood with blazen eyes amongst the rubble of the area. Godfrey shot forth a giant dragon shaped beam of energy. The Dragoon jumped to the side dodging the attack, but Crow took advantage of the moment. He decapitated the beast by kicking its head off clean.

"The Dragoons aren't extinct anymore?" Godfrey asked.

"They should be," Crow said. "Galanoth and his Order sure took care of them."

"You suppose the Omega Amulet possesses some sort of draconic Necromancy?"

"Yeah. Evidence was that near army of undead Dracomancers." Crow picked up the Dragoon's body and disapated it into the air.

"We should head to Falconreach," Siegfried said. "The Vultragons will have a feast." The other two nodded, as they began walking.

The three reached Falconreach in a few minutes. Dragongrasp remained airborne over the city, but a few DragonLords dropped down time after time.

"We're getting supplies and recruiting adventurers for a war coming up," Godfrey said. "We believe a new Amulet was formed and the user has declared war on the DragonLord Guild."

"A new Amulet? That person must have insane magic power to create an Amulet," Crow said. Godfrey nodded.

"Ti's be true. I would like to be of assistance to your journey, but this war needs to be addressed to." Siegfried flew off towards Dragonsgrasp while Crow and Godfrey walked to the Inn.

"Where did you find the Alpha Amulet?" Crow asked.

"Well, before I was a DragonLord, I was an Elite Berserker for my tribe up in the Northlands. While fighting a small army of Alteon's knights I found the Amulet inside a skeleton in the snow. The moment I picked it up I gained magical powers."

"Wow. You don't seem like a Berserker."

"Yea, I know." He scratched his dark blue hair. The door to the Inn swung open with great force. Damian walked in, eyes ablazen with anger. The moment he turned, Crow hook kicked him through the Inn wall. He grabbed Damian's head and punched him. Damian punched Crow in the face and enveloped himself in darkness.

"What are you doing here!" Crow shouted. Damian chuckled.

"I come seeking war, and war I shall receive." He raised his sword and brought down a torrent of malevolent shadows. As it neared Crow a wall of fire arose before him, engulfing the shadows. Winter tried to suppress the shadows even further, but with little to no luck. Godfrey unsheathed his sword and jumped over to attack Damian. Damian grabbed him by the neck and slammed him to the floor. Crow roundhouse kicked Damaian into the Pet Shop. He got up and raced to Crow, who only entangled him within a ball of light.

"You're not at full power," Crow said.

"Then again, this really isnt me." Damian vanished into darkness. Then a large flying dragonoid figure flew off into the night in the distance.

VanHellsin24 -> RE: (DF) Grimm Tales of Van Hellsin (3/30/2012 11:46:23)

Five
Solaris

Winter quickly ran into Godfrey as she heard about the news of the war Damian proposed two nights prior. She asked about Crow's and Lazarus' wherabouts, but to no avail.

"They just disappeared," Godfrey said. " I'd go look but this isn't the right time." Winter shook her head.

"Can't you help me? I'm worried right now about them." Godfrey sighed.

"Im sorry but the Drageans are not to far away, and I'm in charge of leading the first wave." At that moment a loud echoing trumpet erupted with it's deafening noise. Godfrey gave an apologetic smile before running off to begin the first battle. Winter walked back to the Inn and sat down alone in a corner, unnoticed. Crow quickly ran through the door, wearing only his tattered cape, jeans and now a buttoned t-shirt. A strange woman was sitting at a table, drinking her tea while eyeing him. Winter noticed and became enraged. Crow looked as if he was ready to take on the world, with a facial expression of pure defiance. The woman got up and walked over to him.

"Hey, you," she said.

"Long time Nightgale," he said in reply. She had long white hair curling down to her back. She wore a yellow skirt with stockings with flat boots, a bright yellow corset with a strange amulet around her neck. She concealed her hands within her sleeves, making Winter even more uneasy. Nightgale swiftly hugged Crow, enraging Winter to her breaking point. Crow eased out of her grip. He said something to her, which made her quite uneasy. She started to plead, but he was refusing. Finally, he rested a hand on her shoulder, and she blushed. She walked away, and Crow waved at her. He turned and noticed Winter sitting alone, staring out the window. He ran to her and hugged her close to him. She blushed, but didn't let Crow see.

