legion of souls -> Your past experiences in factions (11/22/2012 22:40:03)

I was thinking about factions and decided to make a thread for people to discuss their experiences in factions

pinoy idols -> RE: Your past experiences in factions (11/30/2012 10:41:14)

Everyone goes inactive a few weeks after I join.
It's like I've become a living fossil or something.

A lot of factions have died since they changed the whole faction system. I wished they would have left it so you could see your wins instead of your influence.

True that, im suprised to see factions like Legit and CAD(and many more) just die after always being on top.

Pretty good so far with factions :) Staying Strong.

Up until about lvl 15 I didn't even understand what factions were, I actually remember thinking that they were some sort of title underneath a persons name. So yeah, eventually I figured out what they were, joined one, and became an officer. About a week later I was kicked out. I'm thinking the leader joined another faction. Another faction I joined, the founder went unactive, and everyone started leaving the fac. Eventually I did too. So, my experience with factions is that the faction is only as good as the founder.

One Winged Angel1357 -> RE: Your past experiences in factions (11/30/2012 21:15:05)

I lead Hells Angels for many a moon but everyone went inactive because I wasn't going to force people to play 24/7 to meet a win req. Right now JZ, wait checking if JZ kicked me nope she didn't, like I was saying JZ put me in charge of Enchanted forest and I have been a great leader with 13 days inactive but it is a lax faction just like HA.

Ah, Federation Elite. Truly a team.

^ That was actually an interesting time for me and I imagine for lots of others... The 5 faction leaders took a step to something that hasn't ever been done in the game' history. Looking back, they came up with some brilliant ideas that were effective then, yet much more effective today. It was a good time in terms of the sense of community for me, especially since I was looking at it from a player's POV. I'm hoping initiative steps up for something similar to be done and a unique step be taken similar to what was done back then.

In terms of experiences, I've found myself in all types of factions - competitive, passive and... really lazy *ehem*. Competition is definitely different now compared to then, I wouldn't last a day in a competitive faction who does dailies almost daily. Being in a competitive faction lasted me 2 days... filling a spot in DSX for their 99th/100th 1v1 Daily. I was in the hive for a big portion of my playing time in ED and I have them to thank for giving me a space for over a year there. Great experiences overall.

Faction jumping has never been an issue to me since my current faction mostly takes alts, people who are too lazy to even log in. Great people, I'm really happy with who I convinced to join my faction, albeit mostly alts.

I'm hoping others are fortunate enough to have similar great experiences. :)

Well, i sure am. In fact my faction is currently trying to ally ourselves with Federation Elite.
Always wanted to join them.

Exploding Penguin -> RE: Your past experiences in factions (12/1/2012 20:40:16)

I don't like being in a faction unless I really know the founder. In the previous 6 or so factions, they're like "DONATE OR GET KICKED" and I donate 2k+ tokens, and right after I do that, I get kicked. It's as if I was being used for the faction's benefit. This is a really disturbing fact and I'm sure it's happened to multiple people, so I'm hoping to see some faction system changes later in the development of ED. I lost over 10k tokens this way, and the faction never even took the flag before I got kicked. Many people have probably lost way more tokens this way, so my experience with a faction is that it's only good if you know the founder well.
