Ez_Ease -> Character Webpage (8/5/2012 11:39:26)

I would like to see and option where I can control who sees my inventory.
I can speak only for myself but I am not interested in a person collection,
and if I am I can go look at the alltime leaders board to see who is at the top.
Why I think it is necessary is because it may help reduce people asking for
varium when they see that a person has a collection of rare items. This
leads a person to believe that they should ask since the missconception is
that I have some to spare. I know that many players in this games play in
countries that are in poverty, and it is hard to get varium but asking is not
a good thing and it is a private thing as well. I do not need some to look at my
inventory and then try and calculate how much I may have spent, only to make
a unwise comment like why you spend that much money on a game.
It not their place to judge me or me to judge them. They dont know what I have
that is expendable or what I give to charity, because that is a personal matter.
I would prefer that they only see what I am currently equped with. Thanks

Oh, this is... well... rather unique.

1. You're speaking only for yourself, and I'm sure no one else really cares if people sees their inventory over things like begging. However, you feeling the way you do, there are ways to stop them from begging, or ways you can handle it better.

2. Saying "No" is not that hard. if they say keep begging, leave or just don't answer.

3. I'm sure half of those people who ask are quite aware that you can't "Give" varium to a player without access to their account. With this being said, if you do not like beggars, or do not wish to respond, don't. No matter what you do, you can always un-equip items so they will not know what you have, because you are not showing it.

4. People most likely don't go on a character page just for the inventory. If they see what you have, then they obviously know you have rares. It's a simple toll.

The thought of limiting your character page to what you have equipped basically shows nothing. The inventory is to show what you have collected and what exotic items you have. I'd say showing items is a benefit, because most people enjoy looking at what others have.

While I am speaking for myself, I just think you should have some means of controlling what others see.
It would be a simple option where you can just hide or visible problem solved.
Usually I am very polite and will chat, and you are correct a simple no can suffice, but maybe they would
not have asked. I dont know what % of people that use a person page to gain an advantage to scam
another person, those are the ones I am concerned about. I have been asked to often about varium
and I never bring it up in a conversation, but I do try and report it as soon as I can. The goal is to create
a safe playing environment for everyone. Have a great day

As i do agree, there could be a way to limit what people see. But limiting only one, would mean to limit the rest. You could make it to whereas you cannot have certain people see your character page, but that itself is a stretch. My guess is to find some common ground. But if you make it to whereas people cannot see anything on your webpage, means no fame, defeating the purpose of having one. limiting what others see: is this to specific people or everyone? Because making it to specific people means you would have to do this manually. if this is to everyone, it would defeat the purpose of the feature. I think that this might not come through, but that is just my judgement.

Not supported. If I see a weapon who's name I have forgotten, or have not seen in quite some time, I like to check the Player's character page and find out what it is. This would prevent that.

Sorry that it has taken me so long to reply, wanted to accomplish some of my goals in the war.
I would like to only limit what people see on my page, that is really not a choice for anyone else,
but I do understand this is a game and some will say they have a right, but their rights ends where
my begins. The only thing I wwant control over or option is my gear that I purchase, everything else
can be for public viewing.
