Digital X -> Overcoming difficulties. (12/11/2012 18:01:28)

This thread is to discuss those times that were maybe awkward, or difficult moments in game play, like you did something wrong with a build, or generally, and what you did to better yourself with it, and achieve what you wanted in the end.

Hope this makes sense, writing this late at night.

For me I guess.. was managing to donate the needed amount of Tokens to our flag, as I was quite busy during that period I struggled even to obtain 100 a week, let alone the needed amount, but I stuck with the goal and battled faster with a quicker build which paid off in the end, albeit having some drawbacks.

Let's hear yours! :)

One Winged Angel1357 -> RE: Overcoming difficulties. (12/11/2012 18:06:30)

Two years back I had picked up the frost scimitar to beat George Lowe with a HLTM build. I did pull it off rather nicely but the problems were I hate swords, I was broke, I sold my staff to buy the scimitar, and most importantly the HLTM build was terrible in real PvP fights.

So I had to lose my way to 8,500 credits which has really trashed my record but my record is sitting pretty at 50% now

That awkward moment when the first battle you have ever played in your entire life in EpicDuel was against a mod, and you didn't know why they had a green name so you searched on Google "How to get a green name in EpicDuel" for 3 weeks.

TRizZzCENTRINO -> RE: Overcoming difficulties. (12/11/2012 18:58:42)

^ha ha practel

and a few months ago, i was selling one of my broken items and accidentally clicked to sell gammabot and the screen came up for me to confirm to proceed or cancel but my hand slipped and clicked sell -_-

Blaze The Aion Ender -> RE: Overcoming difficulties. (12/11/2012 19:07:39)

Awkward moment when you need to do 36 damage to win, and do 35...

fhiz -> RE: Overcoming difficulties. (12/11/2012 19:35:52)

My time was back in early gamma. I had a bounty hunter and I was just learning the game. I made a build, looked it over and thought it was the best thing since color T.V. That is until I went into my first battle with and realized I didn't meet the tech requirement for blood lust.....

goldslayer1 -> RE: Overcoming difficulties. (12/11/2012 20:00:14)

i had to overcome the thought of a 139 hp build being 2 turned today.....

Exploding Penguin -> RE: Overcoming difficulties. (12/11/2012 20:19:18)

@fhiz I had a similar awkward time.

I think my main awkward time was when I had to remind pretty much 20% of all my opponents in 1v1 fights that blood lust, reroute, or hybrid armor weren't getting applied because they didn't meet the requirement. The real strange part happened when some of my opponents even refused to accept that truth, and later complained it was a bug that they weren't lifestealing even though they had max blood lust...lol

Goony -> RE: Overcoming difficulties. (12/11/2012 21:06:44)

I can remember trying to find a mercenary build to combat HLTM, Relic, Storms and myself tried so many builds and just as I was getting some success they introduced agillity. But I laugh about that era now, trying to defeat a Tech Mage who can have up too 350 health over the course of a battle. So much fun and they were very long games :)

Another difficulty was defeating Big Tuna as a mercenary. I can remember running around telling Illuminator and Barney that they needed to use intimidate twice and get lucky :p

midnight santa -> RE: Overcoming difficulties. (12/11/2012 23:47:54)

wen i canot changeing of class to op class, its so hard becuz moneys is greater to skills...

FrostWolv -> RE: Overcoming difficulties. (12/12/2012 0:25:44)

Well when I bought Kurz Elite gun which had 31 damage but had +12 str ..... and then they changed it to +12 dex :'(

But the better part was I made a 5 focus build with my BM and pawned those OP TLM back then [8D]

SMGS -> RE: Overcoming difficulties. (12/12/2012 0:30:16)

My biggest mistake would probably be saving 30K for a Roadhog the first time bikes we released... while I didn't have any armour upgrades. I was below par and I made myself even lower than below par! (Non Varium Tech Mage... good times <3) And now... I could relate the same thing... spending needlessly on another bike when I could put that money to better use (a better gun...). Oh well, slowly recovering from the money lost anyhow... Omega should make that a million times easier.

legion of souls -> RE: Overcoming difficulties. (12/12/2012 1:12:28)

My difficulties? Well, sit 'round the campfire kids. It's time for a story!
Once upon a time, there was a little mage called Glided Warlord. This little mage always had a dream to go big and one day be part of a nice community. He thought he would reach this dream easily. Guess what?
He didn't
Many of the immature players called a our little mage a "noob" or regarded him as someone who would never make it to the top.
Our little mage was much too wise for such players and actually pitied them. They made themselves feel superior by bullying others...
But, our little mage truly did feel hurt inside, so he turned to some of the very greatest mage masters and trained day and night to master his skills.
Soon enough, our little mage was no longer a little mage, he had grown up into a grown man and had escalated quickly in the ways of the mage.
He soon advanced over his friends and turned to learn the ways of the Blood mage. After exactly one year of training and practicing he soon earned his rank at the local area where most of the big-shots hang out (Oz, world 7). But, this was only the beginning of Glided Warlord's difficulties...

Nobody would take him seriously when he tried to join a faction. They treated him as if he was a Mechachillid from the Infernal Mines and didn't cae whether he wanted to stay, the simply clicked the trash button and our mage was discarded from the faction..
This happened to Glided with many, MANY factions.

After so many letdowns, Glided was ready to give up. But then the miracle happened.

He found somebody else with broken dreams(The Chosen 0ne). And together they created a faction that would based around flexibility and friendliness. The faction was a success and it's still going strong after 3 weeks.

To be continued......

Nice story eh?

goldslayer1 -> RE: Overcoming difficulties. (12/12/2012 1:32:39)

luck is difficult to overcome.
u know like 2-3 crits. 2-3 blocks, etc.

Yo son -> RE: Overcoming difficulties. (12/12/2012 2:02:47)

having really ugly and fat weapons/ armors ( I.e egg laser!), going through 4 phases and having to adjust to those phases(sadly more raging moments than happy ones). Getting kicked by sir lazarus from his faction "Black Knight of Chaos," just because I didn't bow down and kissed his feet ( never donated tokens past 1000 after this in any faction!). I didn't really do anything to better myself. is just that a build called heal loop came, and I picked up on it/ mastered it quickly and after that I started to understand the game more and more/ found it easier to make a build more flexible around me. As far as the ugly/ fat weapon and armors are concerned, am waiting for omega, I can finally go back to look sexy again, I can finally make titan jealous because he knows I make the bread look good. I can imagine it-Arzeal/ frost bane/ skinny cool looking armor/ bunny zokka/ imperial acp/ sexy wizard bread I can win the match with my good looks.

Another challenge I have right now is playing the game, i find it next to impossible to play 20 matches in a day, the only way i can over come this as of this moment is to play at reset, so i can be on LB and get at least 100 win, which takes 3 hrs, then called it a day, the LB motivates me to play.

T.600 -> RE: Overcoming difficulties. (12/12/2012 2:42:39)

Being level 29 when the bunnyzookas and rixties where out. I needed to be 31.
