Chosen 0ne -> Would A Mega Item be cool??? (5/31/2012 16:32:35)

Most games have all sorts of different items, some of which, cost a lot and players have to work hard to get.

For example; I believe aq has an item thats like 10 million gold.

I would like for an item that costs 100k - 500k credits.

It would stay in-game forever, it wouldnt be dreadfully overpowered. but hey; its not gonna be weak. Lol.

I like the idea of having an item you have to really work at getting. Who's with me?

King Helios -> RE: Would A Mega Item be cool??? (5/31/2012 16:34:50)

More like 65-70K.

Supported.

Chosen 0ne -> RE: Would A Mega Item be cool??? (5/31/2012 16:39:58)

Maybe their could be several items like this, per say a set.

The gun would be about 50k to 70k

Aux would be 65k to 80k

Mutating weapon would be 100k to 150k

And the armor would make you tall like Marauder Hulk and cost 200k - 500k.

These would have to be on par with varium items of course. To get the whole set; it would probably take the average person 2 or 3 years.

Those that have it; are pretty dang cool. Lol.

Another prime example is aqw's dark side thing, with the legion tokens, games that have these weapons imo, are pretty cool.

rej -> RE: Would A Mega Item be cool??? (5/31/2012 16:45:14)

Actually, the most expensive item in AQ costs little more than 3,000,000. It's a high level mastercraft armor I believe.

No supported. Having a mega item that will not go rare would eliminate the purpose of seasonal rare items for anyone with more than 10,000 wins. Maybe an extremely valuable achievement, but never a weapon/armor.

Mr. Black OP -> RE: Would A Mega Item be cool??? (5/31/2012 17:33:41)

Why should rares be more powerful than non rares?
With my weapons I'm as rare as I like my steak and I would like some competition.

I like this idea.
Maybe have a long mission line to open the shop up and have it be a limited rare.

BurningFlames -> RE: Would A Mega Item be cool??? (5/31/2012 17:35:23)

250k Item would be nice but something that doesn't affect the game at all like an Aura Item, something that would give you cool things like a "Halo" "Wings" maybe even a cool glow or nice lighting around your character! Just to have something to spend some cash on XD! I Love this idea!

Chosen 0ne -> RE: Would A Mega Item be cool??? (5/31/2012 17:38:13)

I like NightAngels idea better than mine almost, angel wings, or a glow. Lol, be so dang cool.

BurningFlames -> RE: Would A Mega Item be cool??? (5/31/2012 17:39:02)

Yeah but nothing for varium, I feel like this is something you should earn by playing a lot so 250k-300k or so?

Chosen 0ne -> RE: Would A Mega Item be cool??? (5/31/2012 17:48:21)

Exactly. ^^

Mr. Black OP -> RE: Would A Mega Item be cool??? (5/31/2012 17:49:29)

But couldn't you buy like 10 10k packs of varium and use the 140k credits for that? 280k if you use your keys for credits.

Chosen 0ne -> RE: Would A Mega Item be cool??? (5/31/2012 17:52:06)

I have an idea! Im gonna waste 500 dollars for an item. I dont think people will do that black op. And if they do, then they deserve to get it.

Mr. Black OP -> RE: Would A Mega Item be cool??? (5/31/2012 17:53:39)

^
True.
Well a lot of people have already spent hundreds of dollars on this game so you could say they got from buying the game.

Chosen 0ne -> RE: Would A Mega Item be cool??? (5/31/2012 17:55:21)

Yeah but they havnt spent hundreds of dollars for 1 item lol.

Mr. Black OP -> RE: Would A Mega Item be cool??? (5/31/2012 17:56:57)

^
Not yet, but we have spent $20+ so far for one item lol.

4, 000 varium? I think 3, 000 varium for an item with 100% enhancements sounds more reasonable. I say this because I do not remember spending 4, 000 varium on any item ever.

Mr. Black OP -> RE: Would A Mega Item be cool??? (5/31/2012 18:16:08)

Fully enhance delta armor, if you buy 2 5ks as opposed to a 10k it costs $25.37. So the cheapest possible scenario is under $20.

Maybe make it token only?

veneeria -> RE: Would A Mega Item be cool??? (5/31/2012 18:19:23)

I like this idea. Makes the game less repetitive. Mastercraft items are always cool, has long there is no "varium" version. Though some epic battle token stuff would be cool too :D

One Winged Angel1357 -> RE: Would A Mega Item be cool??? (5/31/2012 18:43:00)

Uber high credit value for Angel wings. Well I would say yes but there is a key word in Night Angels idea and that is WINGS because as we all know I only have one wing.

Ok now to be serious, because I currently have six wings so two more wont hurt, I would love for a style item for an incredible amount of credits because it shows you take names.

Stabilis -> RE: Would A Mega Item be cool??? (5/31/2012 18:45:45)

Your dues may add up to $25 or $50 after buying promotions, but the items themselves have no costs when bought via a promotion. So for the Delta Knight for example, the only payment that you could make on it is enhancements, and 10 slots is less than 2, 000 varium. 2, 000 varium is 20% of a 10, 000 varium package, and 10, 000 varium packages costing grossly $50 American/Canadian. So 20% of $50 is no more than $10.

Non-promotional items are the most expensive when bought via in-game and also enhanced. The most expensive item that I can think of right now is the Frost Slayer that could be purchased in-game for 1395 varium and enhance for up to 1700 varium. That totals at exactly 3095 varium, at that is equivalent to grossly $15-16. That is the most that you pay for in EpicDuel on one item.

This game is reasonably inexpensive for what varium is worth, but the small things here and there like enhancements or class changes pile on fast.

Chosen 0ne -> RE: Would A Mega Item be cool??? (5/31/2012 18:59:38)

So it now becomes clear that a high cost style item would be legit. Lol.

ND Mallet -> RE: Would A Mega Item be cool??? (5/31/2012 19:35:10)

The only problem I see with MasterCraft items in ED would be that I'm pretty sure the balance team wants diversity in builds/equipment rather than have everyone and thing the same. Plus what would be the point of releasing non-MC items since they won't be as good as MC items anyways? I understand it's to help out the players who can't afford the MC yet but they would just be a stepping stone and nothing else. This would only benefit a select few players already unless the gear was as good as what's already released and then it would be pointless anyways to buy it.

Lord Nub -> RE: Would A Mega Item be cool??? (5/31/2012 19:45:45)

How long until this "Mega Item" is replace by another mega item?

Love the idea and have always wanted it so that there would be more for players to work toward but I can see many players saving up for said mega item just to have it replaced with another.

Perhaps if they announced a certain date and notified the players that there would be a new mega item annually or something so that the players can make informed decisions before purchasing instead of finally saving up, purchasing the item that took 3 months to acquire the credits needed, and then having it replaced the next week with something with that extra damage or few stat points that make an incredible difference.

Obviously there are always bugs and such with releases and the whole not knowing when something will be released because of real life schedules but I believe announcing a year or 6 months gives more than enough time for the players and developers both to prepare themselves.

@ below,

Also good but 1v1 needs to differentiate heavily from 2v2 and Juggernaut.

Renegade Reaper -> RE: Would A Mega Item be cool??? (5/31/2012 19:49:42)

what about a shop that opens up different items based on your total wins?

Chosen 0ne -> RE: Would A Mega Item be cool??? (5/31/2012 22:39:28)

Lots of cool ideas here.

nico0las -> RE: Would A Mega Item be cool??? (6/1/2012 13:36:08)

Once everyone is overpowered, no one is.

No point in making such a powerful weapon if it'll only be
that powerful for about a week until everyone buys it.
