Blocking has became a major problem in EpicDuel. Many battles are won for the under-skilled player. Those battle are now kinda who is more lucky, not based on his experience and skills.


What do you think?

Blocks were ( because like you said , it was luck-based , and also i said "were" due to the Block Chance being lowered ) just fine back then , and i don't see any prob with it . Besides , there's more to this game that Smoke/Malf-Mass , and maybe you had low DEX when your were Smoked or just plainly have low DEX .

Blocks have been nerfed 4 times. No need for the 5th because either way, there will be more posts even when it's nerfed.

I have 29-35+5 Defense, I dont think thats low.

So why do find blocks as a problem? Maybe they were just super lucky .

I find blocks to be quite a problem
Especially when they have shadow arts, they block every 2nd and sometimes 3rd attack
They should move shadow arts down to .5% increase per skill point
Blocking has lost me probably about 100 battles (1300 total) and won me maybe 5-13

It's not block rate that's the problem - it's that blocks completely nullify all attempted melee damage on that round, something that can completely throw the battle off course.

I don't care if they block or not. When they block, they enjoy it. I'm happy about it.

This game is about luck to me.

beating an "underskilled player" is certainly not "expierience and skills".

Maybe block could be like deflection, it removes a large portion of the damage, but not all of it

out of 24 2v2s and 1v1 fights combined today, i have not seen a single block appear ever, so blocking is not a problem lol

I think the maximum needs to go back to 45% and the minimum should be 0%. Str blood mages should not be blocking 130 dex with 40 dex it's garbage. That goes for every other class sacrificing dexterity for other stats and still reaping the benefits of dexterity.

The blocks have been nerfed 4 times now, there is no need for another nerf. No matter what everything will have complaints about it, can't please everyone, you know?

@DestructingM, if you can't beat them, join them.

I've been advocating for an increase of the maximum block chance for some time now. I used to craft my builds in a way that maximizes my block chance in most battles, but it rarely blocked when it should. So I decided to spam a strength build with extremely low Dexterity and now I enjoy being able to NOT get blocked by opponents with a high block chance. The grass is truly greener on the other side my friend. :)

The reason as to why blocks are such an important factor is that it's capped at a certain level, so no matter what the difference is your opponent is still guaranteed to block you. A person with 0 dex can block a person with 100 dex because of this cap. If we were to remove this it would make a lot of sense.
