Exploding Penguin -> Buffed Primary Special Abilities (11/14/2012 21:03:50)

After considering primaries which I used the most, I think we all know that promos are really what 90%+ of all the varium level 35s use. Among these promos, many of them are extremely similar (EX: Frost destroyer and infernal interdictor stats are almost exactly the same, and they are also strangely similar to those mutatings and katanas in the new suggestion shop). Since interdictor is the highest level of these primaries, it's typically used far more often. I can only think of 2 reasons why someone would use frost destroyer instead of interdictor:
1. They only have frost destroyer and not interdictor
2. There's no strength requirement on frost destroyer, but a support requirement instead...quite opposite to the interdictor

So... I've come up with some ways to buff old special abilities on old promos in order to make them equally used compared to the more modern promos:

Frostbite: Increased chance by 1-2% of happening, as well as having a chance of being applied on ALL melee attacks, not just strike.
Thorn Assault: Pathetically weak special ability, and this primary really has very few uses, aside from being used for multiple builds on TLM. The new thorn assault will give a 2-turn DOT, dealing a random 3-5 damage for those 2 turns following up.
Azrael's Mark: This really is already a pretty good special ability, so I'm not going to buff it.
Lucky Strike: Also increases chance of going first by the same % that it gives you on the anti-block chance effect.
Jack-o-fire: In 2v2, it hits both opponents for 100% of the strike damage. In 1v1, it hits for 113% normal damage.

Note that these aren't just for rebalancing, they're also for instilling more creative build ideas, as well as mixing up fights and bringing back the value and use of previous "outdated" promos.

I agree, old promos that went for the same price as the newer promos don't have the same power as the newer ones. Buffing the older promos (maybe buff frost destroyer to level 35?) would make gameplay much fairer to those who purchased varium earlier in the games history.

Blaze The Aion Ender -> RE: Buffed Primary Special Abilities (11/14/2012 22:34:11)

Ya got what ya paid for

It was bound to become outdated, it's epicduel, that's what happens

Mysterion. -> RE: Buffed Primary Special Abilities (11/15/2012 7:56:47)

Even tough i only have Infernal and both Reaper blades.

I like the idea, i almost never see the frost destroyers or the Bio's anymore.
Azreal i see a bit more since its effect is just amazing.

I support it even tough i dont have any of those weapons.

Metallico -> RE: Buffed Primary Special Abilities (11/15/2012 18:35:18)

Iīd like also xmas buffed weapons, lvl 31 weapons donīt work for us now

Ferrin -> RE: Buffed Primary Special Abilities (11/17/2012 7:20:09)

supported people that supported epic duel in the old days and getting their old promos buffed up to match new things would give 'em their full varium's worth.

TRizZzCENTRINO -> RE: Buffed Primary Special Abilities (11/17/2012 7:56:43)

no not supported, u got wat you paid for.....so buffing old promos
is not a option

Crimson Eagle -> RE: Buffed Primary Special Abilities (11/17/2012 7:58:34)

Everything has to get outdated someday...

arthropleura -> RE: Buffed Primary Special Abilities (11/18/2012 0:34:51)

I support but this means that players will only buy new promos for:
A new special effect or
Better stats/requiremnts
as a result, package sales will decrease and they will continues to make effects more and more OP
from a pessimistic view xD
