Hey guys! Here is some help for people :)

There has been a lot of people who don't understand how Static Charge works for the cyber hunter. :) Some believe that it is given by taking a % of your damage and adding it to your reserve. This, however, is not true. Here is how it works! :)

Static Charge works by taking 100% of your combined base damage from strength and primary weapon damage. That will be the number that is considered for the energy restore.

Here is an example.

Let's say your primary attack is 14-17 + 34

Ok, now take either the low end (14) or high end (17) of your damage (whichever hits, it may even be 15 or 16, but I hope you understand so far)

Take whichever number you hit, say 14, and add 34 to it since static charge does 100% of damage.

The number you now have is 48.

Since 100% of damage is influence, times 48 by 1.00 (or 100%) to total 48. :)

Now here is where the skill level comes in.

Say you have max Static Charge, which is 29% since the nerf on it. (used to be 55%)

Use 48 (the number we received up there) and times it by 13.92 (or 14).

The number you know have is , which is rounded to .

21 is the energy you receive from Static Charge depending on your strength and which end of damage you hit at (14,15,16 or 17).

Static Charge is NOT effected by the hit you do on an enemy. For instance, you could still do only 3 damage but gain 15 energy from it.

EDIT***
I cut the link since it gave back outdated information on static charge :)

EDIT***
New nerf on static charge :/ now it's just 29%...which is horrifying...

gangster a -> RE: Hey guys! (3/1/2012 8:05:58)

this is brilliant for people who just changed cyber even though i know what static charge is but still nice one.
and see if you know who i am :P

Stabilis -> RE: Hey guys! (3/1/2012 8:11:05)

Thanks for taking your time to give a guidance pointer.

(I already know this)

Now many more CH will understand Static Charge better. Would this simply be a good Samaritan act? Well if so, that is a friendly conjecture of you.

I use this formula to select an appropriate energy count for my build. Right now I have it set to either 18 or 20 energy.

8x -> RE: Hey guys! (3/1/2012 8:14:06)

Devs should think about changing the description on static charge, because right now it has almost the same description as frenzy.

rayniedays56 -> RE: Hey guys! (3/1/2012 8:16:24)

It's why it is so confusing for people :) I figured I'd help people understand :)

Fay Beeee -> RE: Hey guys! (3/1/2012 8:17:02)

Very nice and well thought explanation. :)
and Hi. lol

All good thnx :) Hope all is well with you too. Posted here because it is off topic.

rayniedays56 -> RE: Hey guys! (3/1/2012 8:18:49)

Well hi there Fay! Hows life? :P

IsaiahtheMage -> RE: Hey guys! (3/1/2012 10:37:11)

This is why CHs are OPed because of Static Charge + Plasma Armor.

Stabilis -> RE: Hey guys! (3/1/2012 10:40:43)

Plasma armour.

Wraith -> RE: Hey guys! (3/1/2012 11:53:54)

Kudos for tricking everybody in this thread.

The reason that SC went from 55% to 44% was the 80% modifier. Now that it's 44%, the 80% modifier disapoofed.

Where did you get this info? Cuz SC was never nerfed.

rayniedays56 -> RE: Hey guys! (3/1/2012 19:27:38)

I got it from a Dev actually :) Mecha Mario I believe, but let me check my resources once more and if you are correct, I will edit and fix this.

Stabilis -> RE: Hey guys! (3/1/2012 19:40:02)

Nerfed!

rayniedays56 -> RE: Hey guys! (3/1/2012 19:43:51)

Depressed Void, please don't troll. This thread is about helping the community realize how Static Charge works. :)

Zeoth -> RE: Hey guys! (3/1/2012 19:46:29)

U would have to change it then because it has indeed been nerfed.

rayniedays56 -> RE: Hey guys! (3/1/2012 19:48:25)

I'm working on it atm :)

Stabilis -> RE: Hey guys! (3/1/2012 19:48:40)

@rayniedays,

I tell you, Static Charge is going to be nerfed!

On the next balance update!

