zer00x -> Blood Mage rage (12/7/2012 21:17:45)

I think this was posted before but really... im a merc with 96 support and max adredaline and they rage faster than me! thats unbalanced, rabble need to fix that

goldslayer1 -> RE: Blood Mage rage (12/7/2012 21:45:59)

@zer
they rage fast because u have high defense.

the higher ur defense, the faster the enemy rages.

Mother1 -> RE: Blood Mage rage (12/7/2012 21:47:03)

It is not unbalanced it is how rage works.

sure support helps rage again increase quicker. However when you add high attack (which most BM have) going against high defenses (which most non strength builds have) and you add in block deflections and crits they will rage faster. Especially if you are a tank merc who isn't attacking all the time but buffing, heal, or doing non attack moves. It isn't unbalanced in the least.

Vegafire -> RE: Blood Mage rage (12/7/2012 23:01:25)

zer00x im sorry but as goldslayer can verify im probably the fastest rage ganing BM in the game even if the other player doesent deflect or block, Mass damage makes it increased quicker and therefore i dont use skills i use unblockeable attacks with high damage, doesent make me overpowerd, i still ge bat quiet oftn if i play with thes tactics,

Also look at your Apponements Support properly not only do i do mass damage but my support is currently 48 + 39 and my defences are low, so unless you have Platinums pride expect to be Raged upon within the first 2-3 turns :P

zer00x -> RE: Blood Mage rage (12/8/2012 0:17:41)

@Vegafire

Yep, it was against you, i dont hate you or something dont misunderstand, its just blood mages gain rage way too fast

Mother1 -> RE: Blood Mage rage (12/8/2012 0:30:27)

@ zer00x

any build can gain rage fast if they have high offense and are going against high defenses not just blood mage. it is universal for all builds. It just so happens that BM and BH (the builds people complain about the mot) happen to use strength builds more then the masses so this is all they see.

I have seen merc's rage at turn three, heck even I as a TM once raged at turn three without being a strength build because one of my attacks was blocked. But it happens because rage works like this.

Exploding Penguin -> RE: Blood Mage rage (12/8/2012 0:50:50)

I think you're basing this off of that one fight against vegafire. Vega's build literally has all strength and support, and that type of build legitimately makes puts into effect one of the fastest rage-gaining builds in the game as of now. Here's what affects rage, just in case you're wondering:
1. Support increase your rage and lowers opponent's rage gain
2. Having high defense means your opponent gains more rage
3. Taking more damage means you gain more rage
4. Being deflected/blocked = massive rage gain
5. Dealing a critical hit on an opponent gives literally no rage, from my experience
6. Adrenaline as a skill does not lower the opponent's rage, just in case you thought that

zer00x -> RE: Blood Mage rage (12/8/2012 1:09:26)

Oh, then im sorry, i didnt notice she had high support ._.

Vegafire -> RE: Blood Mage rage (12/8/2012 7:03:04)

High support was not intended to build my rage quickly, i wanted a nice aux damage and good crititcal rates to combat shadow arts but it was effective for rage as well :D

Winters Key -> RE: Blood Mage rage (12/8/2012 13:54:59)

I'm a blood mage myself, and I myself have to say that it is a bit weird. Let me tell you how my previous build worked (I now use 5 focus):
(70 str+26 enhancements)
1st turn. Bludgeon (If blocked, rage increases A LOT)
2nd turn. Chairman's Fury(Next turn is rage)
3rd turn. Rage Gun (Kills)

So, I get rage in 3 turns... odd.

Exploding Penguin -> RE: Blood Mage rage (12/8/2012 15:44:01)

@winters key: rage is also based off of damage you deal, so getting blocked multiplies that by a little over 100%, as well as being deflected. Base statement is that if you have really high strength or support, or you just deal a lot of damage in 1 turn, you gain more rage, unless you crit, which, for some reason, gives me barely any rage. Chairman's fury gives the user back rage after it was stolen from the opponent. It works like assimilate, as if the opponent has no rage and you use chairman's fury, you gain less rage from that attack.

goldslayer1 -> RE: Blood Mage rage (12/8/2012 17:50:30)

@winters
the way rage works is, u deal damage based on how much damage u didn't do.

if ur strike damage potential is 60, and it gets blocked, ur gonna get 60% rage.
if ur strike hits and it does 30 damage, u get 30% because u didn't deal the other 30 damage.

in BMs case, theres just so much damage being in play, that theres alot of damage it wont deal due to enemy defense, and it forces BM to rage faster.

BM strength builds dont have to waste turns healing and boosting.
this is also why str BMs rage fast, other builds have to spend time healing, using boost, etc, and these types of moves dont award rage. thats why they rage slower.

Vegafire -> RE: Blood Mage rage (12/8/2012 19:37:21)

Right ill put this clearly My build attack and support wise is

51+42 str
48 +39 supp
140 Hp
Minimum Energy
35+24 Dex
35+19 tech

The stats it gives me are
21-26 + 35 Primary 56-61 Damage capable (Without skill)
21-26 + 34 + 10 sidearm 64-70 damage capeable
20-24 + 39 aux 59 - 63 damage capeable

Massive damage + support bonus = quicker rage, due to max bloodlust i dont need to heal and i can focus my energy around bludge and intimidate, Dex boost and energy sheild if needed

Having a base defence of
19-23 + 5 - 2 Defence
20-24 + 5 - 2 Resistance

This makes me quiet defensive at first aswell.

Crimson Eagle -> RE: Blood Mage rage (12/8/2012 20:05:43)

They rage at the same time as anyone else, just that they hit high. If you have a good Defense/Resistance that's why!

Metallico -> RE: Blood Mage rage (12/9/2012 2:26:35)

what i said in my past posts rage is unbalanced and wrong, the current system just encourages str builds

theholyfighter -> RE: Blood Mage rage (12/9/2012 2:55:45)

Tested this out myself~
Met a level 35 full var BM. His sidearm does 22+35+8 (65 damage), primary does 22+35 (57). He went first, intimidated, blugeon, then RAGE gun. I malfed, strked, and lost. BMs do rage too fast.
