fightR -> Going for the Gold (6/8/2012 23:21:30)

This is a thread in which I wanna talk about a couple things when it comes to trying to get first place on the Leaderboard

Why do you wanna get to the top of the Leaderboards? Bragging rights? to get the Achievement or what else?

How do you prepare for spending most of the day playing ED in order to try to get first place? Lots of sleep the day before? Junk food and surgery soda?

How many tries did it take you till you finally got to 1st on the Leaderboard? Did it take you multiple times? Or did you get lucky and get it on your first try?

Do you Believe their should be smaller Achievements for getting 2nd or 3rd place? Or rather have it only be an achievement for first place?

What advice would you give to those who are trying to to get to 1st place on the Leaderboards?

Feel free to answer and even put in your own questions for people to answer.

Im gonna say my own. I feel the reason that it is so unbalanced is that it is only based on the amount of wins u gain and ignores the percentage. I respect someone with 100% win streak with 250 wins then I would someone with a 78% streak with 1000 wins. Who is better? The 100%. Yet who gets the reward? The 78%.

See my drift there?

^That right there is an example of Quality vs. Quantity. However, the leaderboards are based on pure quantity. There COULD be a leaderboard based on quality. I don't think they'll make one though.

It's been 2 years and a half since this game came out and our win percentages still don't do anything. That's another reason as to why factions have been such a miserable fail from the beginning. All you have to do is dump 100 points into strength and your pretty much going to get a lot of wins. I remember being a strength noob at the beginning of this game and I hated it. It takes no skill whatsoever. It's pretty much auto pilot. Smoke, strike, strike, massacre, and gun.

Wind -> RE: Going for the Gold (6/9/2012 2:38:39)

@Angels

I know right, and now the game is run on Bounty hunters still using smoke, strike and level 7 massacre.
What I don't like is that people who have the tiniest amount of Support start before you, therefore they lower your dex first which isn't correct.

I've seen players with only 22 support and I have 60+ support and I still don't start. Strength really ruins the game, when it came to strength BH's, BM's and Mercenary's we need tactics now.
Even at the beginning TLM's were based on Strength until it was nerfed.

My opinion strength need's another lowering in stat progression.

On Topic: Well it did take my multiple attempts to finally get to the top of the daily leader boards. I remember, trying many days spending countless hours playing 1vs1, only to have been beaten at the end. I eventually got my Daily Solo achievement after many about 5 attempts. I got my Juggernaut achievement after 3 hard attempts, which pushed me to the edge (which really made me feel like quitting).

As for 2vs2, I've tried about two times to go for the achievement, but I don't have the patience, when it comes to me having an unfair partner against two level 34 varium players.

Digital X -> RE: Going for the Gold (6/9/2012 3:38:16)

The main reason being why i would like to make a top spot on the LB's is self achievement plus a large feeling of success as it does take quite a high level of dedication to reach the tops. The 1v1/2v2 LB's are amongst the hardest to achieve, whilst fame is quite hard, but still within a managable grasp if you can get a lot throughout the day and are willing to persue such. Due to work though both of these are quite diffocult for me to reach.

Lord Nub -> RE: Going for the Gold (6/9/2012 12:30:11)

I still feel going for the gold is unfair to many players. Some players are fortunate to wake up a few hours early, right on time, or whatever the case may be, while for other players in other time zones or schedules, they have a more difficult time getting set up for the event.

If the clock were to be offset and reset every 23 hours, 25 hours, or anything but 24 hours, it would make it a fair competition for all.

Clavier -> RE: Going for the Gold (6/9/2012 22:30:32)

I would suggest getting enough sleep. I played for like 18 hrs and got the cheevo, the first try :D

Angels Holocaust -> RE: Going for the Gold (6/9/2012 23:08:53)

I had to play 1 vs 1 for 2 days because the clocks got messed up in this game.

fightR -> RE: Going for the Gold (6/9/2012 23:58:31)

@angels Wow, that must of been really hard. How did you do it? haha

friend18 -> RE: Going for the Gold (6/10/2012 1:16:07)

I go for the achievements because it actually shows up on your profile. I also try to maintain a high win ratio because that ACTUALLY shows how good you are.

How do you prepare for spending most of the day playing ED in order to try to get first place? Lots of sleep the day before? Junk food and surgery soda? I take a two hour nap around 9 PM, then get up an hour before reset. After that, its all in the microwave pizzas.

How many tries did it take you till you finally got to 1st on the Leaderboard? Did it take you multiple times? Or did you get lucky and get it on your first try? First time on the 1v1 board, Xendran beat me. I won by over 200 wins second time. I also won 2v2/2v1 champ on my first try.

Do you Believe their should be smaller Achievements for getting 2nd or 3rd place? Or rather have it only be an achievement for first place? I'm all for 2nd and 3rd place achievements.

What advice would you give to those who are trying to to get to 1st place on the Leaderboards? Don't. It ruins your eyes. I went from 20/19 to 20/21 in both eyes from too long on the computer in just two years.
