Effect: If the hit connects, there is a 13.29% chance of attempting to Blind* the monster for one turn. If successful, the monster will take -15 BTH, multiplied by its Darkness resistance. Darkness-element monsters are immune to this effect. The monster takes a penalty of -20 to its save**:

SET BONUS
If you also have the armor and the shield of the set equipped, there is a 14.89% chance of the pet attempting to make the monster Choke*** (re-named as Tremble) every turn, lowering the monster's effectiveness by 30%, multiplied by its Darkness resistance, for one turn. Darkness-element monsters are immune to this effect. The save†† is as follows:

**Your opponent manages to avoid being blinded by your «Pet Name».

Creatures aligned with Darkness are immune to «Pet Name»'s frightening aura.
††Your foe is unnerved by your «Pet Name», but shakes it off.
    Where «Pet Name» is the name you have given to your pet. If you haven't re-named your pet, Shade's Notice Z is used instead.
DESCRIPTION
A bird-like companion of the Forgotten that is a sign of the horrors yet to come. It tends to focus on the eyes of its enemies, plucking them out and leaving them Blind.
