But a Lie

As the ground falls away beneath my feet,
I slip into an eternal sleep,
Dreaming of her laying by my side,
Even though that but a lie.

As the sky soars above my reach,
I slip into an eternal sleep,
Dreaming of her beneath a moonlit sky,
Even though that's but a lie.

As my life escapes beyond my keep,
I slip, once again, into an eternal sleep,
Dreaming of, you and I,
This time though, its not a lie.

Turning Skies

Leaves of gold, skies of blue,
Lead us to a day of new,
Give us death and suns of sight,
Fall as one, we’ll leave this light,
Take away this lasting life and part the way,
For eternal night.

Leaves of gold, skies of black,
Tighten the rope without slack,
Bring us hope and moons of sorrow,
Leave as one to a new tomorrow,
Take away this lasting life and part the way,
For freedom borrowed.

Leaves of gold, skies of red,
Silence the thoughts within my head,
Steal our peace and scars of pain,
Together as one with nothing to gain,
Take away this lasting life and part the way,
For bleeding rain.

Roses of Poison

Lost in lies yet again,
The passion still remains.
It glows through the aeons,
Only to end in misery,
And pain.

From the pain that sprouts inside,
The tears begin to fall.
Casting a shadow in the storm,
That calls upon rage,
And hate.

Out of the hate grows a vow,
To strike back at their heart.
Carrying death on fluttering wings,
That fabricates anger,
And doubt.

Twisting off from the doubt,
Are the whisperings of mistrust.
That form roses of poison,
Like blossoming pedals,
Of lust.

Paradox

There is a Paradox,
And it lies Within,
Confusing, Revealing,
Freeing, and trapping,
My thoughts and feelings.

There is a Paradox,
And it has the power,
To cloud my judgment,
Poison my thoughts,
And Clear the fog.

There is a Paradox,
That allows me,
To live within my self,
Be one with my self,
And not know myself.

There is a Paradox,
That has the ability to,
Protect me, free me,
Leave me vulnerable, entrap me,
Give me hope and crush my dreams,

There is a Paradox,
That lies within,
And its time to accept it,
And perhaps,
Become part of it.

Nightmare NOTE- I wrote this one back in high school when my best friend/gf said she wanted to kill herself.

She looks at me,
Tears in her eyes,
Her body is trembling.

She tells me that she's depressed,
And that she's been thinking,
That her life is hell and soon it will be ending.

I pull her close,
My eyes well up,
And my voice is lacking.

For she is the one,
I'd jump out of a plane,
Into shark infested waters,
Climb a mountain, Stop a fire,
Face an army, Die,
In order to save.

Her body trembles,
With each sob,
And Pain fills her eyes.

But all I see is Despair,
Misery, Pain, and Death,
Like Complete darkness on her,
With the candle burning out.

I wrap my arms around her,
Like a fortress wall,
That's protecting something precious.

And fear washes upon me,
Like an oncoming war,
With my troops not prepared for battle,
And even before the war begins,
I've lost all hope.

Like a dry leaf,
Caught in the wind,
She drifts away,
And I am left sitting,
Alone and Cold,
Just like in my nightmare.

Truth

Why do you judge and criticize
Who I am and how hard I try?
Soon your gunna realize
There's a truth down deep inside
And it will show
Through your soul.

This truth could break you
Or set you free,
It could shake the world
And its societies to the core
It destroys cities
And builds bridges.

Its not a plea that I'm singin
But this truth will keep on ringin
Throughout the ears of generations to come
And they will say
'Damn he was right'

This truth could unit the world and its people
And cause them to wander,
Stray, and turn away
From hatred and discrimination

You call this civilization
If so, start walkin in another direction
Its time to shout out
And let the truth be heard

Its time to embrace mortality
Accept reality and factuality
And learn that what you give
Is worth more then what you take

And when someone takes happiness
Security, dreams, and shatters your peace
You fight back,
Not with fists but with words,

If the pen is mightier then the sword
Then what about the spoken word?

Its time to come face to face,
With the lies you've been taught,
And the voices that say 'your nothing' and 'No one Cares'
are true.
Unless you know yourself enough to say,
' you'

The truth is,
You and me,
We have one thing in common,
We have a voice,
And its about time we use it.

This Cage of Mine

Am I being used,
Or are these thoughts real?
I can no longer tell,
What it is I feel.

Love, happiness, joy,
Emotions no longer felt,
Only regret remains,
As my sanity starts to melt.

Slowly i freeze over,
A glacier of doubt.
As sorrow replaces regret,
I just want to shout.

Hate, rage, and pain too,
Only come to mind,
The longer I spend,
In this cage of mine.
