Seahawk -> RE: How many Official Warnings makes a ban? (10/28/2012 2:22:07)

There's no hard-and-fast rule that says "After X number of warnings, ban the user." And if there was, we wouldn't tell you the number, because then we'd have people thinking things like "Well, I've been warned 3 times... I still get two more before they ban me!" As a general rule, you'll never be banned for something without being warned first; we're not tyrants and we'd like to give you the chance to correct your behavior and continue to be an active member of the AE forum community. Bans come after you keep doing the same thing after being repeatedly warned not to do so, and we are forced to take the position that it will take something stronger then a warning to get you to pay attention. Likewise, if you get warned and your response is to accuse of of being goose-stepping fascists who just want to crush your rights to post freely, you'll bring yourself much closer to getting banned then if you take what we said to heart and try to correct your behavior. That being said, there are exceptions... for example, if you create an account and your first post is to link to hardcore porn sites, it's a pretty safe bet that's the last thing you'll ever post here.
