I am going to try a something tentatively different if you do not mind (otherwise, please poke me and say so). The questions will be addressed to Cataclysm in successive events one at a time. I shall post the first after which Cataclysm may answer in his own fashion. Once that is done, I shall edit in the next based on his answer and so on and so forth. First one to set the atmosphere (not to worry, the other are not long like this). Hmm. This piques my interest. I'll allow it. The door opens onto a fairly crowded room. A number of torches and lanterns illuminate the inn although the night's darkness dampens the outskirts. A thick, appetizing smell of roasted inn meat permeates the air with fainter presence of Moglinberry juice. A holler blurts out. The men on the second nearest table to your left erupt in laughter, clearly making merry, knock their tankards together, down another drink and, after a short pause, lean in again eager to continue to listen to the captivating entertainer amongst their kin. Yulgar's Inn lives up to its fame, gents of all sorts have gathered hear. The dirt of the road and long travels covers a number of the Yulgar's clients making those wearing already inconspicuous garments even more plain. Much rather every table has at least a few figures assembled partaking into a more or less loud conversation. Three robed and silent figures sit at the far end and far right. A man leans against the bar, bald crowned with tuffs of hair to the sides. A ring of faded orange hair adorn his chin from ear to ear. His skin is burnished from long hours in the sun and sport the hard wrinkles of the hills he has long worked on. Your eyes wanders to the table next to the fireplace at the far end slightly to your right. A giant figure clad in deep sea blue robes sits alone, a tankard in hand. Having taken in the sights, I catch Yulgar's attention and motion for him to get me a mug of my own. I walk past the bar and set some coin on the table, continuing my stride to the one sitting at the table, taking a nearby seat. A flicker of merriment tinge the grey eyes of the hooded figure as you take a seat. Although you may see nothing other than the grey glowing eyes out of the darkness of mage's hood, a feeling comes across you: the man grins. A deep chuckle escapes his unseen lips before he speaks. Well met, Cataclysm. It is good to see you here. How do things fare? Quite alright, my friend. And you? The mage downs another gulp of Moglinberry juice and grins. Quite fine, quite fine. He leans in. So, is it true what I hear? They have discovered another dimension, close to this one? Cataclysm raises an eyebrow. This is news to me. I've been busy lately, keeping Ulthair up on his training. Haven't heard much news as a result. What's this supposed dimension like, anyway? Give me some details. Oh? Yet I heard you were tasked amongst others to investigate it. The man that found it what found halfdead, muttering gibberish. ''3D'' or some sort. Sounds dangerous. Elryn takes a sip Ah, rumors spreading already? I was told to keep my new appointment under wraps for now, but if you're already aware... Yes. It seems most unusual. Part of why I volunteered to take a look. When I heard about some of what'd supposedly been seen, well... How could I not? Elryn grins as Cataclysm palavers. A flicker of curiosity animates his eyes as his friend finishes Oh? And what do they say? I admit myself to knowing little myself. I am curious: what has been seen? Your secrets are safe with me. Truth be told? Not much. Well, not as much as I'd have liked, anyway. Some reports are of monsters similar to those which we have here in Battleon. Others are of completely new, bizzare looking creatures. The inhabitants aside, the world itself looks beautiful. I'm looking forward to exploring there soon. I haven't made it out for any expeditions so far, but hopefully soon. I want to see this new dimension myself. Curious... I see. And are you alone on this or have you been assigned to a company, some companions in your endeavours? Groups are established, but in the interest of time, we split up and meet back at a predetermined landmark in a couple hours time, so as to better map out the area. We'll do this repeatedly over the course of a day. Meeting back up with the others is to be sure that none of us are in trouble. If someone doesn't make it back, the lot of us will go off to try to find whoever didn't make it back. Elryn nods Do you have any expectations as to what you and your company will find? Anything you are looking forwards to? The only things I'm expecting to see are things very different from what we have back home. From what I understand, there's been quite a few sightings of things that are... Unusual, to say the least. Those would be some interesting sights. As for what I'm looking forward to, well... Mostly what I'm expecting to see, actually. Some wonderous, mysterious, and beautiful sights would be nice to have in my memories.