"Where have you been?"

"Training."

"Where?"

"Solaris."

"What's that?"

"A small town where I can train with other Celestial Slayers." Winter turned to him.

"Can you show me?" Crow drew back with uncertainty in his eyes.

"I don't think so. They only let Celestial Slayers and dragons in."

"Who was that girl you spoke to just now?"

"My sister Nightgale." Winter kicked herself mentally. She shouldn't have jumped to conclusions about Crow. But yet, there was much she didn't know about him. "I haven't seen her in 40 years."

"But she looks so young!"

"She's not human. She's a Vindicator."

"What's a Vindicator?" At that moment Nightgale came through the door.

"Crow. We need to go." Crow kissed Winter before heading out.

"Ill be back," he said. As he walked out, he grabbed something that was thrown to him.

A sword.

Six
Fulfilled Prophecy

The Drageans pushed forward inland, giving the Imperial DragonLord chase. However, when Godfrey appeared they managed to destroy much pf the first wave. Not to far off from the fighting was the small town of Solaris. Solaris is the small settlement in which Celestial Slayers can commune. They usually meet when a pressing matter surfaces, but besides that it was a tight knit town that banned outsiders.

"Those dammed Drageans," a man shouted. "Just because the little pieces of crape believe they have some dragon blood in them they can wage war?!" A woman hushed him.

"They aren't directly attacking us Xavier," she said softly. "Plus I heard Godfrey the DragonLord is leading the Imperial DragonLord Army." Xavier grunted.

"That boy better know what he's doing. If he doesn't..." At that precise moment a large explosion ripped into the air nearby. He got up, channeling black energy around his arm. "I just want to stop the fighting Kaylee." The woman smiled.

"The war didn't start yet. The Dragean Queen already said it's only a rogue group. Besides, with your power I'm surprised you didn't destroy this planet already." Xavier laughed. Crow appeared outside their house with Nightgale. Kaylee ran and opened the door for them.

"Welcome home my little children." Crow hugged his mom and kissed her on the cheek.

"Hey mom." Then he looked at Xavier. Xavier was his stepfather, ever since his real dad was killed by a Crusher. He never liked Xavier and vice versa.

"Dragonclaw."

"Hellsin." Nightgale smiled at her mom sheepishly.

"When does Acheron arrive?" Crow asked. Acheron was the oldest and most powerful Celestial Slayer he knew. Around Crushers, the mere mention of Acheron Zephyr sent chills down their spines. Acheron had aquired the ability to align to an element to boost his magic. Ironically, he aligned to darkness. Crow also learnedly to align to an element: energy. However, he cant use it efficiently so his mother sent for Acheron.

"What will I do?" Nightgale asked.

"You're destined for something great. Believe me," Kaylee said.

"Do you still use Chronomancy brother?"

"Not as much. How come the sudden interest?" Nightgale's face became red.

"No it's ok." Crow hugged her.

"Faith." She nodded. Then a loud rapping noise echoed in the small one room cottage. The door slowly creaked ajar, and a small trail of darkened fog slipped in with the door closing shut behind it. The fog morphed into a tall muscular man. He had dark red eyes accompanied by his menacing jet black long hair. He wore peasant clothing, but his right arm was a sort of demonic armor arm. He had a gray/green cape with a few katanas sheathed to his waist. He smiled, revealing elongated canine teeth and other sharp razor teeth.

"Crow Van Hellsin," the man said. Everyone knew who this was, but was still in shock.

"Acheron Zephyr," everyone said in unison. The man nodded.

"Crow, we must begin your training immediately. If you want to master energy, and maybe another element as well, we must start now." Crow nodded as he grabbed the hilt of his katana. Xavier got up out of his chair and waved at Acheron, who only nodded. As Crow and Acheron began leaving the small house, Nightgale hugged her brother.

