A suggestion for the AQ 'Paedia (Full Version)

Given the backlog of entries needing posting, would it be at all feasible for the AQ 'Paedia to adopt a system similar to the DF 'Paedia and allow a select group of users to post entries in their respective sections? It would greatly reduce the workload of the 'Paedia AKs. Although, I'm not sure how this would affect the addition of appendices to entries, as those often get posted in Info. Subs awhile after. If such a system were adopted, the appendices could be posted direct-to-entry, or would this complicate the 'Paedia beyond convenience and outweigh whatever benefits may be gained?

I only speak for myself when I say this, but I don't think that's a good idea. The encyclopedia AKs hold their positions because they are qualified in what they do and because they exhibit behavior that is worthy of displaying and showcasing with a title. If they were to select an additional group of users to perform these tasks, they would simply offer them a post as an encyclopedia AK instead of creating almost this middle-management tier that doesn't serve much purpose and isn't much different from the actual encyclopedia AK group to begin with.

I understand, but that wasn't my reason for proposing this. I put forward the suggestion because the AKs have quite a cumbersome task as it is and because the way in which the DF 'Paedia is run is quite smooth and without any problems. However, I suppose that's not a good comparison given that the numbers for DF equipment and monsters aren't released and information is limited to what is available. I didn't mean for this to become an additional layer of bureaucracy, pardon me if it seemed so as that was not my intention.

Th AQ and DF pedia function very differently so you're right it's not a good comparison.

There are a lot of things that occur behind the scenes that only the AKs have access to. Having a group of people that have access to post entries isn't going to work because they simply won't have all the information required. Whereas the AKs do. There is also the issue that if a group was made there is also the possibility of errors on their parts which the AKs will then have to correct, which just means more work the AKs have to look over. Rather than doing it themselves and knowing it's correct the AKs will then on top of their duties have to check the entries of others for errors.

Ah yes, I didn't consider the perplexity of the coordination of the AQ 'Paedia and given the occasional propensity to errors, it would indeed create more trouble than what it's worth. Thanks very much for the input everyone! :)
