8x -> Rarity Points (7/13/2012 7:54:46)

I think devs need some kind of forumula for the rarity points. Because right now armor like light mechachillid costs 5500 and gives 1650 rarity and high level seasonal rare weapon gives 550 rarity and costs 14k credits. Armor is a lot cheaper and gives 3 times as much rarity...

Formula suggestion:
(Credit Price x 0.1) + (Varium Price x 0.3) + (Rarity bonus from the tag) = Rarity Score

Tag Rarity bonus:
Seasonal-Rare = 250
Limited-Rare = 400
Rare= 500
Ultra-Rare= 750

Now lets see what Rarity scores for Light mechachillid armor and Graphite zooka would look like:
5500 x 0.1 + 500 =1050
14000 x 0.1 + 250 =1650

Example for varium weapon (Celtic War Staff):
12000 Credits x 0.1 + 995 Varium x 0.3 + 250 From the Rare tag = 1998.5

Not really supported. That system relies too much on the credit cost. All items level 32 or higher would automatically give a minimum of 1,800 rarity points. Treasure Hunter should not be THAT easy to get.

Rui. -> RE: Rarity Points (7/13/2012 12:24:45)

you cannot put a base value on how rarity should be calculated. What should be done is if a player has more than two of the same item the rarity score should not be more than the initial item. Example if bug armour rarity is 100, possessing 1 or 5 of the armour should be just 100 rarity. A true treasure hunter is one who collects unique items. End of discussion

Etrigan -> RE: Rarity Points (7/13/2012 12:37:53)

You're implying that founder/beta weapon gear should ALL be worth 750 * 6(Because there is NO cred/var price, you can't sell them), I don't have the time to go off buying crappy stuff to add to my rarity score. Not supported.

Now lets see what Rarity scores for all Founder and Alpha and Beta items would look like:

0 x 0.1 + 0 x 0.3 + 750 = 750
No. Unacceptable.

@below - Really? Hmm, that's what they're worth right now. Too bad I can't sell them.

@rej
The numbers by how much prices are multiplied can be adjusted to give less rarity.

@Rui.
This thread is not about treasure hunter achievement, it's about the fact that some of the cheaper items give more rarity than expensive ones. Actually now that I think about it, Light mechachillid armor even gives more rarity then some above level 31 varium seasonal rares (example: celtic weapons).

@Etrigan
When "finder bot" was added as an option on Vendbot I saw that the base price for beta and founder items is 20k credits and 2k varium and I think that the base price for alpha weapons was 20k credits. That would mean that each of those Ultra-Rare beta/founder items gives 3350 rarity.

8x rarity directly effects treasure hunter and your rank on the rarity leaderboard. The only reason why people stock pile up on charfade sword.

The war is a phase and it happens only once. Whereas the rest of the items can be obtained over time.

Next we are gonna talk about why level azreal bane costs 20k credits and 1.5k varium while the level 35 sword cost less is it ?

Jealous?[;)] Anyways, if I wanted to have high rarity I would just sell 30 charfades swords and buy 30 light mecha armors. And by doing so changing 33,000 rarity into 49,500 rarity and it would only cost me 15k credits. Heck, maybe even sell all of my credit rares and exchange them for light mecha armors...

Rui. -> RE: Rarity Points (7/13/2012 14:27:51)

hmm i dont get carried away by materialistic items, fame, rarity or stars. I usually sell my old stuff... I have sold my assault bot nightwraith duds skull blaster why you may ask ? Well i end up spending all my credits retraining to try different builds. When i changed to cyber i blew 130k on retraining so i usually like to have 5 items in my inventory. Sometimes when i get drunk its a different story.

8x -> RE: Rarity Points (7/13/2012 14:44:30)

Credits: I hardly spend any credits on retraining and I don't class change much. I think spending credits on enhancements and house items is a waste. So I have piles of credits and only think they can be used for is collecting non varium rares.
Fame: I couldn't care less about it. I only needed 1k to get achievements (the second thing I like to do is collecting achievements).

This is getting way off topic, but whatever :P, devs probably don't read suggestions anyways. lol