"Remember the promise to dad," she said. Crow smiled, a tear welling in his eye.

"I could never forget it." Then he ran out following Acheron.

"So what is the element you are able to manipulate with your Celestial Slayer magic?" Acheron asked.

"It's energy."

"Good. If you train hard enough and advance beyond my teaching you might be able to manipulate fire as well." Crow shuddered at that fact. He wasn't an avid fan of fire, for personal reasons. The last time he used fire ended up burning numerous tribal markings all over his body. They didn't hurt, but it remains forever imprinted in the back of his mind.

"Do I really need to use fire?"

"Believe me, as being one of the 4 prime elements, yes it is." They reached a tree with a swirling portal latched onto it.

"We're going to Ravenloss? I hope we don't disturb the Weavers."

"Chaos, yes we will. Soul, not good."

"Is there a problem with SoulWeavers?" Acheron shook his head.

"As Celestial Slayers we don't bother others who share similar magic." They entered a small alley inside the underground cryptic city. "Your first task is to use both energy and Celestial magic to locate Tomix." Crow tried to gather energy within his arms, but something was blocking his flow.

"I cant concentrate my Energy magic."

"Sure you can. Try focusing more." Crow focused enough energy to create a static cling. He then focused his magic to detect any living being. There were 12, but one human like being. He fused the Energy and Celestial magic and shot out the magic. In a second he paralyzed all living beings.

"Lets go!" Crow said. The two sprinted off, sensing the being. When they found it, they were amazed and shocked. Tomix had gathered the magic in a freshly woven orb.

"Ah, Acheron," he said. "I didn't expect you here." Then he turned his attention to Crow.

"This is Crow Van Hellsin, a fine Celestial Slayer. I was teaching him to develop his Energy magic." Tomix nodded.

"If you need to train this boy, please direct him to the Park." He then motioned at the orb. "This magic is letheal, combining Celestial and Elemental magic. Be careful on how you direct your magic."

"I'm sorry Tomix. I'm just getting used to it." Tomix nodded.

"Don't worry. I used to be eager like you as a young boy." Then he pointed off in the distance. "Silkwood Park is that way. I must depart, for I have urgent business in Pellow Village. If you need me," motioning at the portal behind him, " just come through." Tomix began walking towards the portal, but turned around before leaving.

"Is there something wrong Tomix?" Acheron asked.

"Whatever you do Crow, DO NOT talk to a man wearing a red hood. His name is Murk. I don't know much about him, but I wouldn't interact with him if I were you." With a mood, he left them alone.

"He's a very wise individual," Acheron said. Crow slipped his hood over his head.

"We need to head out now," Crow said.

"Why so eager?"

"I don't know. I feel like something horrible is about to begin."

Godfrey swung his sword around, cutting down yet another Dragean. The Army had pushed back the incoming wave to it's source: a cave. As he neared it the Alpha Amulet began to glow.

"Something's not right Siegfried." The dragon swooped over, sniffing the air.

"We should pull back." However, he passed judgement too late. A giant rush of darkness spewed out from the cave, incinerating the Drageans and some DragonLords. Godfrey jumped onto Siegfried's back.

"What is this?!" Then a giant black dragon crawled out from the entrance. It bore the Omega Amulet on its forehead.

"How?!" Siegfried roared. "Didn't Crow take it?!" Then Godfrey remembered when Damian came into the Inn.

"A Dromian Crusher came and engaged him in battle. At some point he probably stole it." Then a being in shiny spiky armor emerged on the dragon's back.

"Godfrey the DragonLord?" he said ," it is a pleasure to be in such a great warrior's mists." Godfrey nodded.

"This is the man. Damian Alabaster." Damian laughed to himself.

"I'm quite flattered, but I came to serve justice." Then the dragon jumped airborne. When it left many armored individuals raced out. They each began gathering dark energy, racing to the rest of the Army.

"I wont let you escape, Crusher."

"Oh, you don't say?" Then the dragon roared violently. "Severin doesn't appeal to your ideas." Siegfried roared back.

