Ahmed the Nublet -> Do you think the forums should get a new look? (8/15/2012 20:50:02)

This is my first thread for a long time...I always thought that these forums are old looking more like an old website.Do you think this forums get a new look, interface, features etc.?Maybe something like extra PM storage?Better search system (I hate when I have to search for something -_-)?More post formatting options?

I am not really sure if this will be deleted because it's was a suggestion thread or because it doesn't discuss the game.

please discuss and be respectful.

It's not always about things being fancy - Simplicity is sometimes enough, more than enough. Especially for forums, in-game touch-ups as such are a different story.

I think this should go in the forum suggestions and not really here.

Maybe a little extra PM storage wouldn't be all bad and also a function that makes it so that all that =AQW= tagged threads are in one section and other, random, threads are in a separate section. Kind of like we have the sticky threads right now on top, then a similar section for tagged threads and under that the rest of the player made random discussion threads would come.

All sections would have separate side count so that for example the tagged thread section would show, say, the latest five official threads (then you'd have to go to the next "tagged thread page" in order to get to the older ones) and with that they wouldn't take up the entire page and so on if that was possible. That would make them easier to find while at the same time they wouldn't take up more space than necessary.

Didn't a staff member say recently how forum upgrades were towards the bottom of their to-do-list?

The Artix.com "One Login to Rule Them All" project continues
I was taught, and believe "the only way to fail is to quit." The famous inventor of the lightbulb, Thomas Edison, made 1,000 unsuccessful attempts before he finally created one that worked. When interviewed he said, "I didn't fail 1,000 times. The light bulb was an invention with 1,000 steps." Of course, you already know that about us and you are a part of it. That is why you are reading this right now. Sure, everyone likes seeing us epically mess up and fall on our faces... but the truly fascinating part to watch is how we always get right back up and keep on going until we get it right. So I want you to know we are are fixing all of the problems you have told us about at Portal.Battleon.com by building a bigger, better website right here. Our goal is to have EVERYTHING.... upgraded forums, unified player support, all game management, cross game achievements, gamer pages, etc. done by summer next year. We will be starting by releasing the new site design in about 2 weeks along with the AdventureQuest 3D Beta website. Then, just like how we evolve our games, we will begin upgrading the features of the website one step at a time.
Quoted from this Artix.com Design notes. :3

Personally, I think the forums are fine the way they are, you know the saying "Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication".
Also, I seem recall a time when Approved Authors, and maybe Approved Artists, too, gained extra PM storage, 300 PMs at most, IIRC. But, those groups are now gone, and I guess the Archive button was implemented thereafter. ;P
