This doesn't fit Balance Discussion Thread although it may seem to be a balance thread but it isn't. It's a discussions which I'd like to get views on and perhaps get some views from the Devs themselves as well. As we may know, balance in ED may not be the best but Team tries. We have new Mods and Testers which are actual players and have more experience from the game so we can hope for better results in the long run but it doesn't mean they will always be better, or as Cindy has described, "observer bias (ie the propensity to skew results due to the observer's cognitive bias)"! We, the community, provide the feedback about the balance changes back to the Devs which also have Balance Tracker and some of their own experience from the game but after reading through past Balance Threads and current, very little ideas are actually done or considered yet we're supposed to have a say on it and provide feedback but result ends up.. opposite at times. What if Balance Team gave us scenarios of possible changes which would both be balanced but perhaps different skill set-up, and they'd give their view on it, ask us for our view on it and hold a poll where we could vote which change should go through. Of course, one with highest amount of votes will be chosen but if both are balanced then it's all about personal choice. The scenarios wouldn't have to be given week prior to the release or something but perhaps even weeks! They'd at least know what we want to be changed and set it out over their schedule. ED is a PvP game and perfect balance of course never be achieved but with very small amount of feedback being used when making the changes, current "system" ain't working too well. What would you players say if that was to be done? And how about you Devs/Balance Team?

To synopsize, a poll where we vote on what changes are made? Sounds good, but people might be biased towards their class.

Yes. We're given x amount of scenarios from the Team on changes we want to see. Both are fairly balanced and similar in power but different combinations perhaps. And this would solve the problem of making choices that 'may anger majority of players who use X class and therefore taking Y skill out isn't good idea'. :) To add to first post: We could put warnings in-game about such a poll being held and spread on social websites which are used by much bigger amount of players than Forum users.

I want it back too, but the forum is a small group and the children in all honesty have underdeveloped minds to cope with decisions that could be detrimental to EpicDuel. I would say that polling is good for features, and for a larger staff.

I like the idea of a poll being made for difficult issues, like the much debated Cyber Hunter - Plasma Armour - EMP debate but not sure we need regular changes putting to a poll, at least not to a schedule. well, I can't see them going for it that way anyway. also I don't think the poll should be final, I think it should be used more as a guideline to see what the general populace chose. finally, It would be far more "conclusive" if all players could vote, like a feature ingame that allows a one time vote on whatever the question is. you could even have a special NPC, and work the poll as a kind of mission.

There is less than 15 reguler forum posters here, most of them kids whininng and complaining. I don't see how a poll here would reflect the community.

Pivotal suggested on Twitter about having in-game votes for certain class, so if TMs are to be changed then TMs can just vote and there'd be mention that we're also discussing on Forum about changes, bla bla bla. It isn't full idea which I've put here, I just wanted to see people's opinions and perhaps Devs'. :) @below My bad, I gotta word it out correctly next time. Text in italics is my addition, sorry. :P

I just suggested the in-game poll, it was you who suggested making it class specific for class specific changes. I am not sure letting Cybers vote on their own future is any fairer than letting other classes vote on their future. either way you are gonna get a lot of vote bias. unfortunately the whole idea got shot down by Lycus [quote below] quote: I don't recommend launching a petition on a subject like this, because it wouldn't take into consideration those who want Plasma Armour, and it also encourages the wrong kind of thing throughout the ED community. I think that we should expand the Balance Team into a large council with people like Ashari still having the top ranking. In these discussions the council would be discussing, arguing, and finally voting on the best case. It would be handed to Ashari and she would give the passing vote as to whether or not she would think it feasible. Thoughts?

Completely supported. I have always held to the belief that we the players should be consulted before any massive change, whether it be balance, price revamp, or new feature.

Not support. This forums is not so many players. And posers here just make own class better. Only few pros are come here like goony, comical, angels, midnight, rablefroth and the game.

Most of those players rarely if ever use this forum, and I'm not even sure which Midnight you are referring to. Even if some players did place themselves before the community, enough of the free minded players would vote to make the general opinion clear.

^Really? I doubt many here would consider him even remotely close to pro- I assumed he was referring to a different player with a similar name.

@Whirl: I got around 15k wins and I don't considered myself a professional, people like Fay Beee, ComicalBiker, BadWitch, Z O Y, Lazy Justice(Wiseman), Ganondorth and many others, but how to forget the so-known non-varium JariTheMighty which is a player I admire a lot. Someone who brags like him shouldn't even be considered as a good player.

My time for suggestions is done here. I am handing over the reins to the more than competent new moderators, hoping that their maturity will help with the proper decision making process. I also ask that you give the new mods time to settle in. It won't be easy for any of them trying to learn new procedures etc. Given time I hope to look at this forum and see some pleasant changes. bragging doesn't make a player bad btw, their are millions of competitors who brag outrageously :) I now also agree that a POLLING system would lead to players demanding a poll for every feature or change they don't agree with. suppose we are just stuck with the system we have.
