So, as you all know, the Legion side was rewarded with an achievement called "vault breaker" which Exile players have no opportunity to get. This, in my opinion, is unfair, since it effectively punishes exile players. As you also know, you are required to "swear allegiance" when you want to fight in the war. Swearing allegiance prevents you from switching sides, effectively trapping all Exile players on the losing side and preventing them from receiving the achievement. That brings me to my suggestion.

Players should have the opportunity to "betray" their alignment by paying either 500 varium or 20,000 credits. Upon doing this, they will automatically be kicked from whatever faction they are in, and have the opportunity to either rejoin their alignment, or switch to the opposite alignment. (This would obviously generate a fair amount of revenue, since there are many Exile players that no longer wish to fight for a worthless cause.)

Feel free to criticize and suggest improvements, or agree with the idea.

You're only making this because you're angry you can't get this said Achievement, I don't support this idea.
No.
The Developers promised the winning side of each Stage a special Achievement, which just because Legion won Stage I, you all complain and make suggestions.
Get over it please, this is not a good idea, it makes people stick with a side. Everyone would jump to Legion because they won Stage I. Deal with, and try harder during Stage II. 'Nuff said

And that is the reason why people not are allowed to switch alignment :) People was able to change alignment in the last war and therefor received more achievements then those who actually take part of the war and play it seriously and want their alignment to win. Seeing the last posts made on the EpicDuel forum it seems like Exile dont care for this at all, and only want to receive benefits...

Anyhow, I could agree and like the idea of a possiblity to "betray" a alignment, but I do not think that a Exile player can switch alignment at the last day of a... "part" of a war, to receive a achievement. I think we can let them to change alignment if thats what they wish, but they should still not get the achievement.

Also, from your idea of betraying alignments. I think it should be like this all the time in EpicDuel. Factions needs to be a more serious part in EpicDuel and I do not like when people are able to switch faction each and every day *stares at faction jumpers*. Therefor I think that players who have once joined a Exile faction, have to pay a price to join a Legion faction. It should be free to switch factions in the same alignment though. And the same story for Legion players, ofcourse.

It would work a little like the Evil/Good rep's on AQW :)

Wut?
There were 3 cheevos in the last war. Bombadier (Not sure spelling), Rank cheevo and Legion Bane/Krampus Slayer. Both sides and an opportunity for Rank and Bombadier cheevo and you could only get 1 of either Legion's Bane or Krampus slayer...

ansh0 -> RE: Switching Alignments (7/7/2012 16:03:54)

Supported but make it 100,000 VARIUM.

Not supported if it's any cheaper than that.

King Helios -> RE: Switching Alignments (7/7/2012 16:07:32)

^That's $500. Might as well not add it.

At first players could get both Legion Bane/Krampus Slayer achievement, they just had to switch to a faction in the other alignment. After some discussions it ended up that Legion Bane and Krampus Slayer replaced each other. This time they restricted the faction switching instead of having to deal with these issues afterhand.

Death Jr -> RE: Switching Alignments (7/7/2012 16:28:55)

@ DD

There r people willing to pay that much to be on the winning side.

frosty123 -> RE: Switching Alignments (7/9/2012 1:48:38)

I support the idea of betraying but if they betray they get the traitor achievemnt. It gives -5000000. And instead of the rank ( Ya know emperor or somthing) it said s Traitor to the (enter Alignment here) Also when you Traitor Status you cant join a faction again. It also costs 500000 Credits and 100000 Varium.

I totally agree with Guppy but i want that betraying idea and my adjustments to it.

Demon Emperor -> RE: Switching Alignments (7/10/2012 20:09:29)

^ Thats kind of insane you know... Maybe as well keep it the way it is where you can't switch? It would just make it easier for everyone.

frosty123 -> RE: Switching Alignments (7/13/2012 22:58:43)

Nope thats entirely reasonable. Those traitors wanna switch to get an achievemnt, give them an achievement while they switch

Whirlwindstorm2 -> RE: Switching Alignments (7/14/2012 2:35:37)

Honestly, I think you are making a bit too big of a fuss over a cheevo. While it's true, having achievements would always be a welcome sight, you can't even wait for this war to be over? Patience is a virtue, and you'll get your blue star that you wanted so badly sooner or later.
