@void If you make it think, then it can and probably will grow smarter and attempt rebellion. Generally stuff that thinks freely can learn pretty well. Also, what's so different about telling it stats the enemy has and giving it code to do certain things in certain conditions. I'm pretty sure it has code for telling it which damage type to focus on more, skill effects and cost(although none use any EP drains that I know of so that would be pointless). I know for a fact that using Smoke, Malf or FC generally can cause an NPC to shield or having high strength.

Rebellion being self-programming. :/

If a program can program, then that would be possible, but very complex. To accomplish that, very defined writing procedures that use known functions, operators, exception handling, syntax parsing, logic apprehension and editing... even selective statements inside of itself to make that happen. But still, thousands of lines of code to hold this could make it possible.

EpicDuel AI does not know % rates yet though, which is something I mentioned on the previous page. When Malfunctioned, NPCs do not know any better to avoid using a gun because of deflections, same for being blocked when under Smokescreen. The AI of this game also does not compare the reliability of melee to ranged, by this I mean that a Strike could hit 5 damage, but a gun could always hit 3, so including rate:damage ratio reading and determining from that can increase their damage in total.

AIs follow set attacks.

For instance, against Valery, (and) it goes like dis (Maroon 5)

Gun
Bunker/Stun Grenade
Multi-Shot
Gun
Strike
(Dead by now)

EVERY SINGLE TIME. Gets really easy to predict. But soon, the NPCs will be...harder. I fear that rise of machine.

Alpha/Beta are Phase specials, reasonable i think.


O O OI me want NPC revamp :D

Add more phrases, and perhaps even communication between NPC and player

Also new abilities and looks!

@zeoth It's hardly any different from a CH or TLM with a single type armor. About 1-2 points in defense/resistance really.

@zeoth,

One of our balance issues is that we give classes without passive hp/ep restoration extra power on some of their skills, and some combinations can be found exploited. Such as your SS + BB combo mentioned, or Fireball + Berz is another good example! Although Blood Mage WAS nerfed for the... literally power synergy that went well with Bloodlust. Since Mercenary has average passive skills, we would be less likely to deal with the class UNLESS there is strong supporting evidence from BT.

even smarter NPC's. You know what that means and if you don't let me tell you the warning titan gave out when they gave the NPC's the ability to talk.

If an NPC asks for your password there is nothing the staff can do because they have developed into sentient beings.

My way is different then Titan's but it is the same meaning and I hope to go digging in the DN's and find that quote later today

You all thought I was crazy but even Titan warned about the NPCs becoming sentient. Don't whine to me when they start rewriting their own code and buffing themselves to adapt because you wanted true artificial intelligence rather than more conditional coding.

we definitely need improved AI. come on guys. also I think the higher level NPCs should have 2 versions, one for normal users and one for advanced.
right now, either the NPC is too easy for variums but beatable for non-vars, or too hard for non-vars and a decent challenge for variums. if we are gonna
have 2 tiers of players then we really need 2 tiers of NPCs. it is definitely an issue IMO. having 2 tiers really benefits the non-vars to be honest, the vars
can still fight the easier version if they want to, or the harder one if they actually want the acclaim of beating them, say with a specific build or partner.

On images for Veteran weapons it says that they are seasonal rares, could a staff member confirm if that is a bug (just like on Delta knight armor) or are they really seasonal rares?

is the Delta knight armor ultra rare? It says so in the package, but in game it's seasonal. I need some clarification.

The ingame tag will be adjusted in the next update to "Ultra Rare", the same as Founder armor!