"You don't want to test me Crusher," Siegfried bellowed. Damian laughed, increasing his demonic energy.

"No. It is I who shouldn't be tested!" Then Severin rushed in, breathing a giant funnel of darkness. Siegfried flew out of the way. He breathed a firestorm onto the black dragon. Damian was still laughing.

"The Prophecy shall commence!" The skies grew black as Severin grew larger with every passing second. The Alpha and Omega Amulets glew brightly. The two dragons clashed in the sky, causing havoc.

"No, I didn't summon you Lazarus," Crow said. "Plus, the Genesis Amulet is going off." Lazarus instantly glew white, following Crow.

"The Prophecy is unfolding," Acheron said. Crow and Lazarus shot through the sky in a white light. Acheron quickly ran into Pellow Village, preparing for any scenario. As Severin and Siegfried fought, a blinding light shot into the sky. Lazarus was fully grown, dwarfing the other two. Crow's hair turned gold, floating up without gravity. His tribal marks glew white, golden aura seeping from his eyes.

"Crow!" Godfrey shouted. Crow shot down next to him.

"We're going to need to withdraw. He's at his apex." Godfrey grabbed him.

"Are you KIDDING me?!"

"WE NEED TO RETREAT NOW!" Crow stared into Godfrey's eyes.

"Alright," Godfrey said in a defeated tone. "Men! Retreat!" The Army retreated, already losing to the army of Crushers. Damian laughed.

"Don't worry, we shall return!" As he and Severin flew back Damian looked back at Crow.

"We will fight Slayer." Then Crow spoke from behind him.

"Oh, we will." Damian stood, genuinely afraid.

"War begins now. A WAR IN WHICH THE GODS THEMSELVES WILL PASS JUDGEMENT!"

"I have the gods on my side." Damian drifted away into the darkness.

"Oh, believe me. You have it wrong, Celestial Slayer!"

BACKSTORY #1
SCHOOL DAYS

Alexander held a book in his hands, reading a magic tome on ice magics. A hand came down, swatting the book. Warlic laughed as he walked off.

"Is there anyone that doesn't feel the need to bother me?!" Then a young man with black hair wearing battle robes walked up to him.

"Don't sweat Warlic Alex."

"You shouldn't be talking Crow. You keep to yourself alone."

"You do as well." Crow shrugged.

"Someone new is coming today."

"Who?"

"You'll see her." Crow walked off, waving a hand. "Cya when class begins."

Seven
Clash

Crow had calmed down by the time he got to Falconreach. The Army had settled back in Dragongrasp, ready to depart once more. Siegfried and Lazarus shrunk down to toddlers, flying next to their partners.

"I'm going to stay in Falconreach," Godfrey said.

"How come?"

"That Damian fellow might come after me, or more importantly the Alpha Amulet."

"You could stay at my house for the meanwhile."

"No, I rather the Guardian Tower barracks." When they entered town Acheron, Warlic and Tomix stood poised outside the Inn.

"Godfrey and Crow," Warlic said, "you two rest for the meanwhile. We need to talk to you both." At that moment Godfrey slapped Crow on the back.

"Let's meet up here at night."

"Sure." Crow walked away to the Inn, preparing for lunch. He walked up to his room and entered, closing the door behind him. Winter was sleeping on his bed, forcing a small laugh. He took off his cloak and threw it to the side.

"I'm gonna need a new one." Winter sneaked up to Crow, pulling him down to her in a loving embrace. They kissed before Crow turned around to face her. They held hands, interlocking their fingers, smiling.

"Hey," she whispered. He kissed her head, making her blush.

"How have you been?"

"Until you arrived I've been quite bored." Crow ran his fingers through Winter's hair gently.

"I'm glad to have been of service."

"Anything happen to you?" Crow sighed.

"A lot, but I don't want to burden you." She kissed him again.

"You're so very sweet. I love you."

"I love you too."

Crow jumped out from the window into the night air. He landed next to a lamp post next to the Inn, feeling the brisk wind.

