Knocking Down Doors

Hey there EpicDuelists- we’re coming up to another Friday the 13th (along with the return of the F13 cheevo) and the continuation of the Infernal Infiltration War!

Legion may have felled the first Vault door, but there’s still time for the Exiles to catch up, with the 2nd Vault battle already underway!


Master of Unlocking

The Second Vault Door is already feeling the pain (metaphorically speaking- the Vault Door is a Door, and cannot feel pain) of thousands of both Legion and Exile soldiers. And players will have something valuable to fight for- upon the collapse of the Second Vault Door, Level 35 will be available for your grinding pleasure!

Along with unlocking Level 35, behind the door is a shop featuring Level 35 Sidearms (in both credit and varium flavors) that include the new special Infernal Spirit! This allows you to inflict +1 damage against the Vault and +1 Defense against its attacks. For a player wearing the Mechachillid armor, and wielding the Infernal Interdictor, this means that that Vault door doesn’t stand a chance!

When life gives you gren, make grenades!

We’ll be introducing four NEW grenades to make the battle against the Vault even more epic: The Stagrenade, Crystal Grenade, Hammer Grenade, and the Short Circuit Grenade. While all four will be available for purchase, anyone can get one of these grenades via a drop.

  • Stalagrenade: As you may have noticed, as the battle progresses, the Vault’s defenses and attacks increase. To counteract this, the Stagrenade sticks to the Vault door and detonates, resetting its defenses and damage to the start.
  • Crystal Grenade: Locks the Vault’s defenses in place, effectively giving you a free attack!
  • Hammer Grenade: Has a chance to do minimal or massive damage to the Vault- all beholden to the RNG gods.
  • Short Circuit Grenade: Causes the Vault’s defenses to backfire, making it attack itself!

As stated above, all of these grenades are available as War Battle Drops (or as rewards for upcoming War missions), as well as for purchase.


Lucky You!

If you manage to get a chance between bashing down the Vault door, AQW’s Friday the 13th event featuring Voltaire, the Beast Maker, and the Sleezter Bunny will be going LIVE on Friday. And if you’re as much of an audiophile as I am, you’ll love hearing Voltaire’s dulcet tones accompanying you through a voyage of mirth, mayhem, and weird hellbeasts.

HeroSmash’s Cirque du Freak will also be making its regular F13 appearance. So, lots of fun to be had even if you aren’t fighting the Vault. But, really, you should be fighting the Vault. ;)


What? No Insect Facts?

Don’t want to keep you away from the War for TOO long ;) Also, I’ll be doing some field work later this summer, so maybe Night will let me talk a little tiny bit about what I do beyond writing for ED. Also, some of the academic reading I’ve been doing is going into the quests. >::3

Excited to see the new bombs and guns, but i'll be at a camp next week, so i'll end up just buying one of each bomb to have them, not work for drops. Sadly [:(]

Good realese but what will da winner recieve another achivement? I want loot. Btw my birthday is the 26 so make me happy :D. Guppy i dont consider achivement a prize but hey i guess its ok i could use another star.

All three Stages winning side gets an Achievement. i.e. Stage I, Stage II, Stage III Achievements. Legion got Stage I Achievement obviously, so next person will get Stage II, now if the Rating Points are better as the Stages go up, i'm not sure, probably (Hopefully) though.

Same here, I want a Blue Star really bad. But I only have 40k Rating Points, and one Blue Star is 92.5k Rating Points. That's a far time down the road for me... x.x

Blue Star is 90k ratings. and thats good because I only need 3600 Moar.

The RNG Gods are acting again (against me OFC), nooooooooooooooooo...

Let's see how (UN-)lucky i will be with those new grenades.

Weird strategy i made:

Turn 1: Plasma Bolt (damage)
Turn 2: Bludgeon (damage)
Turn 3: Heal
Turn 4: Short Circuit Grenade
Turn 5: Crystal Grenade
Turn 6(?): Plama Bolt (damage again)

It all looks very good.

One thing I wish they fix the next time they do a new thing about the war (having a new door for example) is that they post it on the design notes right away..

As Spartacus pointed out earlier in another thread, plenty of players were unaware that a door had been set up and were exiting the screen before attacking it.

But good job to devs, this war is really nice and exciting. I wanted new guns for a while.. I can't wait for this door to go down

The way the design notes are worded...

Once we break threw the 2nd vault we will have weapons that will give us extra damage and defense against the vault.

SO... there is at least a third vault if not more behind that one...

Yay... this war is going to last forever :)

They announced from the beginning there was 3, but they may have added more.

New Guns certainly sound interesting, Credit versions too but let's hope it's also for more Levels since not only top players fight in the War. ^^ I could use a new Gun too, will aim for Physical Credit one since I'm drained when it comes to Varium and I can enhance 5 slots with Credits (Gun should have about that.. xD). But we'll see. But quite nice! :D
And the new Grenades also seem really interesting, I wanna see best combo now that will allow you to reach highest possible damage (excluding blocks ofc.). :P

Well I changed back to Merc now, and went with a tech abusing build with 2 bunkers and a surgical. And I must say that I LOVE how the crits look now with bunker and the new weapon [:D] BOOOOOM and they are gone from the screen :D

But it said multiple Varium and Non-Varium Guns for both sides, not just one. [:D] I hope Exile Guns don't look better then Legions, because there Blades for Hunters look better then Legions.
