One of my friends, peacemakerlw, has an AQ and an AQW account. the thing is, due to him not fully understanding the way to set up his master account, his master account name is identical to his e-mail address.

Now, that aside, if he were to register here in the forums, (he tried a week or so ago,) and he said that he needed to enter his portal name in to register.

Would said portal name of his, (and thus his e-mail name) be displayed as his forum name, or could he choose another one for the forum, like mine's different to my forum name of "sock moglinfriend"?

Your friend doesn't have to worry about his master account username or his email being revealed. When he registers for the forum, he'll be allowed to choose a forum username as his display name.

Master Account usernames are meant to be kept private for account security, so we don't have it shown publicly anywhere.
