What are your views on the new Omega system? You could be up a guy with 300+ support...

Title edited. Watch your language. ~Mecha

goldslayer1 -> RE: Views on stat [OMEGA] (12/9/2012 17:16:32)

if u have 300 support, u will most likely be 2 turned. so it doesn't matter.

but people will be surprised at stats when omega comes.

J.U.S.T.I.C.E. -> RE: Views on stat [OMEGA] (12/9/2012 17:19:46)

So.. Your saying if wiseman does his str build again, he will be turned? In Gamma he had a 210 str build which worked well in 2v2. He won almost every game.. Isn't this a disadvantage though? Especially for anti0jugg builds

goldslayer1 -> RE: Views on stat [OMEGA] (12/9/2012 17:22:54)

@justice
i highly doubt anyone had a 200+ str build that functioned right.

ur hp would just be too low, as well as ur dex and other stuff.

the build just wouldn't be able to function because it extremely lacks in other stuff (like energy)

EDIT: thats if u reached 200 str.

J.U.S.T.I.C.E. -> RE: Views on stat [OMEGA] (12/9/2012 17:23:40)

What about Founder items..?

Xx.Nemesis.xX -> RE: Views on stat [OMEGA] (12/9/2012 17:37:16)

Strategy in the game is not tied to which weapon you use, it relates to the stats you decide to end up with. Strategy will not be removed in any way by this change, and now that items are more customizable than before, it should increase the number of strategies available. In the current system, you have to cater your strategy to the gear because of the built-in nature of stats and stat requirements -- instead of just getting whatever weapon you want, and then catering it to they way you want to play.

Taken from dn's but i forgot how to write a quote so please bear with me.

@J.U.S.T.I.C.E.
You are wrong and Gold is right.

I'm not worried about it and I am excited to see the new builds that people will come up with.

The Astral Fury -> RE: Views on stat [OMEGA] (12/9/2012 17:42:24)

I don't think you could have +300 surport they even said you coudn't spend all in one stat.

Sympleton -> RE: Views on stat [OMEGA] (12/9/2012 18:32:12)

FYI G00NY did not have a 210 strength build that was widly successful. Pics or it didn't happen [;)]

On topic: Yeah I'm not too worried about it if people want to feed me wins with ridiculous 200 support builds.

Yo son -> RE: Views on stat [OMEGA] (12/9/2012 18:56:52)

lol, what you guys have forgotten is that enhancements are most likely going to be removed, even though you can now abuse one stat in omega, it wont be as bad as now, when a player can abuse every single stat in the game, and still manage to have good enough HP and EP.

kosmo -> RE: Views on stat [OMEGA] (12/9/2012 19:07:09)

Whit a blood mage u can use 5 unlukable skill in a row (fireball-chairmans futy- strike-fireball-gun). So i just need 2 put a huge ammount of strenght whit 300 hp, leaving defences at a basic stadium because i dont need 2 worry about loks and deflections; at that point i alwaise survive 4 turns and i alwaise kill my opponent in 4 mooves.

Yo son -> RE: Views on stat [OMEGA] (12/9/2012 19:19:01)

@Kosmo
please inform me where this so called blood mage is going to get all these stat points to put "a huge amount on strength with 300 hp"? please bro, control your imagination, I think it is running wild and loose.

Sympleton -> RE: Views on stat [OMEGA] (12/9/2012 20:06:40)

Please remember Kosmo, that even with 300 health and whatever tiny amount left put into strength, this BM won't have enough stats to fit his skill requirements.

This build wouldn't work even if he could have skills though... So...

legion of souls -> RE: Views on stat [OMEGA] (12/9/2012 22:35:44)

Everyone thinks it will be so customizable..
Believe me, it won't. Everyone will copy builds again

ansh0 -> RE: Views on stat [OMEGA] (12/10/2012 0:38:50)

*all stats to support*

*maxes RB and Eshield*

I present to you... le Tank!

Step 4: Gets 1HKOed by Bunker Buster because of 45 HP.

The maximum possible support with the current system without stat restrictions would be 283 on a TaM.
The calculation is using those items but other items that have the same sum of stats and enhancement
slots work too:

Dragon Buster II
Dage´s Haunted Boomstick
Energy Eggzooka
Dragon Slayer F/M

With 13-15 def and res at 47 HP it would be a possible 1 turn kill.

goldslayer1 -> RE: Views on stat [OMEGA] (12/10/2012 5:01:54)

45 hp hmm
ED, please let them spam all support.

zion -> RE: Views on stat [OMEGA] (12/10/2012 5:14:47)

Yes, but what would the aux damage be? He will almost definitely go first. And if you can't 1-shot him - artillery strike! And he will crit quite often too!

goldslayer1 -> RE: Views on stat [OMEGA] (12/10/2012 5:18:51)

@zion

52-+
then add ur aux damage (lets say 38)

52+ 38 = 90

90 damage at best (if it crits)

people need to stop making a big deal about this, a 283 support build isn't going anywhere.

midnight santa -> RE: Views on stat [OMEGA] (12/10/2012 6:12:46)

omega is mean end, so dis is end of epicduel ... :(

zion -> RE: Views on stat [OMEGA] (12/10/2012 6:27:43)

@GS1
First, that's a lot of damage to start a battle, and you could shave a few points off and add ~100 health if you want... it will be like beta 2v2 with all the auxes+artillery+crits parties... Try walking into that minefield without mineral armor!
Second, this can be a very abuse-laden system against npcs - like wars, etc. so it would be interesting to see how the devs combat that (if they decide to).

goldslayer1 -> RE: Views on stat [OMEGA] (12/10/2012 6:33:09)

@zion
wait till omega, u will be surprised.
all i know is, these builds would suck, no defense, no health, no damage besides aux.

if u think this build would work, then by all means, go ahead and get 280+ support, lets see how that works out on ur record without NPCs.

zion -> RE: Views on stat [OMEGA] (12/10/2012 8:11:37)

@GS1
We've been playing this game for the same length of time, so we can both agree that the radical changes in Omega are a huge surprise.
Anyway, merc support abuse has always been OP for 2v2, less so after the heal nerf... the point is that in Omega there seems to be a greater chance for abusive builds to take over the game.
You may have to decide which battle mode (1v1, 2v2, Jugg) you want to play and then pick the right class,item stat configs, item specials just to be competitive. I am envisioning a situation where you may need to do a class change and have a completely re-worked inventory (or an additional set of items) any time you want to switch between battle modes.
Furthermore, since items will be so customizable, I am envisioning a scenario where the devs nerf the latest OP build... and a new customized elite-item-OP-build is created and copied by the "Pros" in a few hours.
Do you not think that the OP build / other builds gap will widen dramatically?

goldslayer1 -> RE: Views on stat [OMEGA] (12/10/2012 8:14:02)

@zion
and i dont disagree, abuse builds will still be here, however a 280+ support build will not thrive in this game.
let alone be OP.

also thats not fair, there are pros that make builds and they get their builds copied.

this is what i dont like about the community sometimes, that they see a similar build, and automatically assume ur a build copier.

and yeah, OP builds may be stronger, but we dont know that yet.

and if merc can finally use a contending build, whats wrong with that?
