Stabilis -> Battle Feature: Position! (10/28/2012 12:16:50)

Suggestion: a new battle feature to add complexity. Diagram (sorry for spamming Mr. G&W) ^ That was the basic image to visually describe what a position is. A position will be the player's place of area in a battle. A position determines the melee or ranged effectiveness of a player. For example, if P1 was a player at section C and P2 was P1's opponent also at section C but on the opposite side, both players would be at a disadvantage if using a melee option. Now, if both players were at section A, both players would be at an advantage if using a melee option. If there are exactly 2 section blocks between 2 players, such as both players being at section B, there is no effect, exactly as it is in a normal battle. Position Index: 0 Spaces = Melee +2 1 Space = Melee +1 2 Spaces = 0 3 Spaces = Ranged +1 4 Spaces = Ranged +2 A default position to start at when entering a battle can be chosen by selecting 1 of 3 options on the player page, next to the skill tree. Aggressive = section A, neutral = section B, passive = section C. When in battle, a position can be changed if desired by selecting the matching section with 1 of 3 buttons next to Strike. This does not use a turn. A normal action can be selected afterward. The actions do not proceed until a normal action (such as Strike) is selected. For example, if it is my turn in a battle I have 15 seconds. I chose "position: change to section A". Nothing happens. Then I choose Strike. I then move to section A, and then I perform Strike on a target. The effects of positions are up for debate. Feel free to discuss those. Remember! Avoid "power" debates, turns can last less than 5 rounds already!