"You're on time," Godfrey said.

"Yea. Where are they?"

"Warlic and the other two? No clue." They looked around. No sign, until...

"Crow and Godfrey," Tomix called. The two ran around the corner. They were met by Tomix, Acheron and Warlic.

"Good evening," Acheron said. "I plan to make this quick as possible, so listen closely."

"As you two know the Sacred Amulets possess unimaginable power within them. However, after all three were made a curse was placed on them. The curse is very dangerous and can cause the unraveling of time and space. As the legend goes, three powerful people will wield these Amulets for their own use. When the time comes they will clash and fight until one person remains. When that happens all 3 Amulets will fuse into one, but in the process the universe unravels itself into TOTAL CHAOS." The two looked at each other, absorbing the news. They would fight with Damian to the death until one remains. Then Tomix shook his head.

"Rest asured. The prophecy has been 'altered' by recent events. If you two can defeat Damian the universe will unravel itself. However, you will need to destroy all 3 Amulets."

"What happens if we dont destroy them?"

"A Reset." Crow was shocked. He heard about the last Reset that occurred, and he didn't want to experience it.

"But the Genesis and Alpha Amulet Amulets were made out of good intentions." Warlic shook his head.

"Yes, but there is a miscalculation in your assumption old friend. The Alpha Amulet was purely good. The Genesis Amulet is neutral. Given on the moral alignment of its user the Amulet could become a second Alpha or Omega Amulet. If one Amulet needs to be destroyed it needs to be the Genesis Amulet." Crow shrugged. He dug in his pockets and slipped out the Genesis Amulet.

"I can time travel to different paradox dimensions. I could find a dimension that doesnt require the Prophecy to be fulfilled."

"I could go with him," Godfrey said.

"You might get lost. Even for an advanced Chronomancer as yourself Crow traveling between dimensions is risky. You could run out of mana during the warp corridors and become trapped in time forever," Acheron said. Crow shook his head.

"That won't be my first time."

"But you were saved by ME!"

"Don't you yell at me!"

"You're father would ha-" Acheron was cut off by the kick Crow delivered to his stomach, propelling him through the ground and into the sky. Crow ran after him, with the others in pursuit.

"DON'T YOU DARE SPEAK ABOUT MY FATHER YOU FOOL!" Crow enveloped his body in a blinding white aura. He shot out multiple dragon effigies at Acheron, who effortlessly deflected them.

"Someone stop Crow!" Godfrey shouted. Tomix shot out Soul Chains restraining Crow, sending him into the earth. Crow wriggled violently, trying to break free. Crow's eyes glew white, grew sharp fangs and became more muscular. His hair became wild and feral.

"LET. ME GO!" Warlic added a powerful restraining magic to the Soul Chains, holding down Crow. Acheron laughed.

"That's the spirit lad. Your father would have been proud!" Crow instantaneously rose to his feet and broke free from the binding magic. He jumped into the air, punching Acheron in the face. Acheron flew back, but began encircling himself in a dark aura. "Try showing some emotional restraint you brat." Acheron enveloped the shadow around his arms to form dragon-like claws. Crow appeared, sending his fist barreling at Acheron. He shielded it with his arms. The two began trading fearsome and destructive punches and kicks, sending energy flying in all directions.

"Young Slayer, have you no control over your emotions? How do you even begin to think to fight a Crusher when you can't control your feelings?" Crow swung his foot, propelled by his Celestial magic. He instantly kicked Acheron down into the earth, causing a large crater near the Hydra Bridge.

"I COULD CARE LESS ABOUT ANY OF THAT! NO BEING WILL SPEAK OF MY FATHER AND EXPECT TO SEE A FUTURE!" He jumped into the sky and breathed a funnel of white fire, scorching the earth. Acheron stood in it, blocking it with as much energy as he can. Acheron shook his head.

"I believe you've had enough time to calm down." Acheron then appeared behind Crow and strangled him in gigantic dark wisps. "Calm down. Then I will release you." Crow fought back violently, breathing scorching white fire everywhere.

