Stabilis -> Tips for Chat When in Battle (3/18/2012 14:24:56)

You may laugh at me... but I have exactly 2 tips to combat spam/provocative chat from opponents in PvP:

  • Tell them to speak Chinese

  • Cover your screen with an object, sometimes I put my hand over their character [;)]

    What do you do to combat unwanted chat?

    there is

    Why you use UP weps? (i use Betas for caster mage)
    That aux is kind of outdated ( i was using Energy eggzooka)
    You got too much Tech ( WOOOW really, i didnt know that :S thx for telling me LOL )
    Let me wisggmsı(idk what they write there) - i mean wian (LOL) - win (they die before wrote, LOOOOOL)

    Silent blood -> RE: Tips for Chat When in Battle (3/18/2012 16:04:39)

    I'm a chinese and I find this a little offensive

    ScarletReaper -> RE: Tips for Chat When in Battle (3/18/2012 16:56:12)

    I talk crap back at them, and call them a noob after I destroy them. :D I'm only that way when they start it though. I am nice otherwise.

    Stabilis -> RE: Tips for Chat When in Battle (3/18/2012 17:42:09)

    @DVD,

    Sorry if I have ever offended you, I never intend to be souless. The reasoning + goal of that tip is since many players speak either English or Portuguese, any other language is accepted to throw someone off. I could ask the person to speak Dutch or Afrikaan but it really would not differ too much.

    I'll know not to say that to you if I meet you in battle and you begin to spam 'v'.

    And to be accurate I would be asking if they would speak Mandarin or Sinitic/Tibetan to me 'v'.

    Ez_Ease -> RE: Tips for Chat When in Battle (3/18/2012 17:42:24)

    When I first started to play this game about a year ago,
    I was going to stop, because of some of the abusive
    language and racist comments, while they cant spell it
    out in full you know what they mean. I prefer to ignor
    and that should be an option if others have to hide
    behind a key board to say some dumb things. I do use
    the report feature, but I think it can be miss used as well.

    friend18 -> RE: Tips for Chat When in Battle (3/18/2012 18:23:28)

    What I hate are the players with poor records who call you a noob, just because they had a decent partner.
    I also get annoyed when players complain about the fact that I have a Bio Borg. They complain about me being
    a varium user. Have I enhanced any of my items? No (well I just did a few minutes ago after reaching level 29).
    Am I using any varium weapons? No. It's really annoying. A chat block button would be nice. If they're jealous,
    why don't they work for 16+ hours and earn the money to purchase varium?

    I also get comments like f** and other stuff too. It's obvious what they're saying and I report them. But, it seems
    that I get those comments so often, that eventually, I get a notice that I can't report the player for calling me a *****
    and other stuff. I mean they're kids. If they're swearing they should just get banned to teach them a lesson.

    ScarletReaper -> RE: Tips for Chat When in Battle (3/18/2012 21:03:03)

    yeah, I feel ya there. Last night was fighting 2v2 and my partner died, lucky i'm a cyberhunter. :p And this level 28 free player calls me a noob and says he's going to destroy me. lol. His own partner told him to shut up and that I would pwn them both, and so I did. :D

    MrBones -> RE: Tips for Chat When in Battle (3/19/2012 8:00:40)

    The best thing to do is not to reply anything.

    I would also like to remind players that the player base is very young and inmature, some of them as young as 6-7-8 years old. Kids will be kids.

    Keep your cool ! All real pros do.

    rene196 -> RE: Tips for Chat When in Battle (3/19/2012 12:48:18)

    @above:Lol, Nice one[:)]

    The best thing to do would be to ignore them or just to say that you don't know english[:D]

    The worst thing to do would be falling to their level and start arguing with them, which will end with one of you calling each other a noob [8D]

    Basicball -> RE: Tips for Chat When in Battle (3/19/2012 13:12:08)

    This, all the way[:D]

    Fay Beeee -> RE: Tips for Chat When in Battle (3/19/2012 13:16:34)

    @Shadow Rouger
    Nice answer (I googled it) and I am sure you meant no offence.

    A button in battle would be good.

    Surely though, if the kids were outside the game using that language, the would be 'sorted out' (Hopfully)
    So I do not think it necessary to use it in game. Lots do not like bad language (I am one of them). I am not a kid. There are other ways to say things without the bad language.

    drekon -> RE: Tips for Chat When in Battle (3/20/2012 4:38:40)

    As a player who remembers clearly his days as a noob, I try to show compassion to lower level/non varium players and at least hold a short conversation with them. However, if players ask "f4f" or use offensive language then I just ignore the chat.

    What anoys me is when I try a new and exciting build,

    You know something orignal and requires strategy and then suddenly people who use the EXACT same COPY build start accusing me of being dum and that my build suks e.e

    Infact this will explain it.....

    ^ That image was amusing. :) I've felt that way many times. Thankfully, my computer desk is too heavy to topple over.

    drinde -> RE: Tips for Chat When in Battle (3/20/2012 9:44:42)

    @Remorse

    The use of rage comics to release one's wrath is proven once more. ;D

    On topic:

    Don't you get annoyed when you kill your opponent without ending your convo?

    SouL Prisoner -> RE: Tips for Chat When in Battle (3/20/2012 10:15:27)

    Best way is to ignore them, coz if u anser back , then LOL its over ...u go ...Beep...beep.. then he go....... finally both of "YOU" are pissed off with each other. Most of them even report for this /Facepalm , so its better juzz "Ignore" *Until u know him LOl *

    white out727 -> RE: Tips for Chat When in Battle (3/20/2012 10:57:41)

    i just tell thoes ppl to grow up then i proceed to kill them :)

    warfarfick -> RE: Tips for Chat When in Battle (3/21/2012 5:55:08)

    Uncheck Chat Log if you don't wanna see the whole conversation but the best thing to do is simply ignore them! You don't need to be affected with what they say unless it's true.

    Stabilis -> RE: Tips for Chat When in Battle (3/21/2012 7:58:08)

    @warfarfick and others use the "ignore" tactic,

    Sure, avoiding to look at their character means that you do not affirm to what they say, but even ignoring has it's limits. What if this person acts this way to all other players including 10 year olds? Do you just pretend not to kmow them? I would ask if they would speak more friendly else few people will admire them. If they ever admit to promise to speak that way again in the future, I am left with no choice but to report them. If you do not discover what the source of the stigma for this is, the hate will only prosper.
