A New Way To Make Factions More Competitive and Less Boring:
My idea is to make factions more fun and change the way how factions are ranked. So basically my idea is to rank factions with the most "Faction Points". To earn "Faction Points" factions must win faction wars, capture flags and win the daily faction solo or team leaderboards.

FACTION WAR:
Factions could go to an area to challenge factions to a faction war
The faction war works like this,, The factions needs 3 players, a founder or an officer must be there, to start a faction war.
The battle would look like http://tinypic.com/r/fd566o/6 (It could look better lol) With a triple screen we can see whats going on with our teammates battles, There could also be a way to chat with your teammates to discuss what to do.
The faction with the most wins, wins the faction war and earn +5 faction points and the loser gets none.

FLAGS:
Flags still work the same and gives the faction that holds it +1 faction points every 5 hours.

Daily Faction Solo or Team Battle Leaderboards:
Factions that win the leaderboards earn +25 faction points.

*Cough.* This is almost identical to the current faction system. You just replaced the word "score" with the words "faction points." Therefor: not supported.

However, the rest of your ideas look good. I support all of them.

We kind of have your idea of faction points.

My ideas:
Allow factions to be created by credits alone. (more factions)
Smaller faction sizes. So all competitive players will be spread out instead of all in 2 or 3 good factions.
Achievements for winning daily team or solo. (incentive)
Increase taxes (dramatically) on flags, introduce taxes to 2nd and 3rd place with a small amount of influence. This gives new factions a fighting chance and gives the top factions a challenge.
Have a 'head officer" position that can: delete members, promote members, recruit members, and demote members. This will allow factions to stay competitive if their leader is away for a short time.
Double influence for 2v2 and juggernaut battles.
Increase the amount of influence the top factions on the losing side receives. First would lose 33% of their influence instead of 25%.
Factions that weren't on the board lose no influence.
Re-add the war bar.
Achievements for getting the most 2v2 or 1v1 wins in the day in just your faction. Adds competition within the faction. Make it worth 250 rating points.
Loyalty rewards. If you stay active in a faction for a certain amount of days/weeks/months you get a good sum of credits. By active I mean be on at least once every few days.
Rewards for getting your faction to a certain level. Possibly special weapons that can't be bought in stores.

Factions that weren't on the board lose no influence. Old, completely dead factions were the main reason that legion used to have so much more influence than exile. Not supported.

I agree with what he said. Especially the faction only armor and weapons. One of my favorite things about world of warcraft was that very thing. They have rewards for each faction level. [8D]
