@kaiseryeux21
Keeping info hidden from people is also bad way to go since it shows poor communication with the community and ends up in even bigger disappointment. You tell your teacher that work will be submitted by the deadline and you miss it, over and over. Result? You disappoint your teacher and not keep it to yourself. It's a bad way to go.

drinde -> RE: =ED= December 20, 2012 - Omega Announcement (12/20/2012 20:58:26)

Not sure if you guys know, but there's a major restock. INCLUDING THE CHERISHED Dual-shots.

kaiseryeux21 -> RE: =ED= December 20, 2012 - Omega Announcement (12/20/2012 21:00:10)

@ trizz. your right there bro. But the impact creates a feeling of inferiority to non vars. from a non var's point of view, why not include us when we know we can do what other var players can (aside from buying variums ofcourse). But the tournament is like a new system to ED and i suppose that every player may it be var or f2p deserve to experience this kind of gameplay. after all, this game is created for all, not just for elite few.

@trans, i got your point there bro. i wont argue about it anymore.

on another note, just want to ask if the whole idea of delaying the release was done days before or just this couple of hours?? is the idea of PRE-ORDER was planned before or just recently??

hijinks -> RE: =ED= December 20, 2012 - Omega Announcement (12/20/2012 21:06:01)

Guys, I have a question. With the new Omega update coming, do you think the behavior of players will improve? I was just recently playing and I fought a 1v1 pvp match against a level 33 tactical merc (I myself am a level 32 bounty hunter) and I really thought I would lose and such. But I gotten lots of criticals, and my SA and support kept me away from most of the hits. And this guy kept on saying I was a hacker and that he would report me and such. Then when I won, he called me a noob for blocking too much. If the behavior won't stop can we please have an option to turn off 1v1 pvp chat? The lack maturity of players there is rediculous, maybe this is another thing that kept lots of people from this game.

you have obviously not worked in the business world.....it's much better to plan for the worse and then over achieve, then to plan for miracles and not produce.

Remorse -> RE: =ED= December 20, 2012 - Omega Announcement (12/20/2012 21:08:42)

Also Id like to point out,

Some of the most successful MMOs that are free are often those that have no game playing advantage between paying and not paying if there is a paying option.

Hzchato120 -> RE: =ED= December 20, 2012 - Omega Announcement (12/20/2012 21:10:02)

I'm fed up with this. 2 times Omega has been delayed. It shouldn't happen. I have been waiting for weeks for this update and now it's delayed. There should be a set update day. [:@]

Ranloth -> RE: =ED= December 20, 2012 - Omega Announcement (12/20/2012 21:10:58)

@MirageD
You expect too much from 16 y/o. Look at the economy, then education and then job availability. <.<

hijinks -> RE: =ED= December 20, 2012 - Omega Announcement (12/20/2012 21:11:52)

Has anyone seen what I said? Or no..? :o

The Astral Fury -> RE: =ED= December 20, 2012 - Omega Announcement (12/20/2012 21:15:46)

All in all this is good in the long run. We get a better, increased content, improved release. Also that 2 for 1 deal was amazing so I'm happy about that.

Vegafire -> RE: =ED= December 20, 2012 - Omega Announcement (12/20/2012 21:17:30)

If they had of planned for the worse many players would have quit by now, they produce what they promise eventually even if it does not meet the first or second maybe even the third deadline, its better to pospone and get a fully working system than a half done buggy system right? People are always going to complain which in term makes the dev's think there not doing enough, leading to more effort in later updates and in turn a longer period for the update due to them wanting to satisfy their players, You either get Short timeframes or amazing gameplay not both!

One Winged Angel1357 -> RE: =ED= December 20, 2012 - Omega Announcement (12/20/2012 21:26:50)

Another factor we are overlooking is the simple load of work being done here. You have all of the art, and then you have the complete overhaul of the code not to mention staff meetings which can be a huge time sponge if AE is anything like a normal company.

Side note awhile back a friend told me a game like ED would take two to three months to make from the ground up and seeing as there is the new art and a massive code overhaul I would have to say a one month work time is not unreasonable especially for a game like ED where bugs of a serious magnitude are not a common find

button33 -> RE: =ED= December 20, 2012 - Omega Announcement (12/20/2012 21:30:30)

Guys.
I know the developers promised us today. But things don't always work out in life do they?

It doesn't help that you are raging at them, complaining that everything is delayed. Complaining wont get the job done quicker. Patience is a virtue. You need to have it.

I am disappointed that the release has to be delayed, and i know everyone else is disappointed. But look, the developers apologized to us, and to compensate, restocked rares and gave us a 2 for 1 deal. Be thankful for what you get.

