Hyperion211 -> Blood Mages (10/24/2012 8:50:03)

Hello everybody :
I think that in blocks and luck also in attack blood mages are fierce they are very lucky even if they dont have high dex if they block u once u always get blocked and this is not fair. blood mages are also blocked so little times and with their strength builds they win all the battles i think just let blood mages have less luck it isnt fair

zion -> RE: Blood Mages (10/24/2012 10:15:13)

Care to explain how luck fits into a discussion about balance?

Promaster -> RE: Blood Mages (10/24/2012 10:42:32)

I do not see how this applies only to blood mages. This can happen for any class after all, since luck not only affects blood mages. If there are classes that are more "lucky", it'll be classes like bounty hunters and cyber hunters seeing as they have a skill that increases their block chance by a certain percentage. Blood mages do not have any skills that provides them a chance to have anything to proc at all, excluding their stun which i have never seen anyone use before. Trust me, str builds for blood mages are not OP, in fact, you can ask any of them using those builds. They'll tell you how many times they have been blocked and deflected that made them lost the fight for that day. They're sacrificing defence for offence and so that is the risk that they are taking. Nothing OP about it actually. Plus, i do not really see how you can take away "luck" from blood mages in the first place.

One thing is for sure, it feels more rare to block an attack than before. I remember that having a dex that resembles 30 def against someone with 21 or 22 def would mean that the person with lower dex would be blocked a lot... but right now it is rare.
This gives a advantage to the str builds, like the op stated.

Power by default, is more useful than defense.
Why? Well, no meter how much defense you have (with or without shields), you still get damaged by power. And if you manage to defend yourself, the outcome of that defense will result in rage from the other player which IGNORES defenses.

In the case of blood mages and bounty hunters, this even gets worse, even if you heal or manage to delay your death with defense, in only serves as them regenerating faster and gaining rage simultaneously.

When i talk about POWER, i mean ALL kind of offensive attacks, though str is most strong, now.

@veneeria: There is a very simple explanation for this... They lowered the max block rate! A possible solution to combating STR could be to re-raise the block (and maybe the deflect) rates, but that would slow the game down... decisions, decisions...

Well blood mages are so overpowered, they are able to do more than 50 damage in 2 turns to the biggest tank so they need a debuff

ND Mallet -> RE: Blood Mages (10/24/2012 21:03:13)

The problem with increasing the luck factor is that it often leaves the lower level players way bad off. Even with the recent changes to the formulas, my alt has lost dozens of battles he could've won because luck stepped in.

blood mages are too op with str i dont really care if they dont get blocked much but they should have a limit to what there str can be.

Demon Emperor -> RE: Blood Mages (10/28/2012 9:18:18)

I've been a BM since they had berzerker. Then str was extremely OP. Now berzerker is gone, and fireballs dmg got nerfed. Basically bludgeon and deadly aim are the only str skills left. A lot more BMs are using 5-focus builds, tank builds and heal builds. BMs are blocking more because they really aren't using str builds, and personally I use reflex boost a lot, raising the block chance more. I think BM is good right now, because I win and lose against all of the classes, and I don't consistently destroy 1 class in particular.
