@Victoria: yeah, there're sitll bugs, but that's why we're sitll in beta :D

@TheJop: If you were only relying defense and freeze apparently you're probably doing things wrong, at least now Ice Orb isn't ridiculously broken and is now lowered from mega-nuke to mini nuke.

You can't really keep up 20 defense for an ice orb, and that isn't too powerful either. It'll be lowered by over 10 points by your opponent most turns.

@thejop - You are forgetting that Ice is not meant to be a powerhouse, they are meant to be defensive. So yeah, compared to a Fire/Shadow/Energy character they ARE going to suck, but compare ANY Fire/Shadow/Energy character to the defensive styled ice characters and you will see that they can't match up defensively either. You can only have one or the other, having both makes your character OP'd unless you have some other major flaw in the mix. That is the whole point of balancing things in these games...

But you forget, there possibly hundreds of more characters to be released. From those who have been released, it's defensive.

Ice characters are meant to be defensive but they're very limited; they can reach the defense cap in one turn. I reach 20 defense with light and energy characters; that puts them at the same level as ice characters in terms of defense because it doesn't matter how many ice walls you have if you're already at the cap.

@Thejop: But it's easier for ice characters to maintain their shields as they have an abundunce of them, at the same time they're going to assault you with several attacks, freeze you, and wait for the DoT to hit you.

However, I agree about one thing, 20 is too little. I think max should be 25 - 30.

I feel Ice should have some more defensive options, for example, a card that blocks up to two or so attacks? Unblockable will, or course, still go through.
Puts some meaning into choosing the order of your cards.

@thejop - Yes it certainly does matter that you can reach the cap in one turn and still have ice walls! Think about it, sure energy and light can do it ONCE maybe TWICE but that would be it for at least a few turns, Ice can do it MUCH more consistently. Sure you can reach the cap, but you ALSO are ready for when your opponent tries to break through your shields as you ALREADY have another ice wall in the ready. Not to mention that while he is trying to break through he is expending more energy trying to break them then you are to put those shields back up, so you will gain the upper hand anyway.

@aliesterus - The problem with raising the cap higher then 20 is that not many characters can do a consistent 20 damage as it stands now and having it even higher would make an already difficult task that much harder. As powers and characters become stronger over time I believe that the cap could be raised, but as it stands now I can win with my Frost Void without taking more then 15 damage an entire match because I can still be so focused on defense and still dish out damage little by little. Takes forever, but I guess that is just how ice is supposed to be.

Quoting Victoria, maybe something like a spiked shield, not a reflecting shield, but a shield that if hit will do a set ammount of damage each time, and will only sustain a set ammount of hits. I think that that would help ice characters a bit more, however don't forget we're going to get the addition of the card Fostbite, let's see what that card does before we judge Ice too much (love how there's a swing on people's opinions on Ice being too overpowered or underpowered).

But then you have trouble damaging them because they can put up plenty of defense to compensate for your shatters in four turns, and you can't rely on your regular attack cards. Ice characters kill things so slowly and unreliably that they are worse than most other characters, which can place several DoTs while doing over 10 damage per turn (without the DoTs).

Think of it this way.

In PvP using non-ice characters I rarely ever get shields to use, ever only getting 5-10 defense before the fight is over.

Using an Ice Character I can get 10-20 defense in one turn, and by my next turn replace the shields that were damaged, always keeping myself at max Shielding.

Seems fair to me to have a shield limit.

Of course we need a shield limit, just not one that can be reached in one turn by an ice character. Seems like a waste of cards to me.

It seems fair to me, Ice characters can go from 20 to 0 defense and back to 20 in two turns, and most characters can only do about 20 damage with their cards and damages as a max, sometimes a little higher. 20 seems like a good limit to me.

@Victoria: If you click fast enough, you'll be able to open up the artifacts log right when you enter the map, however there's no point in it as it's all empty.
