theholyfighter -> Enhancements~The thing ppl talked about (10/5/2012 9:54:05)

The cost of the enhancements are..um...ridiculous. Since even paid players are asking for a lowered amount, I got on the wave an posted some thoughts.
Slots you buy (totally)----Price(credits)
1----------------------------1000
2----------------------------3000
3----------------------------6000
4----------------------------10000
5----------------------------15000
6----------------------------21000
7----------------------------28000
8----------------------------36000
9----------------------------45000
10---------------------------55000

Breakdown:
1st slot costs 1000
2nd slot costs 2000
3rd slot costs 3000
4th slot costs 4000
5th slot costs 5000

^ they would never do this beacuse then people will never buy varium for varium weps will just buy credit weps and use credit enhancements

theholyfighter -> RE: Enhancements~The thing ppl talked about (10/5/2012 10:01:55)

Yea everyone knew that......O well it doesn't hurt to post it tho.

Ranloth -> RE: Enhancements~The thing ppl talked about (10/5/2012 10:02:24)

They may not do it as low but they will lower the prices by quite a decent amount.. This is confirmed too.. <.< Besides Varium is alternative, you either work in-game or pay your way through + Varium has many other advantages.

gangster a -> RE: Enhancements~The thing ppl talked about (10/5/2012 10:06:33)

^ i like the idea but im always short of credits so this would be a problem for me

Ranloth -> RE: Enhancements~The thing ppl talked about (10/5/2012 10:08:03)

Then you can farm, it's not our problem since one player cannot speak for majority. If you cannot farm then buy Varium and go the easy way hence why it's there. You either work for it or buy your way through.

Mother1 -> RE: Enhancements~The thing ppl talked about (10/5/2012 10:08:26)

I made a similar thread to this however I support this. The prices for credit enhancments are not only sky high, but you don't even get anything extra back if you decide to sell the item. This means that players would spend over 200K in credits to fully enhance their gear while if they sell it only they get nothing extra like when you enhance with varium.

"At least with these prices f2p could compete better, as well as not being the punching bags for ever other OP varium build. Plus with the enhancement gap brought almost to a close the developers would be able to see what is truly OP and what is only hurting a certain group of people (Mean it is balance for the later since one build is not suppose to beat all.)

Gangster a it would be grind for the credits or pay with varium for quickness so Varium would still have the advantage since it would still be the faster way to enhance, and even if people did do this Varium still has it's uses such as name change, buying houses, and promo items.

theholyfighter -> RE: Enhancements~The thing ppl talked about (10/5/2012 10:11:42)

Overall the "1 stat costs 1000 credits" is just an example~ However, IMO 60,000~70,000 credits for 10 enhancement slots is a LIMIT already.

Ranloth -> RE: Enhancements~The thing ppl talked about (10/5/2012 10:33:02)

I'd say 100K for 10 slots is fine. Why? You'll probably never see F2P item with 10 slots; 10 slots is exclusively for Phase items such as Delta, Gamma, Beta and Alpha. 9 is the most for promo items usually and 6-8 is usually most for F2P. Only (Limited) Rare items with Varium-bonus like Harbringer items will have 9 slots but that's limited and price would be under 100K to fully enhance. 30K is for 5 slots now which is quite fine really (I usually enhance 'till 5th slots with Credits) and just make prices not so steep past that.

Or simply, refer to this first: http://epicduelwiki.com/w/Enhancements , and make Credit:Varium rate 60:1. Prices would then be:
Slot 1: 3,000
Slot 2: 6,000
Slot 3: 12,000
Slot 4: 18,000
Slot 5: 30,000
Slot 6: 42,000
Slot 7: 57,000
Slot 8: 72,000
Slot 9: 87,000
Slot 10: 102,000

Much more affordable even until 6th slot which is normal for F2P items that aren't rare, limited, seasonal or whatever. Either of the tags bumps it to 7 slots which is 57K, and 8-9 is for items with Varium advantage and depending on their rarity but you can always enhance first few slots very cheaply and build up Credits for later for rest enhancements.

theholyfighter -> RE: Enhancements~The thing ppl talked about (10/5/2012 10:55:31)

I was trying to get f4ps to be able to afford 20 enhancements... ( Since the normal items give 5 slots, 5x4=20)

^According to your list, it would cost 120,000 credits. For other more experienced f4ps, they might want to get seasonal rares ( which gives more enhancment slots) and get about 8 enhancements per item ( 8x4=32) which costs 288000...

IMO it's close to being reasonable. ( The reason for not thinking it as 100% reasonable is because just as everyone knows ED releases new items quite frequently...That nearly means 288,000 credits every 2 months+ new items which means 6000 credits per day if you play every day......)

Ranloth -> RE: Enhancements~The thing ppl talked about (10/5/2012 11:08:01)

120K isn't that much though, I enhanced many items using Credits up until 5th slot (30K atm) and had chance to get Bikes from the War, recently buy the Armor for Credits (28K) and I have over 15K back already. Credits really just pile up at higher Level because you don't need to spend as much. And even though items are released quickly, you can still use ones say 2 or even 3 levels below you since it's not that big advantage. I usually replace 3-4 Levels after purchasing the item since 1 Level is usually 3-4 stats and 1 damage and that ain't worth it.

And no.. Seasonal items have 7 slots, there isn't 8 slot one since Varium advantage gives 2 slots (hence 9 slots on Credit Harbringer). That's 228K. But who is stupid enough to go for 7 slots at once and then next item? You're better off going 5 slots for each item first (20 slots!) and do other 8 slowly since they will cost much more. You still have to remember Varium is alternative and Credits cannot be too cheap. You don't find it reasonable due to nature of items being released with same stats but different set-up. I'm sure you'd rather pay 320K Credits instead for 7 slots for 4 items (28 slots) instead of 228K because it's just 92K difference which is easy. (yet fact they fall down significantly isn't enough..)

Don't expect 10 slots to be lower than 100K since it'd be too little. There has to be balance and players are wise if they decide to enhance so no one will fully enhance item per item but try to go for cheapest alternative and do it slowly.

Isn't the current varium to credit rate 56 credits to 1 varium?

Varium ENH Cost: Current

Maybe if we readjusted the rates to currently match the players basis.

I was thinking reducing the rates by this: (all decimals are rounded up to the nearest whole number)

15%

20%

25%
30%

Making the rates becoming, effectively:

Which, with this lesser rate, would make credit prices (saying variums prices stay the same):

^ Where did you get the info about
quote:

the current varium to credit rate 56 credits to 1 varium?

???

rayniedays56 -> RE: Enhancements~The thing ppl talked about (10/5/2012 11:30:19)

I used simple math.

It costs either 900 varium to change class or 50,000 credits

Using this formula:

900varium 1 varium
------------- = -------------
50,000credits x credits

Take 50,000, times it by 1 to get 50,000, now divide 50,000 by 900 to get 55.5555, which is rounded to 56

theholyfighter -> RE: Enhancements~The thing ppl talked about (10/5/2012 11:34:15)

Hmm
However if I take Infernal Android's prices the credits-to-varium rate is 28.....

rayniedays56 -> RE: Enhancements~The thing ppl talked about (10/5/2012 11:41:26)

I used a more...static version of varium to credit rates

The infernal android was DELIBERATELY made to be cheaper to variums and non vars, so the rate SHOULD be lower, I am assuming.

Remember that due to ever changing dynamics in the game and constant up dating on items, etc, that the rate COULD be effectively reduced to suit players needs.

gangster a -> RE: Enhancements~The thing ppl talked about (10/8/2012 8:02:10)

if this doesnt interfere with the var prices then im ok with it.