"It's incredible," Tomix said. "He can cause so much damage, and hasn't reached his apex. The power of a Celestial Slayer is impressive." The tribal markings on Crow began to spread. Acheron, noticing, releases the grip he held on Crow. Crow plummeted to the ground, aching in pain. Acheron sent shadowy wisps into Crow, doubling his pain. The markings began to recede to their former positions.

"What's happening?" Godfrey asked.

"Crow somehow sealed an ancient evil within his body. If I hadn't repelled it who knows the hell this boy would have caused."

"Why would he have done such a thing to himself?" Warlic surmised. Tomix shrugged.

"Those marks are very familiar. I will go and research what I can on them."

"Can't you slip it out from him?"

"Yes, but who knows what type of ancient evil inhabits his soul. Take percautions, lest a calamity falls upon us." Crow shook a bit before falling still.

"He's out cold," Acheron said.

"What will we do with him?" Godfrey asked.

"Rest him by the tree. I'll return for him in a few, as I have pressing matters to attend to." Then, just like that, he walked of into the direction of Oaklore Keep. Godfrey shook his head.

"Heh, I feel bad for the next guy to speak of his father."

Tomix and Warlic nodded. "Agreed."

Eight
Awakening Magic

Winter crawled out of bed, peering out of the window. The birds were flying around, free of any problems. Nature had begun her day, but Winter was just getting ready. She walked out the room and out of the Inn. She son met a small spring that she discovered a day or two ago. She stripped her clothing and bathed herself behind the waterfall. After a few minutes she emerged and placed her clothes on.

"I wonder where Crow is? He promised me he'd help with my magic." Winter headed up a nearby path that led to a sunny field. She looked around, intaking the intoxicating scent of lavenders and sunflowers. She slipped out a dagger and held the blade in her hand. She meditated, pushing mana through her fingers into the cold steel blade.

"Gelida Ferro Pugione." The dagger's blade immediately turned into solid ice. Winter giggled, finally mastering the spell she'd been struggling with.

"You're improving on your spells," a familiar voice said. She turned around and hugged Crow. "Be careful. That spell does more than freeze the blade."

"Really?" Crow took the dagger carefully by the handle and tossed it to a tree. Near instantaneously, the tree turned into solid ice. Winter looked at the ice tree in horror.

"I'm not teaching you Tundra spells because I want the world to turn into a giant iceball. Your magic blood can handle the cost of using the spells, unlike me." Winter shrugged, looking down to her palms.

"You know I won't try to hurt others."

"Yea, that I know. However, in the coming weeks your views might change a bit."

"I know about the war. Both wars. Where are the other Celestial Slayers?"

"Scattered all over Lore. However, there are two here in Falconreach."

"That's great. Who are they?"

"A Guardian named Kain and one of the Knights. Sir Pent, I believe. Once I get them, we're going have to go to Dragesvard to pick up 4 more."

"Why so many?"

"I shouldn't tell you this, but you're going to learn sooner or later. The Celestial Slayer city of Solaris was abandoned a while ago. No one knows why, however. But if enough Celestial Slayers can channel some energy into the Core Solaris underneath the city, we can get the city up and running. Then, we can assemble an army. It's a long stretch, but it can be completed by next week."

"When will you leave?"

"Tonight, that's why I wanted to bring you here." He got down on a knee, and dug in his pocket. He took out a golden ring with detailed runes. In the middle was a sapphire gem." Tears welled up in Winter's eyes.

"Acheron....I..-"

"Winter, you're one of the most incredible human beings that I know. You're different than other women, and that's why I love you. You're gentle, comforting, and very sweet and honest. Please, make me the happiest man and marry me."

"Crow...I...-" Then Crow smelled smoke.

"Fire!" Crow ran and tackled Winter, pushing her out of the way. A large fireball slammed into Crow's back, knocking him unconscious. A giant hellbat soared in the air, ready to come down on Winter. Before she could launch any attacks a Guardian flew through the air, slamming into the monster. He channeled Celestial magic through the blade, making it broader and longer. He decapitated the hellbat and kicked it's body away.

