i was thinking about a new sidearm what would do Damage Unlike any other guns.
It wont be only phys or res
It will have that damage in battle what will the opponent have lower def or res
Example : i am battling a High Tech Build Player hes Def is 23 and Res is 30 and i used the sidearm, the sidearm will do physical damage.
in 2 v 2 it will do as same but attack both enemies like The Dages Haunted Boomstick.
It Will be Realy Awesome. And it will have a only varium version since its so powerful or it will also be credit version.

Interesting idea you have, out of curiosity let's say you are in a 1v1 battle and the opponent has equal def/res, what will the gun do then?

It'd do one of them only, Digi. Guns usually have base type as it is and seeking would be classified as effect. ^^

Although there'd be an issue since you have 2 Guns in one so it'd either have to cost twice as much as other Guns or have penality for seeking on the enemy to keep it balanced. Especially when Malf/Smoke also affects it.

I think that the idea is interesting. You may not be able to classify by any damage type though, so if you opt to examine the gun's stats, the box for [Physical] or [Energy] may read [] or [?].

I do support this idea, the Sidearm ought to be exploited if it stays on Strength though.

Edit: Or [(showType.none)] that would be funny.

If there was a gun like this it would be totally perfect for me.
primary: energy
sidearm: energy/physical
aux: physical
Bot: energy/physical

That's 3 energy and 3 physical more important it's a unblockable attack. Still deflectable but better some damage than nothing.

If you wanted to do it that way you wrote it up a simple if else statement would make the system work right. Of course my knowledge of AS3.0 limited so it might have something much more practical than an if else statement but in a very simplified way this is what it would look like

if (def < res)
damage = physical
else
if(def > res)
damage = energy
else
damage = physical/energy(this is the default in case of a tie)

Or, if even DEF/RES, you could take the damage done for one type, divide it by two, and do one shot for each type.

If 50 gun damage, and 25 DEF/RES, then (25 divided by 2 roundup) = 13 P damage, 13 E damage

That would be neat. Titan (or was it Nightwraith), stated that dual-type damage would be a potential future experiment. It could be used here.

And since, if Defense DID equal Resistance, since the type does not matter, could be random. Imagine, a time when random events did not affect gameplay. [:o]

This would be overkill maybe, but what if Physical and Energy damage procured different effects? Such as, if the type of damage did not matter, a Physical shot could cause a burn (health-dot) while an Energy shot could cause a short-circuit (energy-dot).
