Good question VanHellsin, and a very fundamental one at that.

You see, a week back, we had a poll wherein participated different story genres. The poll was to decide which genre would get the highest preference by authors here should there be a face-off. As it happens, Medieval Fantasy won by a large margin and here we are!

So basically, the thing is to write up your own story in the Medieval Fantasy genre(the very same genre which Lord of The Rings was written in). It can be your own universe, mythos, Original Characters and the like.

So... thats pretty much what this face-off represents.

A face-off is also like a head to head competition. You write a story that you can use to go up against others. A way to incite a little edge into L&L.

My story should be up tomorrow by earliest or the day after.

I have been playing with some concepts and now am ready to type them out.

Its a good thing that I don't have any other burdensome commitments other than keeping my L&L story up to date.

That...was big, for my standards.

@Eukara, sorry, my story encompasses 8 pages with the last short paragraph being the only trespasser. Hope that is allowed.
Also, I forgot to embolden my main title. Sorry.

In any case, this is the first chapter of my story. I have put a lot of effort into it with my effort spanning over a good four days. Hope you guys read it and like it.
Do let me know here if you have thoughts about it.

Well, it's not much of a face-off with only one person. :P Not my best work, but I guess that's what I get for trying to pull off a last-minute entry on zero sleep, lol. Either way, I worked hard on this. I hope it shows and good luck to everyone who enters.