"Thank you, but he needs help!" Winter said. The Guardian nodded.

"I never thought I'd see a Celestial Slayer taken down by a hellbat. Then he looked at Crow's face.

"My fault. He hasn't fed on star energy as yet." The Guardian slung Crow over his shoulders.

"Are you...."

"Yes. Guardian Kain, General and Celestial Slayer."

Crow appeared in a white oblivion, floating effortlessly. He looked around, but it was white for as far as he could see.

[Where am ?

Good morning Crow. Crow spun around and faced a tall man wearing berserker hides and a golden axe on his back. From his white hair, golden eyes and warming smile he knew who it was instantly.

Father!

My my, my son. You've grown into such a young man. You look just like me when I was your age. How old are you?

17.

Wow, it's really been 12 years since... They grew silent.

Father, what are you doing here? Not to be rude or anything.

I've come bringing a message from Ko.

The Celestial God?

Indeed. Ko wants you gather as many Celestial Slayers from all over Lore and head to the abanoned city of Solaris. He sent the message onto someone else who is already on their way to power the city.

Well, I already decided on gathering the Slayer and head to Solaris.

Smart boy, but Ko also left one more task.

And that is to do what?

Eliminate every single Dromian Crusher on your way. No matter, the gender, age, condition of health. When you get to Solaris we will talk more.

Wait, Father. You're alive?

Trust me. I have a lot to explain when you arrive. With that he disappeared.

And soon after, Crow did.

Crow awoke in the Guardian Infirmary. His back smelled of charred flesh, stinging with intense pain. He looked around to see a few nurses and Guardians walk about. Some glancing at him before going back to their already hectic lives. He looked to his left and noticed a strange-looking Guardian Blade. It was the Guardian Blade, but it was 4 times its size. It had glowing runes covering the blade and spikes.

"It's a very rare form of Celestial magic," a voice said. Crow looked up to see a Guardian sitting in a chair next to him.

"Durga always told me that my magic was very rare, but I still don't know how it's rare."

"Durga was your Avatar?"

"Yes. What about you?"

"Ko."

"Oh."

"Are you Guardian Kain?"

"Yes. And you must be Crow Van Hellsin." Crow tried to sit up, but the intense burning pain of the wound on his back forced him back to lying down.

"How do you know I'm a Celestial Slayer."

"Same reason I know you're a Celestial Slayer. It's just that intuition."

"So did you hear?"

"About the wars? Yes. News travels fast here."

"Oh. Then you know why fate brought us here." Then a man in clad knight armor entered the room. There was a slight glow behind him, showing his Celestial magic.

"We are very aware Van Hellsin. We're willing to join you on your journey." Then he held Crow's shoulders. The burning sensation quickly disappeared. Crow got out of bed and stretched his arms.

"When do we depart?"

"Tonight. I advise you guys to prepare any form of light food and change of clothing to last 2 days." Kain and Sir Pent nodded. "Where is..-"

"Oh, the girl," Kain said," she's outside the tower." Crow nodded.

"Thanks." And with that he jumped from the window. He landed with a soft thud, nothing immense to disturb anything but the grass underneath him.

"Yes," a voice said. Crow turned around to see Winter standing. He walked over to her, held her hands, and kissed her.

"Thank you," Crow whispered. Tears ran down Winter's face.

"I won't be able to come with you," she said.

"Why?"

"I just can't. I don't want to be a burden to you."

"You never are and you never will."

"Please, Crow." He started to cry.

"I don't know what to say." She kissed him.

"At the least, can you give me a child."

"Of course, I will."

Kain and Sir Pent stood at the entrance of Falconreach with their backpacks on. Crow walked up with his backpack as well.

"Where are we headed now?" Kain asked.

"Dragesvard. There's a Celestial Slayer over there. However, I believe she doesn't realize that others of our kind live."

"Well I guess we better leave now," Sir Pent asked.

"Yea," Crow said. He looked at a window in the Inn. With his hearing he heard faint cries. "Let's go."