Moreover, the developers have worked really hard, putting in 75 hour work weeks for at lease three weeks. They are tired, and they want to get the job done. Don't you think that they would want the release out early and have us play it? It's near the holiday season. Let them take a day off and spend time with their family. Give them a break. Spend time yourself with your family. Don't play Epicduel all day on Christmas.

Moreover, like I said, this complaining doesn't help. Instead of complaining when the release is delayed, encourage the developers by telling them that you are grateful for the work they do. Tell them that you understand the delay, you can accept it, and that you look forward to a great release in the new year. Tell them to keep up the good work. Negative comments from the players discourage the developers. Its like the developers are running a marathon right now. They are "hitting the brick wall" at around mile 20, and can't finish the last 6.2 miles. Support them. Give them positive comments, and encourage them to finish the last portion. Without us, they won't finish. Cheer them on as they finish their final plans for Omega. It will help them get there faster, knowing that the player base is supporting them and cheering them on, rather then posting negative comments.

And Last but not least, I want to thank the developers and all the mods and testers for working so hard to try to meet their expectations. Not everything in life works out, but I look forward to the release in January. Take some time off and spend time with your family. I look forward to starting the new year with a great release.

There's always something to complain about for every situation.

http://www.taleswithmorals.com/aesop-fable-the-man-the-boy-and-the-donkey.htm

"Please all, and you will please none." Or so the website says.

As for Omega, I'm still excited for it! :D It's good that they decided to make a 2-in-1 package. My original plan was to buy both packages once I get a feel of Omega. At least now I won't have to pay double. @o@

TRizZzCENTRINO -> RE: =ED= December 20, 2012 - Omega Announcement (12/20/2012 21:32:08)

@kaiser(your name is wayy harder to spell than mine) im sure they will release a tournament for the non vars, but with the exception of baby yeti for the reward, maybe just like 10k credit for the top 100 players in the non var tournament.

The Astral Fury -> RE: =ED= December 20, 2012 - Omega Announcement (12/20/2012 21:33:36)

Lol just watch in a few weeks. "As you know we have been working very hard (16-20 hours) to make sure you have the best Omega event, howvever to do a number of things it would be immpossible to relase Omega right now, we really apologize, but alot of work has gone into this... etc." You get what I mean I can imagine that happening even though it may not it, it could.

kaiseryeux21 -> RE: =ED= December 20, 2012 - Omega Announcement (12/20/2012 21:39:27)

@trizz, lols its the first time somebody noticed my name.
i hope so bro, after all this is all we want. Every player being able to experience every feature of the game. Its like giving everyone a chance to run, doesnt matter who wins the race. and who knows, a non var can be on top. (don't forget JARITHEMIGHTY).

Whirlwindstorm2 -> RE: =ED= December 20, 2012 - Omega Announcement (12/20/2012 21:42:43)

@trizz. For these thirty days, i think that'd be a great idea! If non vars could participate, but of course have a much much smaller prize when they win. That'd be interesting x)

The Astral Fury -> RE: =ED= December 20, 2012 - Omega Announcement (12/20/2012 21:44:36)

So what is the tounament though the people who have the most 1v1 wins out of 100 people in that tournament get the prize?

xxmirxx -> RE: =ED= December 20, 2012 - Omega Announcement (12/20/2012 21:44:36)

i dont think fair for one we varium had to pay for 10k just to get in there

The Astral Fury -> RE: =ED= December 20, 2012 - Omega Announcement (12/20/2012 21:49:13)

Did they say what it is though, I bet it's like the most 1v1 wins out of 100 people get it.

TRizZzCENTRINO -> RE: =ED= December 20, 2012 - Omega Announcement (12/20/2012 21:51:54)

@kaiseryeux21 @Whirlwindstorm2 ha ha yeah, i can see what others can't (i see dead people too O_O)

anyways, yes i agree non vars should also have a tournament but, the reward has to be minimal, i think 10k credits should do. therefore they can enjoy the feature but it makes varium players happy at the same time because they paid to have the extra reward.

Jekyll -> RE: =ED= December 20, 2012 - Omega Announcement (12/20/2012 21:52:21)

There's really nothing else to compete for in EpicDuel. Pity though, that I won't be as free when Omega launches. I'll have to give the Golden Yeti a miss, but there will be other ways for me tomakeup for this loss.

goldslayer1 -> RE: =ED= December 20, 2012 - Omega Announcement (12/20/2012 21:54:34)

cant blame them.

anyway, how exactly does this golden yeti competition work?
how do they pick the top 100?