And for your information, if I ever do troll (call an ArchKnight), my sentence structure looks like:

And what the hell are you thinking?...

rej -> RE: Hey guys! (3/1/2012 21:33:28)

Hopefully having static charge's precise statistics laid out so nicely will convince a few of the more stubborn players that Cyber Hunter is indeed overcharged. :)

Remorse -> RE: Hey guys! (3/2/2012 2:32:46)

Ah ha!!!

Thats why I always calculated static charge wrong.

Where does it say 80% of normal dmagae O.o ??

Hey guys! Here is some help for people :)

There has been a lot of people who don't understand how Static Charge works for the cyber hunter. :) Some believe that it is given by taking a % of your damage and adding it to your reserve. This, however, is not true. Here is how it works! :)

Static Charge works by taking 80% of your combined base damage from strength and primary weapon damage. That will be the number that is considered for the energy restore.

Here is an example.

Let's say your primary attack is 14-17 + 34

Ok, now take either the low end (14) or high end (17) of your damage (whichever hits, it may even be 15 or 16, but I hope you understand so far)

Take whichever number you hit, say 14, and add 34 to it since static charge does 80% of damage.

The number you now have is 48.

Since 80% of damage is influence, times 48 by .80 (or 80%) to total 38.4, which is rounded to 38.

Now here is where the skill level comes in.

Say you have max Static Charge, which is 44% since the nerf on it. (used to be 55%)

Use 38 (the number we received up there) and times it by .44 (or 44%).

The number you know have is 16.72, which is rounded to 17.

17 is the energy you receive from Static Charge depending on your strength and which end of damage you hit at (14,15,16 or 17).

Static Charge is NOT effected by the hit you do on an enemy. For instance, you could still do only 3 damage but gain 20 energy from it.
i think u got the calculation wrong.

when i use 16-20 primary +34 i get back 23 energy.
theres no way 2 less damage has a 6 energy difference.

Remorse -> RE: Hey guys! (3/2/2012 3:57:14)

^ I think this is after the static nerf this upcoming update not as it is now.

rayniedays56 -> RE: Hey guys! (3/2/2012 8:21:57)

well goldslayer, you say your primary is 16-20 + 34

Lets say at a maxed SC, and I'm going to consider the high end of your primary.

It would be 20+34=54

Times 54 by 80% (.8) and you have 43.2 (rounded to 43)

Now take max SC (44%) and times it by 43.

So...

You SHOULD gain back 18.92, or 19 energy.

HOWEVER, I now understand that SC is 100% of damage, so here is how it should now be calculated. :)

54 by 100% (1.00) is...54 :)

take 44% by 54 and you have....

23.76 or 24 energy returned.

Sound right? :)

If they do nerf Static Charge, they could reduce it back to 80% or even perhaps 75%.

75% would be 54 by 75% (.75) which is 40.5, which rounded is 41.

41 by 44% is 18.04

So, at a high end of a 16-20+34 primary, you should gain back...

24 energy at 100%
19 energy at 80%
18 energy at 75%

Happy now guys! :)

8x -> RE: Hey guys! (3/2/2012 8:30:17)

^The 80% of the damage was removed, you got your information from post that was made on 8/20/2011.

rayniedays56 -> RE: Hey guys! (3/2/2012 9:58:39)

I fixed the information guys! :)

Have fun with it, and if you are having a few problems or found an update, by all means, post :)

Lord Nub -> RE: Hey guys! (3/2/2012 11:28:32)

Just wanna throw it out there through experimentation that even if it is 21.000001 it will round up to 22 energy regen.

Energy regen doesn't round down.

Could be mistaken of course but i'm pretty sure it doesn't. May wanna ask someone who is "given" the "actual" info which is obviously no one in this general community.

Arevero -> RE: Hey guys! (3/3/2012 6:22:45)

Glad to hear that this message has aided many CH who didn't understand the CORRECT use of static. [:)]

I was also troubled by this static charge the first time i switched to CH.

Then after a few times of battling i calculated it was in fact your way of energy regain. :D
