Suggestion: New Feature: End of Battle Emotes

Description: After a battle ends, the victors, instead of the taunt emotes (shaking fists or back-flips), players may go to their settings and choose from a selection of respectable emotes to use when they win a match. Also, another feature, players may go to their settings and choose from a selection of respectable quotes to output upon death/victory. This will promote a better player-to-player atmosphere aside from the constant name-calling such as "loser"/"noob" and "gg"/"gf" which have no real depth.

Extentions: Player sprites will remain in battle until all players have opted to disconnect. There will be a 10 second timer to disconnect all players as soon as the match has ended. This will be enough time to present the battle emotes and thus demonstrate a courteous outlook on EpicDuel. We can put more pressure on the speech censor.

You may disconnect as soon as would would prefer.

sounds fair enough.

Mr. Black OP -> RE: Suggestion: Promoting In-Game Courtesy/Kindness (3/3/2012 17:14:33)

Seems kinda annoying if you are going for daily champ. Also seems like it will take a while to program instead of things like balancing classes or fixing the luck factor.

IsaiahtheMage -> RE: Suggestion: Promoting In-Game Courtesy/Kindness (3/3/2012 17:20:52)

This would be a waste of time IMO. Their is much more important things that need to be done rather then this. If you can't take the name-calling don't play. This is the internet deal with it.

drinde -> RE: Suggestion: Promoting In-Game Courtesy/Kindness (3/3/2012 19:16:02)

Sure, but there could be another way of promoting this:

In real battles (Challenge System does not count), one could choose whether they want to choose the Respect emotes, which would make an approval button appear in the Opponent's screen. This would allow them to decide whether the player was kind or good natured due to the conversation they may have had.

If so, they click the button, and the Respect user gets one Fame. This would be the ONLY way to get fame.

No more F4F!

I would say it is pretty fair.

You can exit from battle as fast you do now, the unique changes though are keeping your character sprite in battle even after you leave for all other players to see. Surviving players will perform their emote. I am with you about the terms of balance > feature development though.

Interesting, using fame to force players who want it to respect. I'm just curious as to why there is an option to play uncensored for each and every youngster to witness.

SouL Prisoner -> RE: Suggestion: Promoting In-Game Courtesy/Kindness (3/4/2012 8:17:08)

Not worth wasting Dev's time , Not Supported .

drinde -> RE: Suggestion: Promoting In-Game Courtesy/Kindness (3/4/2012 8:19:50)

@DeVo

So that Solo Players can speedkill?

Ranloth -> RE: Suggestion: Promoting In-Game Courtesy/Kindness (3/4/2012 8:20:10)

@soul
Point of it is the feature and if players would like it or how they'd see it. Mainly he wants feedback on it.
It's not about if Devs have time, he didn't say feature must be worked on asap but wants a constructive feedback.

Prime Assassin -> RE: Suggestion: Promoting In-Game Courtesy/Kindness (3/4/2012 8:24:17)

this feature would be nice. but as someone already said i want fast wins if i help a faction for champ i don't realy wan to waist my time. but for casual players it would be great. if something like this was to be made in game i suggest theres an on and off feature.

SouL Prisoner -> RE: Suggestion: Promoting In-Game Courtesy/Kindness (3/4/2012 8:29:45)

@ Trans ,even If Dev's had time , We dont hve time to preform all those silly stuff , mainly when ur opponents calls a NooB" for the whole match , and finally wins ,coz of luck , then u really except us to salute or hand shake ???

Not Supported.(My view) its only flamming and would make players mad , sounnds more like teazing...

Taking about constructive feedback , even i suggested of extending leader board ,but all said NO , only azuming it would make things laggy!! u think these action's would make the game faster???

If not about balance, the developers in general get paid to work, no matter what they do with the game. If it wastes the developer's time, it would only mean that they are not working on EpicDuel OR is much too difficult to design.

Same speed as usual, you can disconnect as soon as the last player is defeated on either side. It cuts down on lag by force-kicking all players a short time after the battle has ended. You can expect EpicDuel to run better.

I like the on/off feature. You should be able to see this on your screen when turned on, and any players who have it turned off will play as normal. Force-kicks are still in effect after 10 seconds.

We can censor the word "noob" if it bothers you. It is your sense of security after all. If we look at it as flaming, what would seem more provocative, back-flipping and saying "noob", or bowing down and forcefully saying "it was an honour"???

If you do not support my idea of courtesy that is fine, we do not always have to agree on everything.

Lord Areswe -> RE: Suggestion: Promoting In-Game Courtesy/Kindness (3/4/2012 21:16:44)

I really do get tired of the "almost" nonstop hating that goes on during battle
so YES MOAR FRIENSHIP!!

nico0las -> RE: Suggestion: Promoting In-Game Courtesy/Kindness (3/4/2012 21:37:07)

Yes please.

Stabilis -> RE: Suggestion: Promoting In-Game Courtesy/Kindness (3/4/2012 21:54:15)

Best of all with the auto-quotes you do not have to type in "gg" yourself.

Angels Holocaust -> RE: Suggestion: Promoting In-Game Courtesy/Kindness (3/4/2012 22:32:21)

I really like the name calling in this game, it shows character which this game desperately needs. Why are you guys so hell bent on getting rid of it? This is a competitive game, where winning means everything. If you can't take the heat then get out of the oven. What are you guys going to do when your playing a sport in real life and someone calls you a bad name? Call the judge or cry to your mom and dad. If you want to prove yourself then beat the troll, show him/her that they were wrong.

IsaiahtheMage -> RE: Suggestion: Promoting Courtesy in EpicDuel (3/5/2012 10:02:02)

@Angels Exactly.

Stabilis -> RE: Suggestion: Promoting Courtesy in EpicDuel (3/5/2012 10:37:58)

@Angels,

I know that you may not like the idea nor care (if you are 18 years of age or older), but since Epic Inventions sold out to Artix Entertainment, the atmosphere has to be maintained in such a way that the youngest of youths can interact with others in and outside of battle without feeling angry, depressed, or confused. This suggestion, as weird as it may sound, is simply a suggestion to make EpicDuel a tiny bit more friendly for everyone... but more so for kids.

Combine this suggestion with blocking player chat in battle, and you can have a fully developed battle system without trolling/harassive encounters. The respect in EpicDuel should improve.

Gurn -> RE: Suggestion: Promoting Courtesy in EpicDuel (3/5/2012 11:57:52)

^ @Void

Excellent post and idea! I feel uncomfortable recommending ED to younger players, whom I know would enjoy the game if not for the derogatory language that is prevalent during battles. If this idea would eventually be implemented, it would certainly make ED more family friendly and welcome a wider player base with greater retention. Void thanks very much for bringing attention to something that hopefully will be made a priority. [:)]

Lord Areswe -> RE: Suggestion: Promoting Courtesy in EpicDuel (3/5/2012 12:23:40)

@angels
I enjoy the competitive atmosphere but you have to admit sometimes people get out of control and become hellbent on making everyone's life miserable and while I am all for a little name calling I tire greatly of having slang inuendo and abrieviated swear words hurled everywhichway once most battles start
